A commission I got from @slimeshade some time ago! I adore it so so much, absolutely obsessed with it actually, especially with how my PK looks in its style

ID start: An art page of the Pale King and Pure Vessel from Hollow Knight. In the top left corner, the Pale King lays curled around baby Pure Vessel, holding them with his tail, with his face pressed close to them and a hand resting on their head. In the top right corner, the Pale King is sitting with the baby Pure Vessel under a nigh sky, pointing and showing them the stars. On the left of the page, the Pure Vessel approaches their father as he works in his workshop, they bonk their heads together in a greeting before they sit down next to him. I'm not gone yet. Kind of sparse and hiding for my own sake, yeah, but still holding on here. Happy to see you're around, too ✨

I didn’t mean that.” Desperate, grasping for a ledge she knew she had already fallen past, she took their hand in both of hers and held it, folding their claws inward and pressing their knuckles to her chest, where they could no doubt feel the hurried beat of her heart. “I am not angry with you.”

They did not look at her, staring fixedly up at the ceiling as they panted, vents fluttering open and closed beneath their mask. Nothing she had said appeared to sink in; they lay there like they were already wounded, already struck down by whatever punishment she might devise, veins open and willing to bleed.
