Keep trying to work on Fireworks and Patchwork but I keep getting distracted by new ideas and horror boys. Dusk and Stretch are always on the mind of course, but Rust and Edge keep coming and going and interrupting everything and it's making me insane. I don't think I ever even finished posting those au synopsis </3

Edge loves listening to Stretch, loves all his strange knowledge, of both scientific nature and pop culture or fiction. This does not mean he does not also enjoy annoying Stretch endlessly by purposefully mixing up or butchering names of characters, "double checking" facts in the exactly wrong way (so wrong, in fact, he must know the correct fact to be wrong so perfectly), "misremembering" things and asking The Worst possible questions about them.
And it's a fun game they play because Edge is also forgetful, and does ask genuine questions, sometimes even ridiculous ones, but he’s also exceptionally skilled at deadpan, so it's entirely up to Stretch to discern when he’s actually asking or purposefully fucking with him. And of course it only makes him love him that much more.

For all the angst that occurs in the TrVF poly AUs, honestly I love those three so much. That's like my comfort au. Whenever I need something I know can just be. Disgustingly soft and simple and sweet, I default to those boys. They're sooo good and love each other so much.
All the variants are good, but just classic man...ough. At any stage too, pre poly, the getting to know each other stage. Just pre poly yearning, really coming to know each other as friends. Early relationship with all this rocks and bumps and awkwardness, yet all the gentleness and earnestness, slowly working towards learning each other in a deeper way. Waaay later on, solidly established, a well oiled machine, Alibi coming to know Stretch and Edge as well as they know each other and vice versa, all their silliness and love and comfortableness. With kids! Early days, teen days, young adult days, how they grow and change and the challenges they face as a family, with each other.
It's just like. Idk! We never really developed a "standard" origin poly between the three, and TrVF was the first we explored as poly, so I guess it's just really cemented in there as like. The og. Aside from regular spicyhoney of course, but like, idk. It's honestly so difficult not to pepper Alibi/poly stuff into all my ideas anymore because I love the three of them together so much lmao 😭
Edit: my beloved boys <3

So that lore.
If I do ever get around to writing more for these boys, what I'm thinking is that monsters had still been underground, but surfaced earlier than usual, around the time Edge and Stretch would've been like, 7-10 ish.
The transition up top took some time, what with there being multiple different ones over the span of a few years, and as the monster sanctioned areas grew, became sort of segmented by universe. This brought its own difficulties with it, as some monsters, mostly those from "Fell" type undergrounds, had harder times adjusting to surface life.
Edge and Stretch met very early on, shortly after surfacing and before the "divisions" got too bad. Edge and Red had already lost their father and were semi accustomed to looking after themselves, but Stretch and Blue's father, while not the most outwardly compassionate, did try to keep an eye on them and help them out in ways Red would let him.
Unfortunately, it wasn't too long after that Swapster got sick and declined pretty quickly. Stretch and Edge were tween/young teenagers when he finally succumbed, but as things had simultaneously been growing more strained between the 'verses, circumstance pushed them apart a bit. They still tried to hang out when they could, and Blue and Red certainly had more than one argument over the two just coming to stay with them (despite barely being able to keep their own heads above water), but distance grew between them over the teen years.
Until Red got sick.
The same illness that claimed Swapster, during one of their rare actual opportunities to spend time together, Edge told Stretch. He'd been doing any work he could get (and Stretch resolutely never asked about the few LV he'd gained over the years), but it just wasn't enough, and Red's condition was only getting worse.
On the brink of graduating or possibly in a gap year, Stretch completely changed his career choice, going into medical science in order to aid in finding treatment for the disease. And with tensions finally eased into a sort of normalcy and Blue having long since secured a decent job, the Fell boys moved in with the Swaps for a little while.
Once Edge had secured himself better work, and using what little savings Red had accumulated before falling ill, they manage to move out after a few years, and make their own way. Red is a trial patient, by Stretch's recommendation, and is currently receiving experimental treatment that hasn't entirely helped in recovery, but slowed its progression significantly, which is really saying something considering how serious the condition is.
