I do not get why "nepo baby" is supposed to be an insult. You're either good or you're not. How you got a foot in the door is irrelevant. In many ways it's not different than taking up "the family business" in any other way. I literally do not Get It.

I got my lobes pierced when I was 12, so elementary school. I added more over the years when I was in high school and then took those out, but got my conch pierced when I was 27. So I have my lobes and conch currently.

here's the thing. I don't think that men and women can't be friends. I do think, however, that some men can't be friends with women. bc they are misogynists and don't see women as people. so if you as a man say men and women can't be friends I think you're telling on yourself

Largely because I refused to play children’s music in my car since day 1 Leah knows a wide variety of music. And because she’s curious she always asks who the singers are and if I know I tell her.

Recently she asked who the “best singers ever” were. We told her most people would probably name Freddie Mercury or Whitney Houston. She loved the idea of a girl being the best singer ever and got really into Whitney Houston.

Flash forward to today. We don’t have anything readily available for dinner so Leah and I swing by the store on our way back from her ballet class.

The store is playing “I want to dance with somebody”. Leah hears the song and remarks “I hear Whitney Houston!” a woman walking past was simply gobsmacked that my tiny child knew of and could identify Whitney Houston, and quickly at that. Just utter disbelief and amazement.

this morning am also obsessed with “you and I go from one kiss to getting married” because one interpretation of it is a whirlwind romance, jumping in feet first consequences be damned (the “one glimpse” of it all), but another is just about how quickly the years go by. One day you’re kids caught up in the rush of new love, the next it’s a decade later and you have a whole life together. The years may be long but they also go by in the blink of an eye and there’s a whole lot of life that happens in between that feels like it flew by and slipped through your fingers (the “I gave you all that youth for free” of it all). It just says so much in such a simple phrase.
