A very random Anna eating Krumkake edits which is inspired by my final little finding 'How many appearances of Krumkake in various books' on yesterday… 💕
As Anna mentioned in novel 'All Is Found - Engaging Anna and Kristoff', there are a lot of bakers in Arendelle. But sadly there isn't much introduction to the bakeries and their cookies in movies, except I believe most of the people know Kransekake, the huge Christmas cake that is presented in OFA 😄
If there's a chance I would like to try how's the taste for Krumkake, I bet it's definitely delicious 😌
Tumblr media
And I just realize Krumkake was actually showing in the movies:

My little finding outside the movies - "Krumkake" ❄️
My last (ninth) finding is how many appearances of Krumkake in various books 😄 As Anna mentioned, there are a lot of bakers in Arendelle (from 'All Is Found: A Frozen Anthology - Engaging Anna and Kristoff'), this means lots of cookies, waffles, and pies are mentioned in various books. However, I've noticed that the cookie with the most appearances, which happens to be one of Anna's favorites, is Krumkake💙

Based on the two books above, I believe that what Hans was eating was Krumkake:

I'm making two little findings in a day 😄 This will be my final finding, it's so enjoyable to uncover the connection between various books. Honestly I can't believe it's been two months since I made the first finding, I would like to thank you to everyone who enjoys my little findings 💙 I haven't finished all the Frozen books, so I'll continue to add more whenever I find new ones (which I believe will be ongoing since there are so many Frozen books😂). I might compile all nine of my findings into a PDF, so stay tuned! 🔥

My little finding outside the movies - "Kingdom of Chatho" ❄️
My eighth finding is how many appearances of Kingdom of Chatho in various books 😄 There are many neighboring kingdoms to Arendelle, such as my latest finding, Vesterland, and other kingdoms like Zaria, Tikaani, and Eldora, which also make frequent appearances. However, I've decided to explore this kingdom next because of a story in 'Disney Adventure: Snowy Stories.' The story introduced the ruler of Chatho, Queen Colisa, who visited Arendelle when she was a child. It was a heartwarming story which I love it so much💙

"Believe in yourself. Believe in the ice... " ❄
Made a simple edits for one of my favourite Frozen novel "Lost Legends: The Fixer Upper" by Jen Calonita...💙
This novel is mainly about Kristoff and Sven, about how's their life when they were in orphanage, in valley of the living rocks, in human school and finally qualified to join the ice harvester team. It's actually more focus on 12-years-old Kristoff, how he deal with all these difficulties he faced especially with his classmate Gustav. It's a great novel, if you're interested in Kristoff backstory, I would recommend read it 😄 And honestly I'm surprised Kristoff and Oaken knew each other since long time ago before Frozen 1 😂
About the edit concept, technically I was editing a Kristoff and Sven poster but nothing else 😂 Also I added the ice harvester as the background, and also made a book cover of "The Ice Harvester's Guide to Ice" 😄 Sadly there's no 12-years-old Kristoff screencaps so I only added the young Kristoff and adult Kristoff into it 😄

My little finding outside the movies - "Kingdom of Vesterland" ❄️
My seventh finding is how many appearances of Kingdom of Vesterland in various books 😄 King Jonas of Vesterland and his daughter, Princess Mari, were introduced in the Dark Horse comics. However, I had already read the novels before reading the comics, particularly the novel "Polar Nights" where Vesterland played an important role in it. So, it was a surprise to realize that they had already appeared in the comics. And I find it lovely to know that Arendelle has such a charming neighborhood kingdom 💙

Translating the Runes in Secrets of the Magic Makers
Ok, so I already said in my previous post (X) that I love Secrets of the Magic Makers and the runic writing in Frozen in general, but now I’m going to actually talk about the translations of the runes.
Most* of the runes shown in Frozen movies and shorts are historically accurate and translatable. They are Younger Futhark runes, used in Nordic regions beginning around the 9th century. The Younger Futhark alphabet has 16 runes and is a simplification of the Elder Futhark, which had 24 originally. The Younger Futhark alphabet was used throughout Scandinavia in the Viking Age and declined after Catholicism was introduced. (Source: Runes Illustrated by Rachel Newcombe)
* I say most because the runes in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure on the bell are not historically accurate. They are simply a direct English transliteration of the words “Ring in the Season”
Disney worked with Old Norse language expert Jackson Crawford (you can find his YT channel here (X)) to ensure that the runes in F1 are historically accurate.
Ok, history lesson over, let’s actually talk about how these runes are relevant to the Frozen story.
I did not translate these myself, although I have kind of taught myself how to now. These translations come from Panya on this website. If you are interested in the detailed translations, I would highly recommend checking it out, as it is truly fascinating!
Tumblr media
Here is the cover of the book. It translates roughly to Runes of Knowledge, but I believe this book to also be Secrets of the Magic Makers (see my previous post for full explanation).
Tumblr media
The inside of the book is 9 lines of text, repeated twice. It appears to say something like
Someone (subject is unclear) was turned to stone (ice?) by the power of the moon. The trolls from the dark mountain realm have healing hands. A soul wounded from cold will heal if brought very quickly to the field of them (the trolls). Trolls have such a nature that they can get sorcery out of the body to save it. Such action done in true love is the only one which can thaw a heart stoned (frozen?) very quickly.
It isn't exactly clear or easy to read, but I think that it tells the story of an ancient Arendellian (possibly Aren, but that’s mostly just a headcanon) whose heart was frozen by some power of the moon. It goes on to say that trolls have the power to remove magic, but that the only way to thaw a frozen heart is an act of true love.
This is VERY interesting as it implies that someone in the ancient past had a frozen heart. It could just be an old story, something that never actually happened. I personally don’t believe there was ever a single person who was the fifth spirit before Elsa and by extension no human who ever wielded ice powers like hers before. Another option is perhaps whoever it was that angered the spirits in some way or ventured too far into Ahtohallan and began to freeze? Or it could be a figurative frozen heart in the sense of a lack of love and compassion. I suppose only Ahtohallan knows this answer.
The other thing that makes this interesting is that it directly says that an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart. Which means that the answer was right there all along. The entire message of love will thaw was summed up here in runes at the very beginning of the movie. This also means that this was part of an Arendellian myth or story at some point and has been forgotten by the time Elsa is born.
So yeah, not really a big revelation or anything, but it is certainly interesting. I would love to know more details about this story and its origin, but again, only Ahtohallan knows. Overall I do think it's fascinating, as it gives us more information about Ancient Arendellian beliefs and traditions that still hold relevance in the time Frozen is actually set. As someone who is OBSESSED with the ancient myths and stories of Arendelle and the surrounding areas, this is so so intriguing to me and I absolutely love it!

