saw the new Godzilla movie and it got me thinking about how devestating it is to use a horrific apocalypse monster of sacrilegious scale to make art about the devestating bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki.
the size of the impact, it's power, destructiveness. godzilla is a striking use of our primal / fundamental anxieties to reflect on the hopeless horror of living in a doomed post-bomb society.
fucked up unsettling scary music is important to me, so here's two albums that i think illicit the same kind of carnally excruciating fear response as godzilla:
both are kind of industrial and use sounds that are rocky and manufactured. they feel like choking on fiberglass, getting your hand mutilated in a factory accident, and getting dusted in asbestos. they provide large, forboding atmospheres that feel like they smother you in a weighted blanket of doom. super cool.
enjoy,
will

What is Skinless Creature?
every day we are forced into the horror of performance. people like me are beholden to the judgement of everyday people, who analyze our dress, our words, our history, as if analyzing a piece of art. even when alone-  in the mirror you must perform.. lest you see the uncanny eyes of something dissonant to the soul.
to observers, we are iterated- every concept of ourselves we try to express, no matter how profound or true, is abstracted into something less through the process of being perceived.
this blog is part of my journey in personal esthetic.  it is impossible to change how you are simplified and controlled by other peoples’ ‘understanding’ of you. pattern recognizing monkey creatures cram you into their worldview, just as you bottle them into yours. the dissimilarity of how i feel and how i am able to seen has left me with only one tool to avoid self-cannibalizing: seeking and performing an interpretation of self that i can be content.
for me, art can be the flashlight that shines into the dustiest and most cavernous parts of my spirit. it’s easy to say ‘i don’t like that,’ but to understand why is oftentimes a revelation in self-concept. through consumption and analysis, i work to live a more truthful and honest life. i work towards projecting the form of who I am so that maybe the man in the mirror looks more like a friend than a stranger.
so that’s the thesis, and here’s the function: skinless creature will talk about music and art. skinless creature will post a lot of pinterest content. it will be cool. but if its lame you can let me know too (if youre reading this).
thanks,
will
