Can't believe there's an anime out there where nearly a third of the cast is trans, some of the trans characters don't subscribe to the idea of traditional masculinity/femininity while still being respected, some choose to remain closer to their biological sex than others while still being respected, many of (but not all) the trans characters show the physical signs of transitioning later in life despite the problems it might've caused them, a show that cuts a clear difference between actual trans characters and a criminal who pretends to be trans to get people's guard down (without this ever being held against a single genuinely trans character), an anime where the butt of most jokes is not a trans character but rather a white guy who isn't used to interacting with trans people (but he remains respectful), where one of the most heartwarming moments in the entire show was a special episode dedicated to a trans mother meeting with her child for the first time in years and choosing to momentarily abandon her gender expression for the comfort of her son – only to find out she actually had a trans daughter who will accept her no matter what...

Like I get why you'd be upset with how she looks because it's a common caricature but if you watch for more than five seconds, I promise you nobody ever makes fun of her for being buff or having a beard and nobody misgenders her and it is never once even implied that she is anything less than a lady. Plus, you get more traditionally feminine trans women if you just watch a little longer.

PSA: Don't use Open Office

I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.

Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.

Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!
