Does Lalo have a human lie detector like Tuco, or does he just go off vibes?
It's my headcanon that Tuco's lie detector is actually him trying (and failing) to be like Lalo, because Lalo uses strategic silence all the time - for example, when he's discussing the Domingo situation with Nacho in 5x02. Lalo asks Nacho a couple questions, and then says nothing. Nacho fills in the silence with an offer to have his childhood friend killed if Lalo thinks it's necessary (oh Nachito). The strategic use of silence can get all sorts of information out of people.
But Tuco completely doesn't understand the point of the technique - he thinks just staring at people like a psycho will give him the ability to tell if they're being honest or not. We know it doesn't work because Nacho tells Mike he shot Dog, even though Dog was innocent.
I imagine one day Tuco witnessed Lalo skillfully using the technique to catch someone in a lie, and then an awestruck Tuco asked how he did it, and Lalo tapped his temple and said "it's my lie detector detector technique" and gave him one of his fail winks, and then Tuco was like "he's the coolest 🥺"

I want to thank whoever spoke highly of the miniseries Ripley with Andrew Scott in a post recently on my dash. I just finished watching it and it was phenomenal in so many ways!

BCS color theory - minor characters edition
Ernesto is true blue
Marco is red, of course
Francesca is mostly in neutral tones, which makes sense, although she notably is wearing blue when Jimmy manipulates her to join the dark side (notice Jimmy in purple - a mix of legal blue and illegal red)
Erin is fittingly in gray - her legal philosophy is the opposite of colorful
Omar is also in gray, plus a hint of blue
Lyle is ride-or-die for his yellow-coded boss
Bill Oakly is bluer than I remember - it fits because he's so deeply associated with the law
Paige is mostly in black, a color I haven't talked a lot about yet. Mike is our major character who is most associated with black, and I think it fits Paige too - no nonsense, just doing her job
