OK, had to reblog to talk about Versace Eros Silvio because it was actually a perfume I was considering for him lmaooo. I was STRUGGLING with Rio and I thought the note breakdown of Eros Flame suited him, and then thought that there was a lot about Eros that could suit Silvio, and since I like being match-y I thought it would be cute.
In the end Eros Flame did NOT suit Rio (imo) so the whole thing got thrown out but I’m glad someone made it to the Versace Eros Silvio conclusion.
(A/N): Some IkePri as Roommates Headcanons, because my own roommate is making me want to eat my cactus. :,)

Part... something. Oh boy, I've been waiting for this one. This is probably one of my favourite perfumes of all time, maybe someday I'll get sick of it but I genuinely doubt it. If you've never smelled By the Fireplace, please try to, I HEAVILY INSIST.
By the Fireplace is one of the most pleasant, comforting, amazing things I've ever smelled. I took one whiff and was absolutely obsessed with it. By the Fireplace smells like your clothes the day after you've been sitting around a campfire, like when you take your hoodie off at the end of the night and the next day you can smell that warm smoky scent on it. I love that scent, it's comforting, it's warm, it's nostalgic, it's just so perfect. Gilbert..... I'm not gonna pretend to know a lot about him, but if I'm remembering correctly in canon it's said that he has a generally pleasant demeanor and outward appearance that is pretty contrasting with how he actually is underneath. I think By the Fireplace probably helps him with that act, like a fire when you're cold, it makes you want to get closer to feel it's warmth.
Gil is smart (obviously) and so I have no doubt in my mind that he would use everything possible to make him to appear exactly as he wants to other people. I imagine Obsidian as being a rather cold snowy country, especially given how big it is the North seems like it would be a very chilly place. Scent and memory are so heavily connected, he would definitely be aware that wearing a perfume that resembles a warm crackling fire would subconsciously attract people to him. In a cold kingdom who doesn't want to be warm?
Now for me to wax poetic; I said that this is a scent that would help him with his nice guy act, but the funny thing is is that this perfume isn't at all a lie. Yes, a fire is nice and warm and comforting, it makes you feel safe and at home. But fire is still fire, if you get too close you will burn. Fire doesn't just burn things, it changes them so completely what's left afterwards isn't at all a semblance of what it was, it destroys.
I'm sure Gil has more going on than I'm aware of, and I'm sure he's not a complete monster and there's some soft smol boy inside there somewhere. But for now this is the best I can do. To sum it all up I'll leave you with a quote from a living legend:

Lucky number seven! I'll be slow writing some of these until the weekend. I know I said I wasn't gonna go in order but it just sort of happened this way regardless. I had this entire thing written up for Dior Sauvage and Yves Saint Laurent Y before I stopped and reconsidered. Pretend this is the original formula of La Nuit de l'Homme, the newer stuff is a shadow of it's former self :(
This one was supposed to be easy, Nokto 100% seems like one of those guys that BATHES in Dior Sauvage, but I couldn't to do him dirty like that. Don't get me wrong, Sauvage isn't a bad perfume, it's wildly popular because people like it, it's just extremely strong. I decided to tone it down and give him something not quite as in-your-face as Sauvage, and that's how I ended up with Yves Saint Laurent's La Nuit de l'Homme.
In this perfume the cardamom is definitely at the forefront, it's rich and warm and spicy despite it being classified as an aromatic fragrance. I think why it suits Nokto better than any of my other choices is because of it's duality: it's hot and cold, it's spicy and powdery, it's citrusy and rich. Nokto is someone, like many of the princes, that hides behind a well-crafted mask; he crams everything that he doesn't want people so see behind it, and because of that it obstructs and distorts his vision of reality. La Nuit de l'Homme is what I think is behind the mask. It has a spicy opening that's exciting and enthralling before it transforms and dries down into a lovely gentle warm lavender. LNDL is more of an intimate scent, it doesn't leave a large scent trail and isn't meant to fill a room, only when you're close can you really appreciate it. Does all that sound like someone we know? I think so.
Back to Sauvage, because I truly disrespected this man for thinking of sticking with this. Sauvage is his mask, it's what covers up and fills in everything that he's hidden away. Sauvage is overcompensating, it's a trick to make you think he's something that he's not; just like how his vision looking beyond the mask is unclear, our vision looking in is obstructed by a great big cloud of Dior Sauvage. It's big and distracting, it's the perfect place for him to hide.
Honourable mention: Givenchy Gentleman Boisee Eau de Parfum
As a flanker this one has a very strong resemblance to the others in the Gentleman line, Boisee is extremely similar to Reserve Privee except where Reserve Privee is extremely soft and doesn't have any woody sharpness to it, Boisee does. I think it it's the perfect in-between the original and Reserve Privee. Boisee is a softer alternative to La Nuit de l'Homme, it's something Nokto would like when he wants to feel cozy and warm.

