i have many thoughts and will make everyone's problem, as per usual.
thinking about how some of litg characters are endgame, and the ones that aren't, i feel like there's some serious miscommunication happening at all times.
hear me out!
elisa and hannah's arc over shannon and blake's? the hannah that happened, coming back, bitching out and being petty, over the balanced girl she was before leaving?
just so she would have one (1) crumb every time she came around? same for elisa. THE GIRL IS SO HOT, and has a really tough personality, which only made me like her even more, but then, "yOu'Re a gOsSip sNeEzEr" hits and i'm left in... shock.
like, think about this for a second: shannon coming back with rahim, only to realize she has feelings for mc? or blake, being mean, not able to admit to herself and others the only person that gives her flutters is the girl she "stole" a boy from???
the potential of so many plot lines was destroyed because they wanted to introduce petty personalities. no girl besides chelsea truly has a lovely personality, regardless of what happens. none of them "gives the other cheek", while all the boys are anti-fighting and have "impeccable conducts" regarding drama???
is that how they think girls are? just aggy, anxious to start something petty? can't wait to bring everyone down??
there's not ONE girl that's chill in the entire season 2. not a single one.
and when talking about li's, blake's arc had a lot of potential to explore "pick me" culture and jealousy, besides circumstances pinning women against each other. same for shannon, especially on rahim's route.
it feels familiar, and it tastes like male creators trying to figure out what women want, but never just... asking them.
no enemies-to-lovers whatoever? slowburns that bring tears to my eyes in a very depressing way. noah's route intented to be "something snakey and fun for the players, but there was never the intention of making him an endgame li"??? WHO ASKED FOR THAT???
they went from s1 mc saying "I'M NOT GONNA BE YOUR SIDE PIECE" to "ooh, fun, here's a couple that everyone "loves". now ruin them 😈"
marisol's was the only route set to be a slowburn but they treated the waiting period as the girl being confused *coughs* ASHAMED. what kind of enlightement was that supposed to bring to her character, given they thought she would be a fan favorite?
in what universe do you make lottie and hannah run away with someone after a wedding, without having a proper relationship with them, prior to that? it feels like there was no after thought about that one. no good reasoning behind it, except maybe for "let's try some angst and see what happens."
it's not angst, it's disrespectful.
now, with cmm, there's a weird feeling of "let's be more liberal and put everyone in open relationships, desregarding everything players know and love about the characters".
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE "OPEN RELATIONSHIP" AGENDA? you gave us the option of being single, and that was fine on its own. i don't understand what they were trying to accomplish here.
was it to people to know it exists? or try to educate us on the matter? because again, marks were missed.
and the constant waste of characters like noah, hope, shannon, blake... it's just plain weird.
i was never really a big fan of hope because of noah's route, but i like her as a character. and as i said many times before, she was grinded to dust over a relationship that was set to fail. wedding episodes and cmm proved it: nope was set to fail.
what was the message behind it? that they were in denial? why making her go through all that to not even bring her around for wedding or cmm? like, i'm not even the hugest fan of hope, but i can absolutely recognize she deserved better than that.
priya not being an li, but being interested in mc now, ONLY IF MC IS AS WELL.
what i'm trying to say is that i'm losing faith in fusebox' writing team, there's definitely not enough women in there, and the ones that are, i don't think they're listening to them... i don't know who they fired, but they need to bring them back.
i have little to no hope for season 4.

Pairing: Lucas x MC
Prompt: Lucas’ apology to MC after he switches to Blake is out of character and just downright shitty. As well as the islanders behaviours when Blake arrives. Had to fix it!
It was a beautiful night. From the roof terrace, there seemed to be a million stars, and the moon was full – somehow it seemed to be bigger than it looked back home. It was a shame Lucas couldn’t relax and enjoy the view… But he was the only one to blame.
A shaky breath left his lips as his hands gripped the balustrade, his knuckles turning white and his head hanging low. You will come up there at any minute and he would have to face the aftermath of his mistake, look at you in the eyes and explain why he decided to break your heart. He had to think about what to say, how to express his feelings properly to make you understand and, with luck, open a little the door to forgiveness.