Edge and Stretch, of course, have unresolved feelings for each other, Stretch had probably been in love with Edge almost the whole time, but Edge likely only developed more romantic feelings once older, probably during the brief time they lived together. They both care about each other deeply, but tend to dance around heavier subjects and their own personal problems which keeps that little bit of space there even when they'd honestly both be so much better off if they just talked ough
But! They're actually pretty similar to my young code blue boys, but with waaay less angst along the way lol I'd love to write more with them, maybe some of the earlier days like a time Edge snuck in to Stretch's room really late as teens, or maybe them moving in together in the not so distant future (or maybe slightly distant, Edge probably wouldn't until Red didn't need him looking after him anymore).
They're very cute and sweet and I'm kissing them both on their stupid little foreheads. (Also feel the need to clarify that while Edge does have LV, it's not anywhere near as much as standard for when he’s in the guard and everything, like, maybe he’s at abt 4? More than 2 but definitely not more than 6)

Spicyhoney, word count: 2024, chapter 1/2 (wip)
Ao3
Snippet:
The snow outside fell slowly, easily carried this way and that on the city currents. It was too warm to accumulate, leaving the road and sidewalks damp as if it'd rained without any picturesque white frost to remind that January approached faster each day.
People came in dressed in a variety of heavy coats to light jackets, shorts and skirts, some with, some without leggings. No one seemed to be able to decide how Wintery the weather was, aside from the fact nearly everyone ordered hot drinks. If he didn't know any better himself he would've had a hard time figuring whether they were dressed for Fall or Spring.
His attention drifted from the steel cup he'd been wiping down to the small family hurrying across the street at the intersection just past the cafe. A small human child ran excitedly ahead of their parents, tossle cap pompom bobbing with each clumsy step. They followed with exaggerated haste and obvious fondness that made warmth spark in Edge's soul.
The scene had captivated him so entirely, he failed to realize he'd been approached.

"Index" of my spicyhoney ideas and AUs, in no particular order
16-20/???
✮ Band
The first chapter has been sitting in my wip folder for years lmao. Basically, after surfacing, Edge unexpectedly winds up the singer/rhythm guitarist for an underground (lol) rock band. No one knows and he tries to keep it that way, until one of his friend group unknowingly gets recommended to see a show and invites a bunch of their mutual friends. Edge is also invited of course and is mortified, but ultimately decides to go on anyway.
Stretch in particular is stunned, even though they'd never really gotten along he is very much attracted to Edge and seeing that show certainly didn't help.
Probably the biggest reason I never finished it is because I couldn't ever really think of much of a cohesive story beyond Stretch and Edge bonding over music and falling for each other. Which is like. Fine but also kind of boring lol
-
✮ Code Blue
Another very old one that I think I've already posted a more full summary of here elsewhere. So I'll keep it brief. Edge was a lab experiment found in the secret labs of his underground after all the various undergrounds surface. He has a "vampire mutation" on top of just not really knowing how to be a monster since he grew up entirely isolated in an abandoned cage basically.
Blue is a nurse with a rehabilitation hospital that US Toriel runs, and asks specifically for his help rehabilitating Edge before he’s declared too dangerous and put down like an animal.
Of course it works and has a happy ending where Stretch helps him acclimate once he’s made enough progress to be released under Blue's supervision. Of course they fall in love, and it's complicated at times, but sooo worth it.
-
✮ Vesselfell
Again, another older one. Shortly after its conception, I of course thought up a spicyhoney variant.
At a point earlier in VF's timeline, before the others know the truth, an unexpected "glitch" throws the UT and US brothers in VF. Stretch and Edge get along horribly at first, yet that doesn't stop Stretch from jumping headfirst into one of Edge's "episodes" to try and help him.
Aside from Flowey, Stretch becomes the first person to know the truth about Edge and resolves to help him gain some measure of control.