Part.... six? Probably. Not much to say here, I thought I posted this earlier but it was just sitting at the bottom of my drafts, oops. Nokto likely won't be next, I'm going to just go in order of what I feel like from now on. OK bye.
If I were being completely honest I would leave this blank, I genuinely do not think Licht is someone that would wear perfume or anything fragrant in general. In my last post with Yves I said that Licht is someone who is probably "cleaner" smelling than some of the others, but after pondering it more he probably has a pleasant light musk smell. I do think that between him and Nokto, he probably carries a more natural masculine scent than Nokto, but we'll get into that in his post later.
Now to the perfume: Perles de Lalique is marketed as women's perfume, however it it generally accepted to be unisex and is probably worn more by men than women. Perles de Lalique is crazy when you first smell it, it's opening has this incredibly strong and sharp blast that overpowers your senses and shocks you, but once you let it sit and dry down you get this beautiful, dry, powdery iris. This is a perfume that is pretty aggressive and mean when you first smell it, but as you wait and take your time you start to appreciate the uniqueness of it's profile. This isn't a soft, gentle, warm hug of a perfume, it's strong, and sharp, and rigid, like a rock. Licht is a soft boy, he really is, but he is also serious, solid, and practical.
The more I think about Perles de Lalique the more I wonder how I reached this for him, but for all the things I'm thinking I can't seem to get them down in words. Even still, now that I've sat down and spent so long thinking about it, I don't feel like I could find another answer if I tried. Perles de Lalique feels so unique and individualistic to me, I think it would suit a lone wolf like Licht very well.

