💭 + was it easy or difficult for Sizhui to learn guqin? How does he feel about his skills overall?
Sizhui was small when he decided that he wanted to learn how to play the Guqin. It started with being snuggled on Wangji's lap while he played. It went from there to a tiny Yuan strumming the strings and finding absolute amazement at the sound that came from it. From then on out he watched with wide eyes. Taking in everything that his baba did.
Yuan learned early on he had a ear for the music, and he even mimicked very well. In fact he learned to play inquiry at a very early age. Due to Wangji playing it so often. He could play it by ear, but he did not understand what he was doing and Wangji had to save him from a spirit he inevitably summoned. Simply by playing and not adding a command within his works.
After this he began his lessons.
Sizhui himself is worried he isn't as good as he actually is. He has some concern that he wasn't as skilled as he would like to be. ( Especially when father Wei asked him if he would play ) He knows the notes and the meaning behind them in his sleep.
At first he was less confident in his abilities sure he was just copying his baba. It improved with the time and the actual questioning of his abilities ( by Jin Ling ) about how he played if he did it right and if he knew what he was doing.
He did and he has since begun to alter the original creating a technique of his own. Which combines Wei Wuxian's ability to view a spirits past with the ability to communicate with it on the guqin giving him the ability to travel into the spirits last moments and view them.
More so, Sizhui has begun to create his own songs for various means. He learned music can be altered and he is always looking for a way to help others. He was inspired by what happened to Xiao Xingchen and has begun crafting a healing spell for spirits in hopes of giving Song Lan aid with A-Qing and Xiao XIngchen.

If he did not have Lan strength he would have very likely been on the ground in a tangle. Instead he rocked back on his feet a little to catch her and steady her. She was excited to see him and it was always a delight to see her in return. His hands were gently in motion patting the many tails that were wrapped around him. They were supposed to be laying low not being obvious. Still the softness of the tails was nice and he liked the warmth that was around them both when she coiled them about the two of them.
"I say so." he said gently but with reassurance.
Fingers rubbed the nibbled spot but he smiled "Uncle Ning and I wound up farther away than we would have liked to be. It had to do with someone trying to smuggle in poison." he explained as he hugged her once the tails had been hidden. "So I was kept away longer due to being very careful, I had no desire to get poisoned."

It was IMPULSIVE, perhaps - someone could have seen, and then her harmless regular mortal cover would’ve been blown - but she couldn’t help herself. Offers him a sheepish smile. “…Sorry, instinct.”

She held her fingers to her lips as she motioned for the other  disciples not to alert Sizhui to her presence. With light steps, Mulan moved behind him, before bouncing to her toes as she reached to cover his eyes playfully in a game eager to surprise him with her unannounced visit, “guess who.”
He was quietly instructing the students on the proper posture with sword play. He didn’t want them miss handling or worse just waving their blade around like it was a stick. That could cause harm not only to the disciple but to anyone near them. It was truly a beginner class for the subject. The disciples were mostly children in fact.
Sizhui tended to keep his finger on the pulse of visitors mostly because when certain people visited there was unnecessary drama. His fathers were not home though they had taken some of the older students on a Night Hunt, leaving Sizhui to keep an eye over the younger.
This was never a problem because he was easily likable and the youth looked up to him. He guessed this was what it was like for his baba. The adoration was not terrible just a little unsettling for such a private boy. He had sheathed his blade when suddenly the soft floral scent drifted over him and there was warm darkness over his eyes.
He knew her of course he did.
How could he not ? She has a certain energy about her.
“Hmmm...” he hummed and he would have teased a little bit but they were in the presence of his students. “I was not aware the Jiang were visiting, Hua Mulan.” he gave her answer and caught his hand over hers in a brief touch. Than he turned to bow to her. “Welcome to Cloud Recesses.” he said fondly. “ Are you here alone, or have you come with your Sect.” he inquired a glance over his shoulder followed.
“Dismissed.” he said to the children who were grinning or giggling. “Remember to practice the act of sheathing your blade and properly unsheathing it. I will be looking for the most improved tomorrow.” he advised.
Waiting for the students to filter out he shifted his attention with a smile.
“How long will you be able to stay ?” he inquired.
