My take on ‘teruaoi’ in the new chapter ❗️❗️ (spoilers obviously)
Ive seen people take in the new teruaoi thing differently, from how it could erase akane’s entire personality to the exact opposite, but i think personally the teruaoi thing might be good (for now at least)
for the entire manga since very VERY early on (book 1), it was established that akane was entirely for aoi, not changing himself or pretending to like things aoi likes, but like worshipped her with his entire being, but he seemingly prioritizes her happiness, above actually being with her.
so when he found out teru and aoi were getting engaged, he tried to go back to the clock, and remembered he needed the other clock keepers to do so.
Realizing he can’t do anything, despite how much he doesn’t like it, he lets it be. Maybe aoi’s happier with teru? Who knows.
for just about the first time in the entire manga, this almost COMPLETELY severs akane from aoi, giving him (again for the VERY first time in the almost 10 years tbhk has existed) a chance to be just akane.
we need to remember akane is under the impression teru likes aoi, he might assume since one is happy, the other is too. Whenever teru teases him with ‘what if i asked out akane-san’ he never considers or even thinks aoi will reject him, he assumes they’ll be happy together since teru’s happy (spoiler neither of them are)
rounding this back to my initial point, since aoi is no longer apart of his personality (if he really does accept teruaoi as is) he will act simply as him, not as aoi’s fucking worshipper but yk just him
the only time i think we’ve seen this before is when aoi’s in the far shore and teru&akane are like going around town after the karaoke date but before they actually go back to retrieve her.
And during this time may i say teru was almost making moves on him?? Like not blatant but i’d say some of the most compelling evidence that ‘teru likes akane’ is shown all relating to aoi, but ALWAYS when she’s conveniently not there to witness.
Whether aoi’s stuck in the far shore or being married off to someone, whenever aoi’s not present and/or in some kind of difficult situation terukane really pulls through. 😭 who knows maybe it’ll be another ‘coming back closer than before’ kind of falling out they’ve had like 5 times already after this arc. HOW MUCH CLOSER CAN YOU GET LIKE KISS ALREADY
maybe this might push akane to do things he’s never done, maybe we see a side of akane we’ve never had the chance of seeing before, who knows.

terukane analysis, and/or just random stuff, i have too many prompts in drafts but they’re too small to be their own analysies so they’re here pt. 2 💫
I already made one of these a bit ago, so if theres anything not here it’s either in that other one, or i just haven’t covered it (yet)
Item A: “I like Akane-san”
When teru says this, it comes out differently in every language. And seemingly equally ambiguous which i find interesting
for example, in the french translation of this line, teru says "I love you more than you might think akane" rather than saying “i like akane-san” and i mean having a mistranslation here is obviously something, but what he actually says is just what?
“i love you more than you might think akane” EXCUSE ME??
also not to mention “san” is gender neutral. He very well could be calling akane by his first name and them (akane & nene) misunderstanding what he said. Although he does refer to aoi as “akane-san”, the translators wouldve translated it to “aoi” instead of “akane” if he was referring to her (or not, im not completely sure on how they do the translation 😭)
Item B: queer association
(Edit: Im fucking dumb and forgot to add the panel of that one dude yelling “no i want to be his boyfriend!” But i can’t find it for the life of me so pretend its here)
not only is this one of the only canon queer characters in tbhk, (my guy only got one panel 💔) but also this associates “queerness” or wtv that means with teru
along with akane mentioning both genders being attracted to teru. Again, associating queerness with him. And you may be wondering, why is this important?
well, notice how out of all of the main and/or reoccurring characters, he is one of the ONLY characters to be associated with queerness. (The only others being kou; his friends teasing him about wanting to “undress mitsuba” and akane; the whole yamabuki thing) for example, take note of how scarily popular aoi is because of her beauty, shes like a literal god, everyone loves this girl, but notice how never once has a girl ever confessed to her? actively not associating her with queerness, unlike teru.
and notice how the other characters that are associated with queerness are kou, who (its pretty much been canonized atp) has romantic feelings for his male friend mitsuba, and AKANE. The guy i swear he has a crush on like cmon now AidaIro can you be more obvious
Item C: reoccurring patterns
in tbhk, all of the confirmed/obviously implied romantic relationships between the main characters have been supernatural x human, hanako and nene, mitsuba and kou, akane and aoi, excluding only teru and aoi. But this does not exclude teru and akane, almost showing us that in the love triangle between teru, akane and aoi, it may not be revolving around which one gets with aoi, but which one gets with akane. It seems as though teru x aoi was never an option from the start.
Although teru has said he likes aoi, his actions say otherwise. for example teruaoi’s conversation in the convenience store was obviously extremely awkward, the only non-awkward part being when he helped her out of that creepy interaction with the clerk.
And the face he made when akane asked/assumed he had a crush on aoi
(Which he never definitively answered)
The point of this section was because of these reoccurring patterns we can conclude akane is the main love interest, not aoi.