Emma's perfumes....
Leon, Jin, Yves, and Licht edition
Even thought I started this because I wanted to take a break from the suitors, this still ended up being about them.... but this time it's featuring Emma! I ended up taking a lot of detours while I was writing this so not everybody’s will be the same/cover the same things. For the most part I just wanted to talk about what perfume or overall scents I think Emma would wear, as well as the suitors preferences and thoughts about perfume in general.
Leon Dompteur
Chloe Eau de Parfum, a modern take on classic florals that keeps it simple. I think Chloe EDP is extremely straightforward, what you see is what you get, and what you get is an amazing fresh, watery rose. Despite being a rose scent but it isn't overly powdery or dry, the white florals and sweet litchi keep is young and a bit playful. Overall I think it's the ideal rose scent for Emma, and I think it's something that both her and Leon would like immensely.
in general... for as fruity and feminine as Chloe EDP is, I think Leon's someone who would find women that wear men’s fragrances to be super hot
Jin Grandet
Marc Jacobs Decadence, a deep, rich, fruity floral. I'm not someone that usually likes plum, but the combination of iris and plum in this is to die for. I do think this scent is a bit heavy for Emma, but Jin would be so wild for it she'd have to put it on sometimes to throw the guy a bone. I think Jin is someone that would like darker fruits like plum and berries, specifically cherry. Now, for Emma, I think she would like something like Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, it's a clean, soapy berry perfume. It is a Fantasy flanker so it's sweetness can seem young, but I don't think it's anywhere near the level of Fantasy itself. It smells like a nice blueberry soap, light and clean.
in general... I definitely see Jin as being someone who likes sensual, rich, gourmand and fruity scents. Things with plum, coffee, vanilla, rum.... very heavy and deep notes. He'd also be partial to berries, specifically cherry and blackberry.
Yves Kloss
Floral Street Wonderland Peony, a fruity floral with a bit of sweet gourmand at it's base notes. If I were to describe it in three words they would be cute, happy, and playful! It's not what you'd get for your typical peony perfume, instead of being a soft, romantic floral it's a fun, juicy, almost fresh perfume. I think for Emma this perfume perfectly balances out being whimsical while still staying out of the realm of being childish. The peony in this is quite subdued, but I think that's because it's laying low balancing out everything else going on with it.
in general... I think Yves is more drawn to sweet and gourmand scents on others because he himself probably doesn't feel comfortable wearing them. If you want to burrow your way into this guy's heart wear a gourmand perfume and say it's because it reminds you of him and his baking.
Licht Klein
Nothing. I'm sorry, I just think he would not care. He's definitely someone that likes the intimacy of being familiar with someone's natural scent. If anything, he'd probably enjoy the scent of someone's conditioner or lotion or something, but I can't see him liking something that's worn for the sole purpose of smelling good like perfume. However, If I ABSOLUTELY had to pick, the only thing that comes to mind is Maison Martin Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning, it's a very light soapy, slightly rose-y perfume.
in general... Licht just does not care. I don't think he'd hate perfume, he's just so absolutely neutral on it that it means nothing to him. If it was something that you love and makes you happy he will probably compliment you once in a while, but mostly because he knows it makes you happy.

Part 5 :) OK listen, I haven’t done Yves’ route and I’m not incredibly familiar with him so I struggled a bit trying to get something that felt right. I went through A LOT trying to find something I was satisfied with, but somehow, even though it was not at all what I was looking for, Nomade fit the bill.
Chloe’s Nomade is classified as a woody citrus, it has a lot of fruits and florals, there’s rose and peach, but also patchouli and sandalwood - it’s interesting to say the least. Nomade is a scent that evolves incredibly. It opens with bright sweet, juicy citruses, then it goes into a rich cinnamon gourmand, once that dies down it changes again and you’re left with a simple mossy amber base. THEN, once you think it’s all done, it changes one more time into a soft and masculine sandalwood and musk, and that’s where it stays.
The initial appearance of this perfume as a chypre floral is incredibly misleading, but it’s because of this and how it journeys into something so complex, that I ultimately made up my mind and chose this for Yves. Yves is a lot more complex than most people give him credit for, and it’s a common theme for him to be reduced to so much less than that.
If I wanted to be incredibly mean and lazy I could have just picked something young, girly, and sweet like Prada Candy or Viva la Juicy, but I didn’t want to do that to my boy. Yves is elegant, he enjoys FINE things, he is TASTEFUL, I think he would definitely want something unique and interesting. Of everyone on this list, Yves would be the one to invest the most time on finding the perfect perfume for himself.
Honourable mention: Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia
I wrote so much I forgot that I should do this part. English Pear & Freesia, another chypre. This is a very light, fruity, watery scent. I think Yves is someone who doesn’t smell in any way. If he’s been in the kitchen that day he probably carries the sweet smell of baked goods, but outside of that I feel like he just smells incredibly clean. So clean it’s like there’s no scent at all. Watery notes, florals, freesia, melon, lotus.... all of these are such light ethereal scents, they would definitely sit well on someone like Yves because they wouldn't have any natural scent to fight for dominance with.