Takes place in a Variable Ending setting where eventually US, UT, and VF wind up sharing a surface and Edge and Stretch get married and Stretch works from home while Edge goes of Voiding it up in the multiverse helping people, and it's mostly just domestic fluff aside from the occasional insane cryptid/body horror/existential drama bouts <3
-
✮ "Bad Brother" Swap
I might have the note for this one somewhere but now that the notes app search doesn't work it might take a while to find. But! Basically, US is a bad brother au.
UT, SF, and UF have already met, and manage to connect to a new universe. I don't actually remember how they get from point a to point b but they find out quickly about the way the Sans from US treats his brother. Shade, this specific UF Papyrus, is the one who actually retrieves the battered US Papyrus while some of the others go after the Sans in retaliation.
Afterwards, Shade basically decides this pathetic little thing is his and tries his best to help Honey, the US Papyrus, heal and recover.
Their characterizations differ a bit from my usual Edge and Stretch, hence the different nicknames. Shade is very...cold. He seems almost mechanical. Efficient and barely emotes, but he’s also very quiet and blunt generally. Aside from what he has to do as captain of the guard, he’s actually a deceitfully gentle giant (he’s also like a ft taller than Edge. Very Big).
Honey on the other hand is...quiet. Anxious and a bit skittish. More than anything his self image is what took a beating, feeling useless, worthless, and utterly incapable. He’s suspicious of Shade's motives initially, but too scared to really stop him. Luckily, it gets sorted out pretty soon in when he finally manages to ask and Shade bluntly tells him that he just sort of. Claimed him as his problem? He’s so pathetic and weak but he’s also kind and smells nice. So yeah. Also weirds him out seeing any version of himself so helpless so he wants to help him regain a stronger sense of self again.
Of course they fall in love super fast after that point, and eventually surface together and it's very nice and good 👍
-
✮ Reincarnation
This one is a looser sort of idea. It's one I've tossed around weakly a few times, rotated different scenarios, ones where Edge always remembers but Stretch doesn't, ones where that's vice versa, ones where they both know, ones where they used to be celestial gods who gave that up to be mortals who keep getting reincarnated and keep finding each other in ever life.
The most recent one was VF specifically, as Void's essentially immortal, so in that idea, Stretch keeps getting reincarnated across the MV and Void seeks him out every time he can. Sometimes Stretch remembers, other times he doesn't. And since he’s born into new AUs, it can vary like crazy what kind of world he’s in or even what kind of monster he is (though he’s always a Papyrus).

Been trying to think of ship names and man. WHY is it so difficult.
I've been thinking something like rusted knife for Rust / Edge, but that seems so harsh compared to blood orange for Dusk / Stretch
I've also been wondering if cinnamon dolce would be a good one for Stretch / Lace or Stretch / Boss, I'm not sure which one I like better (or hell maybe even Lace / Clove)
I'm still really happy with black licorice for Lace / Abstract, but I've been thinking maybe red velvet for Lace / Edge ?
I'd like to come up with one for Luck / Edge, Luck / Boss, and Elester / Stretch (the first one I thought of for that was milky way, which is kinda cute but I'm not sold since that might be better for one of the outer variants) but I haven't gotten much for them yet
(Rust is horrorswap Papyrus, Dusk is Horrorfell Papyrus, Lace is Lovefell Papyrus, Clove (Honey?) is Loveswap Papyrus, Boss is Mafiafell Papyrus, Luck is Mafiaswap Papyrus, and Elester is Demonfell Papyrus. Abstract is an OC)

How about an absolutely insane fic idea I just got at like 7am earlier
Focus - (UF) Papyrus & Flowey, Spicyhoney
In a field, far from home, the prince of the Fell kingdom awakens entirely confused and alone. He quickly comes to realize he'd been turned into some sort of monster adjacent plant creature and can't remember his name. He immediately seeks out help, panicked and scared. It's a few days before he stumbles across a farmer, a skeleton monster.
