Maxine’s 13th Birthday (2023)
I already mentioned in the past we had a blast going to Oaks Park near her Birthday but that was more coincidence. Her actual birthday celebration was going to Comic Con with her best friend Ruby.
They dressed up and planned and talked about it for months a head of time. They had a blast. Though near her birthdate this however did not occur on the actual day.
On the actual day she got a donut and I realized as I was about to take the photo that we had no matches or a lighter, so we made fake flames for the candles and she pretended to blow them out.
Also on her birthday she got unlimited screen time for the day. This is a big deal for this kiddo.
She has a list of things to do before she can get screen time otherwise (exercise, art, reading, sewing, practicing piano etc.) but not on her birth date.
As you can see from the photo she played a video game on one screen while watching a show on another screen. She was so excited to do this, and so grateful and kind all day.
Numerous times throughout the day she thanked and hugged me. She would tell me every time she decided to play a different video game, and keep me posted on her progress as well. It made me really happy to see her so happy.
I love this kiddo. Couldn’t ask for a better daughter…

Kellogg’s Eat Your Mouth Off cereal is the worst cereal I’ve ever had & only cereal ever unanimously disliked by all 3 members of this un-picky house hold. We couldn’t finish & threw away an almost full box.
The box calls it: “Deliciousness… the definition of good taste…”

Pretty chill Easter. Did the usual egg stuff, went on a picnic, and Maxine always requests that I make a scavenger hunt for her. I assumed she would feel too old for it, but she still loves it. Special thanks to Mom and Sarah for making it another fun holiday for this kiddo…

I went to show a home in 2022 and this apartment complex was across the street. After the showing the listing agent asked what my client thought of the home and I just responded something like “good luck selling this place,” (in regard of course to the signs). She responded back just with a crying emoji…

Anyone want this? Worn approx. 1,000 times (I don’t wear things more than a thousand times)…
This is the famous jacket I was wearing a few years back when I was attacked in downtown Portland (not the only time) and punched in the face (while almost high on DayQuil) by a black drug addict (rare in PDX) who proceeded to run across the street afterwards and call a white guy the n-word. (True story.)
I pulled my knife, he fled and my nose started bleeding all over this jacket, the DayQuil prevented me from feeling a thing (great medicine, highly recommend). My girlfriend thoroughly cleaned this (because she’s a womannnnn) and it looks good as new.
I’m getting rid of it partly because it’s a tad tight but in my defense I do wear three thicc layers under it always, and it’s always been a tad tight, and I just wanted to reward myself with one of those stretchier jean jackets, that can grow as my body grows…
