I really want to stress that I’ve been only posting on Twitter for the past few months. I have a number of followers here (although it seems nearly all of you are inactive or don’t care at all anyway), but only a couple on Twitter.
Even if you have no interest in keeping up with me there (or don’t even know or care who I am), I’d appreciate it if you reblogged this to drum up more interest.
For people who aren’t aware, I’m an amateur wildlife photographer and I sell prints and stuff on Redbubble. It’s currently my only source of income. I post exclusively on Twitter at the moment via @SmirkDog_Photo.

For those who don’t know, I run the Twitter (and former Tumblr) for Smirk Dog Photography, and I take pictures of wildlife. Mostly birds.
Since things like promoted listings just cause me to lose money in the end, I thought I’d put together a quick promo post for my shops, since it can get a bit confusing with there being two of them.
Redbubble I find is best for larger items like canvas prints, posters, pillows, tote bags, etc. I get a smaller percentage of the profit, but it offers the best for those items for the people buying them.
Here’s a few places to get started:

Etsy is better for small things like pins, bag tags, and phone cases. I have a smaller selection of items there currently, but I’m more easily able to provide custom items upon request. So if there’s a specific photo that you like that you want on a certain item, I can make it happen for you. I also get a larger percent of the profits there.

I don’t post new photos and updates here anymore due to low traffic and engagement (though you can still look through my archive of photos at @smirkdog-photography – good for finding photos you want for custom orders). So all of my new photos are on Twitter.

I don’t normally do these sort of things because it’s usually not very dire, but…
My laptop is on its last leg. I’ve had it since 2013, and it’s endured a lot (even getting clattered around with all our stuff during the wildfire evacuation back in 2016). But it’s showing its age, and I’m afraid one day it’s going to stop entirely. I already had to replace the battery about a month ago, and there’s some unknown problem that causes the monitor to just shut off completely, forcing a reboot. One day it might just stay off for good.
Nowadays it might not be a big deal with how useful phones are, but I need my laptop for my photography. And photography is literally All I Have.
So I’m reaching out to the internet people in hopes I could scrape together some money for a replacement. I have some of my own, but not nearly enough. I’m looking at refurbished ones because they’re cheaper, so I think in total I’ll need about another $700 more.
I’ve made a PayPal pool here to collect and publicly keep track of how much I’ve received, but for people who are more comfortable giving money if they get something back (which is okay, I get it), I also have an Etsy and Redbubble shop for my photography. Etsy is better overall because I get a higher percentage of the profit, but I find Redbubble is better for prints and other large items.
Please, I really really need this. If you can’t contribute I understand, but reblogging this would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes posts get jumbled and left with little explanation, so I thought I’d make a quick post with some links and info.
Redbubble – This is for when you like one of my photos and just want to buy a print, phone case, sticker, etc. outright. It’s more convenient overall because you just pick what you want and it comes to you without any work on your part. Just like buying any other product. The overall cost is the highest available.
Ko-fi (Donations) – This is for when you want to support me but maybe can’t afford to buy something from me or just aren’t interested. The minimum amount to tip is $3 CAD (approx. $2.30 USD). This is the lowest cost option.
Ko-fi (To purchase a digital download) (NEW!) – If you donate over 3 ‘coffees’ worth ($9 CAD / ~$7 USD) you’re eligible to request a digital download of any of my photos I’ve posted here or in my Redbubble store. It would be the highest quality available and an uncompressed PNG. You can do whatever you want with it, except resell it (please don’t do that, it hurts me in the end). Doing this will require sending me an ask or IM with your request. I’ll respond with a link to your download via Mediafire.
Maybe it’s not much of a masterpost after all. 😓 Either way, reblogging this and maybe tipping me or buying something would really help me out.

Since there’s a sharp decrease in users on Tumblr now, whether they deleted or were so pixelated that they don’t really exist anymore, I want to stress again that I’m moving to Twitter. It has a larger user base and much more exposure as a result, so if I want to get anywhere with my photography I’ll be doing it there instead of here.
So follow me on Twitter at @SmirkDog_Photo, and also @smirkdog.photography on Instagram. I don’t post on the latter much, but that will likely be changing soon.