He’s dismissive and cold and first, as the prince insists he’s the kingdoms heir and orders him to return him back to the castle. The farmer is underwhelmed and continues mostly ignoring him, aside from passing commentary on his rudeness, and goes to leave once he’s finished his current task. The prince tries to order him to stop, only for the farmer to point to an area east of them. He explains the Fell kingdoms border ends just shy of his property – it could not be less his problem.
The prince is distraught watching him walk away, the first monster he'd been able to find in a couple of days, and finally pleads for him to help. The farmer stops at this and turns back to him, questioning shouldn't royalty learn manners to better be diplomatic? The prince insists they do, of course, but that's amongst other royalty, it's significantly different for just common folk.
The farmer then asks if he thinks his worth and what he does is more important than his own. The prince answers easily of course. The farmer sighs, sarcastically commenting then surely the royals could feed the people gold and gems if the farmers disappeared. The prince is surprised and caught off guard, trying to defend they'd just instate new farmers, as their job is to oversee everything and make sure it functions.
The farmer asks what if they disappear, too? Or how would they be taught without other farmers to teach them? He doesn't wait for an answer this time, simply stating a kingdom is only worth the work its people put into it, he should reconsider what he finds value in.
The prince is frustrated and annoyed, but knows now he must bite his tongue if he wants the farmer to help, reassuring himself internally that of course a farmer would value his own work above the kingdoms leaders, as if he'd ever understand.
The farmers sighs, and finally concedes. He may rest at his home and then come with him when he travels to sell goods in a few days time, but then he is on his own again. The prince tries his best to be gracious but is obviously still pretty spiteful, the farmer chooses to ignore this and uproots him to a shocked protest, settling him on his supplies cart and wheeling him back in the direction he'd pointed earlier.
On the walk back, the prince asks after what kingdom his land does lie in, only for the farmer to state it lies in no kingdom. The prince is annoyed and doesn't believe him, instead asking other questions that get similar short responses until he gives up and falls quiet.
He dozes off, coming to when he hears the farmers dog barking happily, looking up to find a modest house with a beautiful, lush garden. It looks almost like something from a fairytale. Another skeleton monster comes from the front door to greet the farmer, looking much more agreeable and soft.
It's obvious quickly by their greetings this is the farmer's husband, who notices the other quickly, sleepy eyes watching curiously as he asks after him, the farmer quick to explain. Claims to be the prince of the Fell kingdom. He'll be taking him with him when he travels into Tale for the market.
The husband is kind and curious, the prince fighting himself to try and be courteous, feeling the watchful eyes of the farmer on him. Stretch, as he introduces himself, asks what they should call him, which is when he decides to be called Flowey, quickly getting flustered by the couples amusement at the name. He also learns from Stretch the farmer's name is Edge, warranting him to ask if they think their names are really any better than his, getting Stretch to chuckle and Edge to roll his eyes.
Soon, Stretch has taken him to the guest room to rest while Edge makes dinner. The next few days seem to drag on, Flowey quickly coming to realize Stretch is much sharper than he'd initially thought, and enjoys poking fun at him, while Edge is simply always cold and sarcastic. He finds it intolerable to be around either and ultimately winds up sulking in the back garden more often than not.
Finally, the day comes and Flowey waits impatiently for the couple to say their goodbyes, annoyedly averting his eyes at their gentle shows of affection. Edge doesn't waste time afterwards, and Flowey again grows bored and tries to ask him questions. Edge is as avoidant as ever and his patience seems to wear thin, but he never snaps at him.
It's a several hour trip, but they finally get there before noon. Edge stop suddenly alongside the river that runs through the small town on the outskirts of the kingdom. He points in a direction and tells Flowey the Fell kingdom is that way, and not to get shredded before he reaches it.
Suddenly, despite finding him rude and annoying, Flowey realizes he very much does not want to travel alone again. He tries to slyly state he’s too tired to go now so he'll linger and look around town. Edge watches him with an indecipherable expression, then shrugs, whatever.
