Jordan didn't catch Layla's depression the first round or the second so I thought they were rewriting it so he'll get his chance but nope, he's still not seeing it and another man is. They chose continuity in characters. That of course Jordan wouldn't notice. He never has.

Let's not forget, Jordan being the one to argue Olivia was worrying too much about Layla's friendship with Carrie and that she should just leave it alone RIGHT BEFORE CARRIE TRIES TO THROW LAYLA OFF A CLIFF. They had Jordan again tell Olivia, who is always concerned about Layla, to leave it alone right before the worst happens? He didn't even feel Olivia's concern for Layla as something he needs to be concerned about. Man said let it happen.

Let's not forget, Jordan being the one to argue Layla is fine at the HEIGHT of her depression arc. This was the SAME DAY, THE SAME EPISODE she had her full breaking point and agreed to go get help. He was the only one to see her as okay. She was at her worst.

Layla is showing signs of depression and this man did not just say you look fine to me but sure I'LL LET YOU GET BACK TO BEING OVERWHELMED!

Layla being so happy when it comes to planning out the decor and reimagining a cafe but don't wanna be bothered to think about planning her own wedding. She likes planning things so just not... that.

Jordan's proposal to Layla was because of the death of his father, he realized how precious the moment is and tomorrow isn't promised. That's why he proposed. Because his fathers death was so sudden, he felt he can't wait. You have to just go for it. I want you to be my wife. Now. So how did that turn into we're getting married in 2 years? We're waiting for me to graduate. Like the immediate next episode. So the entire proposal speech about just going for it, and it's fast but I want this now- is just immediately null and void? The speech was already grief riddled but now the reasoning is out the window so I guess so is the engagement?

Patience got stabbed a year ago. Meaning, Layla has been blaming herself for it for an ENTIRE YEAR AND THREE MONTHS. And Jordan had no clue. Not even like oh yeah I think she would be feeling a way about this. NO CLUE. NO IDEA. Ryan spent time with her and noticed first.

I saw a spoiler for All American Homecoming a few weeks back and it made me happy people can finally see this show was only created to torture Simone. Hurt her mentally. Now it's physically.

I think if you step back, Homecoming has TERRIBLE individual storylines. There’s nothing about the current or individual storylines that I give a fuck about. They can stop all of them right now and redirect and I wouldn’t care because none of them matter really.

I hate Keisha’s storyline. She has the worst one on the show. I hate Cam’s storyline. I hate Thea’s storyline I hate Damon’s storyline. I hate Nate’s storyline. Love Nate as a character. Marcus... he’s honestly the only one I’m kinda interested in. Like he’s giving storyline wise but not character wise. I don’t like his character. I like his storyline a bit. Being married still gagged me. Like I’m so invested. Amara... Simone needs her but her individual storyline I’m yawning. 

The show is CARRIED by Simone’s love life and love options because the show made it that way. There’s nothing else to grasp onto or care about because they didn’t choose to focus on Simone’s dream/tennis the way they should have. They made it all about her love life and now both her love interest are not able to be in every episode. She can’t choose either of them because she can’t date either of them without the boy going MIA.. the actors aren’t main. It will feel very empty and weak and unfinished no matter who she picks or waits to the end to pick. They’ll be coming in an out. It won’t be every episode. There can’t be enough scenes. I think if she chooses Damon or Lando, it’ll do the relationship injustice and people will be unhappy either way. ANd that sucks. Because I really did love Lando and would love to have seen her explore that genuinely episode by episode.

Acting like All American just doesn't understand grief and that's why their moment was in the middle of it is the dumbest take I've seen. Like I wasn't trying to say anything but acting like oh this show just didn't understand not to do it like that. Oh no. They understand grief better than any show I've seen. All American knows having romantic moments in grief damages moments and that's why they do it. It's not an accident. This whole point of ignoring what's going on around them because it has nothing to do with the romantic moment- but it does. They want you to be like, ugh but why now his dad just died. They want THAT reaction during those moments as they do them. They don't want you to ignore it. Dimone and Jordayla's moments weren't by accident. The show wasn't trying to be like look Dimone's first time and Jordayla's proposal is the EPITOME of romance (ignore the grief). They wanted the audience to side eye the timing of it. And you know how you would know that, if you watch the show. Because the writing says it over and over. The writing called Simone out for trying to confess to Damon after his dad died. How they treated Spencer and Olivia, the couple they will always protect first and foremost, Spencer said we can't say our feelings right now. We have to be clearheaded. Nate calling it out, Spencer saying we can't right now. They KNOW it taints the moment.

If you are having a big moment in grief. It's not an accident baby girl.
