eh cali probs picks up super fast and it probs took like an hour max to teach selena bc she’s a professional dancer, but tbh with larger groups its even more difficulty to make changes (like everyone needs to be in a very specific place with that many ppl on stage, it can even become dangerous if ppl mess up and get too close to eachother). so it would make sense if it was just safer and easier for everyone to keep the same formations

one thing i’m a little confused about that i think is quite different from most studios is that p21/ molly would rather fully bring someone new in (ie cali or selena) than change formations in a really large dance. like how is it easier to teach a whole person a like 7 minute dance than to spend a little time shifting people one window over? totally understand having swings who already know the dance (my studio does that too) but quickly adding someone completely different mid season?? is this normal for other studios too???

Cece Chung Die Hard Dancer!

i love too many fish in the sea but i wish olivia wasn’t the in back. i know she has moments in it where she has a tiny feature or isn’t in the back but in general i don’t think she should be opposite cece. i think she would’ve looked fine in madelyn or aliya’s spot. she’s close enough to madelyn’s height where it would’ve looked good, and aliya is small so she would have looked totally fine opposite cece. i’m not saying madelyn, aliya and cece aren’t good because they’re all such great performers, just olivia has been there longer which i know doesn’t technically matter but in this case i feel like she has that p21 attention to detail that cece and aliya will get with age, and madelyn will get with longevity on the team

i definitely don’t think it was intentional because if you look at the beginning, the triangle formation is by height! the lines blending after the triangle caused olivia to mirror cece. it would be boring if the formation stayed the same the whole dance so i like that they move around a bit!