The town is lively and the people kind. Flowey can't remember ever being in a market like this one, where no threats are being made and shouts are in greeting not anger. Possibly even more surprising yet, Edge is friendly with the people he speaks with, even smiling at times. It's odd, and off putting, but...not entirely unpleasant.
By the end of his time there, the sun is much lower in the sky, and Flowey finds Edge as he’s adjusting his cart for travel again. He insists he got carried away and is too tired to travel alone now, not to mention it'll be dark out, so he'll return with Edge and try again the next time Edge travels.
Edge watches him with that same odd look from earlier, but ultimately relents with a shrug, fine, but no complaining on the trip back. Even as the sun sinks lower and the sky grows darker, Edge easily navigates them back to his home, reaching the outskirts of the property by nightfall.
Stretch seems unsurprised by his reappearance, and soon, they've had dinner and Stretch and Edge have gone to bed. Something about the way Edge had answered his questions earlier had been bothering Flowey, since. He can't put a finger on it, and decides to try and sleep instead.
Weeks pass and it's more of the same, though Flowey grows slowly less resentful and calms, still not exactly fond of either the farm work or Stretch's house/garden tending, but they don't really ask much of him and Edge is a good cook, and by the time Edge is returning to another market, Flowey starts to feel anxious.
It's not that he wants to stay, but he doesn't want to travel to Fell alone. For one, Tale is an incredibly large kingdom, it would likely be a few days trip without a carriage, and he isn't sure how to navigate it himself, and two, well, it's intimidating. The first few days alone were difficult, unpleasant would be a kind word for it. He doesn't want to make the trip alone, but Edge is more than unwilling to take him himself. He'd insisted he could simply set him up with an acquaintance he knows travels into Fell, but Flowey fears another betrayal the likes of which got him into this mess in the first place.
Months pass and Edge had long since started preparing for winter, telling Flowey now he would only be making a few more trips to other kingdoms before breaking for the cold months. This would be his last opportunity until spring. Flowey is conflicted, having grown...somewhat used to their schedule and his time with Edge and Stretch.
He lies and states he will go with Edge's acquaintance on the second to last trip he makes. Edge accepts this, and lets him know when that will be. Time seems to pass quicker from that point, and though Flowey was intending to simply do the same song and dance he always does about being to tired, etc etc Edge does something he hadn't expected.
He'd already told his acquaintance and introduces them, a fire elemental called Grillby, who is stoic but friendly enough, and Flowey puts up his best show of being cordial himself. He explores the market as they return to their business, but when Flowey ultimately comes back around the time to leave, he cannot find Edge. Grillby hands him the small package Edge had left for him and explains he'd gone already, and Flowey is shocked.
With no other option than to be left in Tale alone, Flowey goes with Grillby, put off and anxious. He opens the package, finding some of the butterscotch candies Stretch makes with an emergency fire starting kit and a letter bundled in a small, thick blanket.
It's short and simple, wishing him luck on being returned to his former self, along with something cryptic from Edge about hopefully not fully being changed back. He pulls the blanket around himself despite it being warm in Grillby's wagon and wonders if he'd made a mistake.
Over the next couple of days, Grillby is just as willing to help, if not more quiet than his previous hosts, and he tells Flowey they'll be heading into Fell the next day, and his good friend Blaze would take him the rest of the way to the capital. For whatever reason, Flowey finds himself growing more and more anxious at the thought of returning, contemplating trying to return to Tale to wait until Edge's last trip to the market.
It's later that evening when he overhears something he hadn't heard before. Edge had never explained to anyone who Flowey was, and he now understands why. His father, king Asgore, had been declaring war and viciously attacking neighboring kingdoms over the perceived death of his son, even though he doesn't know which kingdom was responsible.
