Anakin was no stranger to mental health struggles - he often suffered beneath the weight of his own mind and it's constant betrayal, but this insecurity had seemingly come out of no where. He'd spent a lot of time with Aurora since they'd met, and he was happy to do so, happy to help her, happy to simply be with her. And yet he had to wonder, did she feel the same? Why would someone like him as much as he liked them? It seemed improbable. This dampened his mood, made him appear sullen, which she seemed to notice.

Finally, he could not delay it any longer. "Do you like me? Are we friends?" He all but blurted, knowing he sounded like a petulant baby but unable to help it. She'd never given him any reason to doubt, never made him question. He'd simply woken up that morning feeling like an imposter in his own life. "I mean, if I wasn't a witch. If I couldn't help you." His expression was earnest, sincere, his eyes fixed on her.

Hello, I realized I never shared this here and it's not super important unless we interact frequently but it might provide some context to some of my behaviors: I am pretty sure I'm autistic. The wait to be formally diagnosed where I am is paywalled and at least five years but I have been looking into it and it makes a lot of sense. I also have ADHD (a lot of my symptoms overlap) and I have bipolar ii (depression). It's very interesting for me to consider bc looking back, a lot of it checks out.

I have spoken to friends and family members and the majority are in agreement. If my quirks or behavior seems strange to you or awkward or whatever, that's probably because it is. I appreciate open communication so that if I make an error or upset you, you can find a kind way to tell me so I can correct myself. Also, if you think you might have autism, I wholeheartedly encourage you to look into it more. My diagnosis was probably missed because I am a girl and also I have ADHD.

It's made me feel like I'm not totally going crazy and that maybe there are actual reasons for some of the things happening in my life. Neurodivergency is rarely visible and we should be kind to everyone, regardless of whether they are autistic etc. A diagnosis doesn't mean you need to tip toe around a person but it does sometimes help to make sense of a behavior. Treat everyone with the love and respect you'd like to receive and it will always come back to you.