PART FOUR (I think?)
OK listen, I just really can't stand the thought of continuing to do these in order so they might start being mixed up from now on. I have up until Licht written, but after that it's just small blurbs and ideas so I have no clue who to tackle. For anybody that's bothered to read any of these thank you 🥺
When I first thought of Reserve Privee for the princes my mind immediately went to Jin. That changed pretty quickly however, because after walking over to my shelf and giving myself a little spray, the only person running through my mind as I was enveloped in this rich warm scent, was Leon. Quite similarly to Jin’s (MMM Jazz Club), Gentleman Reserve Privee is another smooth boozy scent. This time instead of it being accompanied by something sweet and rich like tobacco leaf, it is strongly complimented by a soft floral iris. OK, yes, I bet you’ve had enough of me talking about iris but I can’t help it, I love it.
Much like our beloved prince Leon, Reserve Privee is effortlessly sexy and smooth. Rather than it being a fragrance that stands out and demands your attention, it’s appeal is more subtle and intimate. It’s something that once you catch even a single whiff, you’re drawn in and lost in it. It’s heavy, and rich, and creamy, and warm - it’s something that drags you under and drowns you. Iris in general can have that effect, but paired with rich chestnut and vanilla it becomes deadly. Which I think perfectly represents our dark, mysterious, deadly, brooding, sexy boy Leon.
Have I done Leon’s route? Yes. Is he my favourite? No. Is the thought of being embraced in his big strong arms while drinking in this beautiful, sensual, intoxicating scent one of the greatest things I’ve ever imagined? Yes, it is..... it really is.
Honourable mention: Montblanc Explorer (again)
When I said it was a safe scent I wasn’t kidding. I’m not being lazy by choosing the same as Jin, but I fully believe that these two probably bought a bottle of it and pass it around to each other whenever the other needs it. Or maybe they get ready together before going to the bar, y’know? Jin helps Leon get his hair to fall moodily across his face just right, and Leon helps Jin pull his clothes a little tighter so the buttons REALLY start to struggle, and then they finish it off by high-fiving and giving each other a little spritz before walking into town arm-in-arm. Whatever the case is, sharing is caring.

Okay, PART THREE! I don't know if I lost my mind sometime during writing this one out, but sorry if this one is kind of a mess. This perfume specifically on Clavis is what first made me start thinking about which perfumes would suit our princes, so thank you Clavis.
I’m incredibly biased because I adore Clavis, but I promise he smells the best out of everyone, ever. Chevalier has him beat at many things, but this is not, and will never be, one of them. If Chev is an iris/rose guy then Clavis is a jasmine/tuberose guy. If Chevalier is a classic, elegant, sophisticated floral then Clavis is a rich, sexy, fresh floral. And that is why I believe, with my whole entire heart, Clavis’s signature scent would be Gucci Bloom. Bloom is marketed as a women’s fragrance, but in this house we don’t care about that, what we care about is how good my man smells. Jasmine and tuberose are both indoles; if you google what an indole is you’ll get some real interesting answers, but the bottom line is that indolic = hot.
White florals are indolic > indoles are hot > Clavis wears white florals > Clavis is hot. These are the truths of the world we live in.
When thinking about perfumes you have to consider chemistry, we all have different body chemistry and so perfumes will always smell a little different to each of us and on each of us. In my mind, Clavis’s natural scent is more masculine and musky leaning than some of the others. Now, he’s not at the level of our Men:Jin, Leon, probably Luke, but at the very least he has more of an authentic human smell than our “cleaner” princes: Chevalier, Yves, Licht (sort of). This is a huge reason why I think that a very feminine floral perfume like Bloom would work wonderfully with him; because even though it’s a scent that doesn’t have a lot of weight at it’s base note, his natural musk would give it the depth it lacks as a very linear white floral.
Honourable mention: ?
I feel so strongly that Gucci Bloom would be so DIVINE on him that I can’t picture anything else. Maybe something like Armani Code Parfum has a good scent profile, but symbolically I don’t like that it’s another iris frag like Chevalier’s. I haven’t smelled/don’t remember any of the Bloom flankers, but let’s assume one of those would be good and just go with that.