Apparently, the past several months had been horrible on those affected, even Fells own soldiers, and it all could've been stopped if Flowey had only returned sooner to prove who he is and put an end to this madness. For a moment, he’s furious. If Edge had told him sooner he would've gone as quickly as possible, but then, he is quickly overwhelmed by fear.
What if he was attacked and killed before he could prove who he is? What if they don't believe him? Even if it all worked and Asgore called off his attacks, their kingdoms reputation would've been dealt an irreparable blow making future trade and discussion incredibly difficult. What if, even knowing he’s his son, Asgore doesn't call off the attacks anyway?
He’s overwhelmed and feels stuck. In the dead of the night, Flowey leaves. Despite the lingering threads of frustration, the only people he can think to ask for help are Stretch and Edge. He'd never before had a relationship with anyone that hadn't been centered around who he is, not only that but they're both intelligent, surely they could provide important insight...
Only, he’d underestimate his familiarity with the way back. He'd tried following the trail but it became impossible to make out at points, and soon, Flowey is lost. And this time, he is in the wilderness of the Tale/Fell border, making it significantly more dangerous than his previous "camping trip".
Days pass, and Flowey continues trying to find his way...anywhere. It's brutally cold after sunset, and were it not for their care package Flowey is certain he would've died the first night. He isn't certain he'll make it many more, especially after a day of rainfall, he can't even start a fire. The sun is setting, the sky growing darker, and Flowey has sheltered himself as best he can, resigned to whatever fate awaits him...
A sound startles him, something distant, something...familiar. He blinks his eyes open to find a dim light cutting through the darkness. It grows brighter in approach and Flowey shrinks back- until he recognizes the sound being called. It is none other than Edge's voice. Flowey scrambles, calling back and shaking with relief as Edge pushes aside the makeshift shelter, easily scooping Flowey up and quickly tucking him into his scarf.
He tries to speak, too many thoughts at once, but Edge hushes him sternly, telling him to rest. It's a command he can't resist, the warmth of Edge's body lulling him quickly.
When he finally wakes again, he is disoriented, wondering if he'd died or woken up home in bed and it'd all been a dream, only, he soon realizes he’s in a room he doesn't recognize, and he can hear voices nearby. It's not long before Edge comes in, reminding Flowey of what truly happened, and Edge asks how he’s feeling.
Everything comes back and boils up and Flowey accuses Edge of selfishly hiding a truth that had come to hurt so many.
Edge takes it on the chin and agrees, it was selfish, but he has his reasons. It's too complicated to explain, but what comes next is up to Flowey.
This makes him stumble a little, and reminds him of why he'd abandoned the return trip in the first place. After a moment, he confesses his worries, that he’s scared to go back and doesn't know how to fix all of this.
-
Aaand the rest I'd rather keep ~secret~ in case I ever do write it all out. But I'm definitely imagining a mostly happy ending 👍

Remembered to find the horrorswap dialogue, context at the end (capitalized is Edge, lowercase is Rust)
-
"Since you seem so insistent on putting words in my mouth, why don’t I tell you what I see?"
I see a skeleton monster
With ivory bones, blanched pale with worry
I see jagged teeth that could frighten both child and adult alike
I see…a deep scar and a socket that will never function fully again
-whispered- no
I see a damaged body that has endured more than most other monsters’ could
-choked- don’t
And if we’re talking technicalities, I see a monster named Papyrus, grown too tall from mutation and left forever altered by circumstances very far beyond his control
-hard exhale-
You see, I remember you once telling me that Rus was no better than I am. He would’ve made the same choices I did,
So, whatever your name is, you might not be the monster I knew before, but you are no less worthy of my love than he was. No more than I’m less worthy than Rus
Right?
-strained- that’s not fair
If we had met back when we were children, before I had scars and jagged teeth and dust on my hands, you would still love me now, wouldn’t you?
-choked- i’m sorry
Don’t be.
You’re hurting, so much
A crucial difference between us lies in the fact that this was simply the way my world was
I never had much to lose
But you did
And you lost almost all of it.
