The next chapter is coming! It's written but I haven't had much time to edit it and it really needs a few good passes before it's let loose. I will probably have to include a "previously on The Forgotten" in the next chapter to catch people up again haha.

My break has been longer than intended, I think due to busy season at work, the holidays, and also the spin-off just being a huge disappointment, but I don't plan for it to be permanent and I will get back to writing again.

Thanks for letting me know that you're still on board to read my stories even if it's been a while, knowing that folks are still around is the best motivation.

You have written so many fics for this fandom that people can go and reread, and it is incredible that after all the bullshit of the last year you are still writing for us and posting regularly. No one would mind if months went by. We are invested and grateful that you do this for free! Thank you for being such an incredible writer ♥️

Thank you, it's been rough with this one and I really hate how easily I've started slipping behind. I never used to have any problems updating regularly but the longer we go without any news on mel or caryl, the more my motivation starts to fade.

I'm trying to fight it because I do still enjoy writing and I still love caryl. It's just a bit of a battle now. Every time I see pics of daryl in suspenders and tiny scarf I'm just like....do I even know you?? And who wants to write after that? :/

I will finish the current story and I will update it hopefully in the next week or so. Thanks for this lovely little note and to everyone that still follows along, knowing people are interested is the main reason I have to keep writing, so it really helps to know that ya'll are still invested in this version of them <3