Here is part two of what perfumes I think the ikepri boys/men would like to wear (or at least what I think would suit them). I’m sure there are probably better fragrances, but my nose has unfortunately not been able to smell every perfume out there. All of this is based on my little pool of experience, so here it is :)
IRIS! Iris..... beautiful, elegant, powdery, clean. I’ve done Chevalier’s route enough times to know that he smells like roses, but listen, in an alternate universe where he DOESN’T always smell like roses, he’d smell like a very familiar light, powdery floral: iris.
Iris is the best floral and obviously Chevalier deserves the best. L’Homme is iconic, it has this incredible softness from the iris but is still very clearly masculine, more so then Prada’s other iris fragrances like Infusion D’iris and Iris Cedre (which are also both woody iris scents). L’Homme, in my opinion at least, is one of the classiest fragrances made for men. This is something that exudes this air of power and strength, but isn’t loud about it, it’s subtle and delicate. It gently floats towards you and around you instead of aggressively yelling and punching you in the face. I keep talking about the lightness and softness of L’Homme because it is primarily a powdery floral, but it does definitely maintain the DNA of a masculine leaning fragrance. The cedar, patchouli, and pepper make it spicy and add that little bit of bite that it needs to give it depth and bring it back down to it’s woody accords.
The last selling point for me is that it is a high quality perfume, both the projection and performance are spectacular. Chevalier is someone that can’t be bothered to waste his time on useless things, if he had to apply his perfume more than once throughout the day he wouldn’t bother with it. I wish I knew of a rose fragrance that has the same impact as this one, but until I find it L’Homme will continue to be Chevalier’s signature scent in my brain and in my heart.
Honourable mention: Nina Ricci L’Extase Rose Absolue
Marketed as a women’s fragrance, this is a smoky, smooth, red rose. Rose Absolue shares a lot of the same notes as L’Homme, notably cedar, patchouli, and pepper, but they don’t come across quite the same. Don’t get me wrong, Rose Absolue is gorgeous, but where I think it fails to surpass L’Homme is how much the base notes deepen the overall scent profile. The powdery rose is present, but the fullness of the vanilla and the smokiness of the incensey patchouli in the opening make it a little darker than I’d like for Chev. I could see this being an evening scent, and maybe even a sleep scent after the dry-down, but not much more than that for him.

Welcome! To part one of many of my personal opinions on what perfume I think our lovely suitors would wear. There is no way that men that look this good don't smell absolutely amazing too. This is probably going to be an incredibly self-indulgent series, but if even one person reads this and thinks "omg yeah, he would smell like that", then I've done my job.
Ok, for our eldest prince we have MM’s Replica Jazz Club, the first of a few Replica perfumes I’ve picked out for some of our boys. This scent is perfect for Jin, trust me ok? It’s sweet and alluring but also deep, rich, and masculine. For the unaware, Jazz Club smells like tobacco and booze, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like that suits Jin pretty well. Don’t think that smells good? IT DOES, it definitely does. As much as I like to give Jin shit, my guy looks AND smells good 1000% of the time.
I sat on this one for a while wondering if it was really the best choice for him because it’s not your typical strong, woody, musky scent, which is what we usually associate as “manly”. But Jin himself is a already a big strong man (lol), I don’t think he needs a big strong man scent to prove that.
Honourable mention: Montblanc Explorer
Every perfume has it’s limitations. While you CAN wear the same perfume for every occasion, I wouldn’t recommend it. Jin is an intelligent adult man and he knows this. Explorer is an extremely safe perfume but it’s still attractive and impactful. Where Jazz Club is a very warm, indoor, night scent, Explorer is your classic masculine bright, sharp, day scent.

so the single post I had intended to write turned into a lot more than one. I'll hopefully finish everyone at some point but who knows where my willpower will go until then. I got to Yves and my brain shattered, I think the only ones I'm still unsure on are Rio and Sariel. I'm not happy with Licht's but that's only because I genuinely don't think he'd wear anything.
