Another part of Peacock! Carol: I feel a big part of her story would be her needing to learn to stand tall and be more assertive. Peacock in canon has minions that respect her and actively fear her wrath, but Carol's far more passive than Patricia, so she'd probably end up with creations that walk all over her, don't respect her and contribute to the slapstick she suffers. On top of that, people that already bullied her before she became Peacock have even more incentive to do so now because it's funny to say... trip her down the stairs in the school hallways, and watch her bounce down before slamming headfirst into the floor at the bottom and end up with her upper body flattened into a disc shape for example. Carol's story here could be about finding the will to stand up not just for people in need, but also demand the respect she deserves from those around her and lessen the 'comedic' abuse she takes. Basically give the 'designated butt monkey' trope a slightly tragic spin, because while it's presented in a comical manner, it's still very much her being bullied and really needs to stop sooner than later, and make it cathartic when she stops tolerating that sort of treatment.

I imagine Peacock! Carol basically can't seem to do anything without hurting herself in some way. She's clumsy and awkward and her combat emphasizes that. She pulls out a bomb, and it blows up in her face. She could have an attack that's basically just her tripping, sliding across the floor, getting her upper body stuck in the dirt as she furrows a tunnel and needing to pull herself out, with each step of this causing damage. One attack, she gets engulfed in flames and tackles the foe in a blind panic before crumbling to ash and needing to reform herself. Another, she accidentally gets her foot caught in a rope and gets flung all across the stage into various hazards like a thorn bush, a beehive surrounded by angry bees, something that engulfs her in flames, etc and bounces around the stage at random, fast intervals like a pinball to smash into the foe from all angles before coming to a stop and revealing her as a puddle on the floor with blinking eyes before reforming her body, just going all in on the cartoon violence.

just something I wanna share with someone: imagine an AU where Patricia and Carol switch roles, so Patricia ends up becoming Painwheel, while Carol ends up as Peacock. Like, I'm imagining Patricia as Painwheel being just this completely unhinged, cackling lunatic that thrives in bringing the same pain she's suffering onto others, whereas Carol as Peacock retains the sweet gentle cinnamon roll side she used to be in canon... but while Patricia as Peacock was the instigator, akin to Bugs Bunny, Carol as Peacock would be the unfortunate victim, akin to Wile E. Coyote or Tom, where her toon powers actively work AGAINST her while she's too durable to be really incapacitated by it, and her foe just keeps getting caught in the crossfire.

OOOO i absolutely love this AU, god the idea of this poor sweethearted carol as peacock whose cartoon esque powers are her own downfall and make her go through stuff only a cartoon could? and these accidents and mistakes and cartoon gags are how she fights is such a cool idea Meanwhile genuinely with patricia as painwheel and becoming this cackling lunatic? she may very well be the most dangerous character and would remind me almost of black dahlia in an unhinged wild sort of way. even more so than dahlia herself.