"Your sister is dead, because of you... " 💔
Made a simple edits for one of my favourite Frozen novel "A Frozen Heart" by Elizabeth Rudnick...💙
This novel's practically a Frozen retelling novel but with Anna and Hans perspective, and this is the reason I love this novel so much 💕 It's having more details compared with Frozen Junior Novelisation, like we know the name for many characters in Frozen: those dignitaries who participated Elsa's coronation, two guards of Weselton and more, which I'm glad and excited to know more details that is not in the movie 💙 And I honestly think we need another novel to focus on Elsa's pov 🤔
About the edit concept, there's nothing new as technically I was editing a Frozen poster 😂 I was planning to place Kristoff, Sven and Olaf in the edits but it doesn't work well, and the main focus for this book were only Anna and Hans (and Elsa imo) so I excluded the rest. Honestly I've tried edited the rest in it and it really looks like for Conceal, Don't Feel but not for A Frozen Heart lol 😂 Also I didn't add any details because there's nothing new needed to be included, there's no letter, no newspaper, no necklace like other novels 😅 But it's normal since it's a Frozen retelling novel 😂

"Papa, Mama, please don't leave me here alone... "😭
Made another simple edits for one of my favourite Frozen novel "Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale" by Jen Calonita...💙
At the beginning I was not really interested in this book until I've read this part, when Agnarr and Iduna's dead and Elsa's starting to aware she has magic power, it's so sad she's completely alone 😭 I'm also edited the most important letter in this book, a letter from Iduna, which tell the truth of why the sisters were separated apart. I made this letter for my last Conceal, Don't Feel edits but after adjusted here and there and found this letter was not suitable in anywhere, so I leave it till now 😄
About the edit concept, I've added my most favorite thing in the edits, the Sir Jorgenbjorgen plush, honestly I love this detail in the book so much 💕 Elsa's alone and she doesn't have anyone except of Sir Jorgenbjorgen 😭 And I've added on more details like Olaf who was created by Elsa three days later after her parents dead, a Iduna's letter, a parents portrait, and a childhood memories of young Elsa and Anna. For Young Anna she was only with her back and it's very vague as Elsa doesn't remember she had a sister at this moment.

My little finding outside the movies - "Lars" ❄️
My forth finding is how many characters with the name "Lars" in books😄I believe most of the people know the Prince Lars of Southern Isles who's having his first appearance in "A Frozen Heart", but not only this Lars, I've found it's fun when there's lots of Lars in Frozenverse, it makes me wondering is it a common baby name in Arendelle😂
A Frozen Heart - Prince Lars of Southern Isles (Pg. 38)
Tumblr media
2. "The Next Right Things" in All Is Found: A Frozen Anthology - The same Prince Lars from A Frozen Heart (Pg. 322)

"You'll kill her!" Elsa screamed.
Hans didn't move, "Exactly." He looked at Elsa as Anna writhed on the floor in pain. "You doomed yourself, but she was dumb enough to go after you..." 💔
Made another simple edits for one of my favourite Frozen novel "Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale" by Jen Calonita...💙
Honestly I was not a huge fan of twisted tale until I've read this part, I love this part the most as the sisters were finally reunited after gone through so many difficulties 💕 And I love the setting about the curse, how the sisters can't get closed to each other because Anna will be froze 😭
About edit concept, Anna wasn't supposed to touch or get close to Elsa because of the curse setting in the book, but I feel it doesn't have the intense vibe if I edited Anna lying on the floor 😅 Also Olaf was in this scene too but I didn't included him. And I was going to add the letter from Iduna as the letter was the key for Elsa, Anna and Hans to know what was happened, but sadly I found there was no space to add the letter. Maybe I will add into my future poster edits for this novel 🤔