-
Context: so, I think this conversation happens around the time Rust is finally caving and letting Edge help him (pre-new nickname (he hated when Edge called him Stretch)), but of course there's a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of backsliding where Rust reaches a "limit" and any kindness/affection upsets him, so he crashes, and Edge helps him back up again.
Probably toward the later end of finally accepting Edge's help since he seems more stable/sad as opposed to volatile and aggressive (which his earlier crashes tended to lean into)
I think I might just cut out that second to last part, where Edge asks him about meeting in childhood. It feels redundant and unnecessary, so I'd probably skip straight from "Right?" to "i'm sorry"
Also Rus is UT Papyrus <3

"Index" of my spicyhoney ideas and AUs, in no particular order
11-15/???
✮ Long Distance
Another twofer. The first was about Edge and Stretch being childhood friends who wind up separated when Stretch's family moves. They stay in touch, though gradually not as frequently as they get older, until they finally meet again as adults, and boy, if they thought their crushes on each other were bad before... lmao
The other one I'd actually started for a month prompt thing either last year or the year before. Edge and Stretch meet in an online chat room (or similar). They wind up unlikely friends, growing closer over the years until they finally meet in person and...yeah, there's no denying the sparks that fly.
~
✮ Swap > Fell
A bit of a weird one. It's like, half spicyhoney, half spicybbq? After Edge and Red move to the house in Snowdin, they're about 11 and 16, respectively. While Red is setting up the machine in the basement, something goes wrong and there's an explosion, of sorts. As he’s coming to, he realizes there are now two strangers, other skeleton monsters, in their basement with him.
Stretch and Blue get yeeted into Fell at young ages. They're only a little older than the uf brothers, so they wind up staying with Edge and Red until they can manage to fix the machine and go home. That doesn't happen. As time drags on, they begin incorporating more, and...it's not pleasant, but honestly it's easier on all of them having each other.
Eventually Stretch and Blue change their nicknames to Slim and Viper, (though in the privacy of their home, Edge and Red still call them their old nicknames usually), and of course, Edge and "Slim" wind up together, how could they not?
I was thinking of incorporating some cherryberry (/whatever the uf sans/sf sans ship name is) but for some reason I also got the idea of Viper winding up with Blaze (uf Grillby)??
I honestly can't remember if they'd surface or not, but I do know I've thought about mv scenarios where Slim meets a more proper us Papyrus and gets a little bent out of shape about it, feels guilty, like Edge should be with him instead, etc etc, similar to Rust's sentiments in the horrorswap ideas where he feels like he’s not good enough but Edge is so obviously crazy about him and they make each other happy but eh, that's menthol illness babey!
~
✮ Missed Connections
This one is like au minesweeper. There's seven million different versions, but the overarching theme is that Edge and Stretch had met underground thanks to the machine. Either they didn't get along at all or briefly dated, ending on a relatively sour note.
Many years later, after they've all surfaced, Stretch has made a decent life for himself, but Edge, well. He'd (usually) gradually become disconnected from all the others. No ones heard from him (usually) for years, until a chance meeting with Stretch.
The reason I say seven million is because I've rotated this one a lot, sometimes it's just like. Angst on top of angst with more angst sprinkled to taste. Other times it's just kinda sad and about the many ways life can kind of lead you down paths you'd never expect, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. I've never been able to settle on one concrete version I like, but frankly it's usually difficult to reach any sort of fitting happy ending in these ones.
~
✮ Movie star
Similar to the college one, I have a massive note for this that I. May or may not have posted somewhere on this blog?? Stretch is a famous actor. Has been since he was a teen, so he’s pretty used to it all by now. And he’s tired of it. He feels like almost impossible to build solid, new relationships without people either wanting to use him or be with him just for appearances. So. He tries anonymously online dating. Surprisingly, he actually meets someone, going a bit anonymous themself.
Over months, Stretch and Shade talk and become closer and closer, until eventually, Stretch asks if they could go out on a proper date. Shade is hesitant, but ultimately accepts, so long as Stretch is comfortable coming to his home for something casual, like a dinner date.
It goes incredibly well, but there's something odd about it all. Shade lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of the woods, and was much more anxious and shy in person. For the most part, Stretch shrugs it off as Shade just being a bit of a hermit, but eventually, he comes to find the rabbit hole goes a little deeper than expected...
~
✮ Mutant
Another one not too dissimilar to Missed Connections in that, I actually have a number of different versions of this bad boy, though they're usually more separate and self contained, just sort of based off similar concepts.
One of the first though starts similarly to the long distance au/fic idea. Edge and Stretch were childhood friends...but Edge had a lot of health problems, and his father didn't like him going out to play or people coming over very often, so as Edge got older, Stretch saw him less. He was a strange little kid, always had to wear a mask and never spoke, but he was sweet and him and Stretch got along fantastically.
Until one day, Edge's family disappeared. Stretch went to visit only to see a new family moving in to their (previous) house.
Many years passed, when, much to Stretch's shock, he got a call from Edge's brother, Red. Over the many years, Edge had become a terrible homebody, and Red was desperate to find something that might help him relax into being social again.
Stretch agrees, of course, and is actually quite looking forward to seeing Edge again, only...once he finally arrives after the trip halfway across the country, Red has some...extra info, for Stretch to keep in mind. It's then he learns about what Edge's father had done to him, turning him into a lab rat, the effects it's had on his body, and that's why he’s so closed off and shut in. And actually meeting him, yeah, Stretch could understand why...
Of course that doesn't change the way he feels. And even though Edge is resistant at first, it's not long before they've started rebuilding the close friendship they'd had before. Which of course becomes more, eventually.

"Index" of my spicyhoney ideas and AUs, in no particular order
6-10/???
✮ Firewatch
Based on the game firewatch, another fic idea surrounding Edge and the struggles faced fresh from surfacing. He eventually takes up the job as a fire watch person for a national park, where he also meets Stretch, another watchman, via walkie-talkie.
The fic was intended to be less angsty than the game, and revolve around Edge going out into the forest to scout around and keep an eye out for any campers where they shouldn't be, or just to get some fresh air, whilst growing closer to his co-worker he can't even see over many, many radio conversations. Until of course they ultimately meet and then probably make out or something /hj

✮ Good Omens
Already made a little post about it for cringetober but, yeah! Angel x demon. It's really only loosely based off of good omens since they're both supposed to make sure the apocalypse happens and then they...don't do that lmoa but! Definitely a more lighthearted AU

✮ The Angel Nextdoor
I know I made a note but idk if I posted it? Edge, or Elester, is an angel. He works alongside many others to guide and aid the monsters and humans of the living world, until one day he gets assigned a special task. This one mortal in particular needs a little extra help. So, Edge comes up with a game plan. Puts on a mortal disguise and moves in next door! He can befriend and keep an eye on his charge this way!
Meanwhile Stretch unexpectedly gets the weirdest neighbor of his life, but...he’s actually pretty cute?? Oh no.

✮ Neighbors
I know I made a post about this one, and even made up a little sketch, but there's two different ones! The one where Edge moves in (the one the post is about), and the one where Stretch moves in (the one the art is about).
They're both mostly fluff with a little angst, the one where Stretch moves in a little angstier, but both are otherwise mostly slice of life <3

College
Good lort. I made a note for this that I think I had posted here at some point, but I'm not sure if it's still up.
Incredibly long story short, Edge is a college professor, and Stretch is one of his students. As is, they get along like a toaster and a bathtub, but! By the time Stretch has graduated, he’s come to have developed a crush on Edge. Eventually they start dating and it's super incredibly sweet...but something Stretch doesn't know about is brewing beneath the surface involving Edge's adopted child Frisk. It winds up causing a lot of drama for the boys, but I'm. Sure I'd work out a happy ending for them...