Item D: their relationship
Something teru likes about akane, is how no matter what he doesn’t seem to ever give up. Which yes in some aspects this can be a bad thing, coff coff
But most times, you can kind of tell this is a big reason he likes akane, almost like a “he pushes him down, he gets back up” kind of thing, its a big part of their dynamic. If akane wasn’t like this, their dynamic would change a lot. He likes this because as stated in the spinoff, he kind of uses akane as a “stress toy” (which has obviously changed, as their relationship did when the series progresses) but he likes this because at the end of the day, akane will come back. No matter how many times he ties akane up, he returns to the student council room. No matter how many times teru pushes akane down (in this example, literally) he gets back up.
Something i like about terukane, is their relationship. The trust and motivation they give one another. For example, its shown early on Teru has disassociates himself from other people. Teru views the living as “delicate” and kind of makes it his job to protect them from supernaturals (when i say he made it his job i mean his dad did). He was raised to have a very different view towards the living vs supernaturals. Rounding this back to Terukane, teru doesn't view akane as “fragile” like other people, and I think that's something to take note of. The reason he thinks like this could definitely tie into the fact that he’s half supernatural but also he views akane in a higher regard then most people. Akane keeps up with him, teru actually acknowledges this, saying he values his intelligence and enjoys talking to him.
Its kind of been shown teru has had a hard time making friends ever since grade-school, i mean yeah he talks to people, but the only people he’s lowered his guard around has been tiara and kou (siblings), and akane. A literal supernatural (the kind of person this guy is supposed to exterminate??) Literally what makes akane so special? This guy is the most popular person in THE school, second to none, and the only person besides his family that he can let his guard around is akane? They both work in the student council, president and vice president meaning they work in extremely close quarters, everyday, giving them lots of time to talk, so its no doubt they became close, but out of everyone, teru choosing akane to put his trust in is just odd to me idk man
Item E: bringing up each other alot
in many instances, teru and akane bring eachother up when they aren’t even involved in the current situation, or unintentionally show us they think about eachother more than we think they do, a few examples:
Teru talking ab akane to his family. Call me insane but i have alot to say ab this one. This one really gets me because that would mean throughout his entire way home from school, including if he fought off supernaturals on his way back (which he seems to do pretty much everyday), from the last time he saw akane, he had to have been thinking about him the entire time. Since they are in the student council they stay together for most of the day when its not their extra/curricular classes or lunch, meaning they probably stayed together until about an hour after school ended, and according to google
School ends around 3:50 to 4pm and their after school activities last until around 6pm. In one chapter i forget which one, kou complains about his brother not being home much and whenever he is home he’s usually sleeping or too sleepy to answer him properly, (and in art of their ‘home life’ teru is always either sleeping or sleepy) because of his constant fighting with supernaturals well into the evening. Now lets assume at this point teru has left the school building, and about a few (5) minutes down the sidewalk and he runs into supernaturals, fights them off yadayadayada, at this point it’s presumably now 6:30-6:40, now lets also assume they live about a few (5) blocks away from the school, one block presumably taking 5 minutes each, times the 5 blocks they live away, taking approximately 25 minutes to half an hour to walk, plus the additional time he took to exorcise the supernaturals on his way home, which by this point we can probably assume its 7-7:20 now which is around an hour after families/people usually make dinner, we can assume he gets home at the 7-7:20 mark, sits down with tiara and kou to have dinner when this panel was shown
Meaning for an esitmated two and half, to three consecutive hours, akane was on teru’s mind. Thats a pretty long time to be thinking ab someone teru. I know what you are
(it says “Aoi is coming too.”) him blushing while talking ab his bf
akane having a literal DREAM about him. I havent had dreams with life long friends in them so to have a dream about this boy you “hate” is.. hmmm
Innermost subconscious feelings you say? okay okay so not queer at all yk so buddy so bro of them
Item F: the original plot
tbhk was originally going to be a oneshot manga featuring the love triangle between akane, lemon and aoi but later was cancelled, and in the official manga, they made lemon and akane “fall in love”
obviously as a joke but that shows AidaIro is not oblivious to the idea/premise of the two boys instead falling in love with eachother, rather than the girl, so the idea (i talked more ab in a past analysis) of teru&akane getting together rather than teru&aoi or akane&aoi getting together is ON THE TABLE

Terukane analysis 🤍 although this one might be a bit of a stretch
Blue and red are opposites, not in the color theory sense but blue and red are heavily put against the other in media.
for example it actually is a common troupe stemming from japan (where AidaIro are from) called “the red and blue oni”
Characters who are red coded often share the same personality type of being passionate, driven, almost anger-fueled in a way (anger issues)
Characters who are blue coded often share the same personality type of being graceful, mysterious, and seem to be the ice to their red counterparts fire.
Two examples to give you an idea:
Ruby & Sapphire, a canon wlw couple (literally got married) in multiple instances, ruby taking her anger out in violence (aka fire) and sapphire sitting in silence as (literal) ice shards gather at her feet
Hua Cheng and Xie Lian, a canon mlm couple, both adorning the troupe colors, and respective personalities, with Xie Lian (blue) being rather calm, and keeping his composure in dire situations, and Hua Chang (red) having the classic red person “personality” (as stated above)
rounding this back to teru&akane, they fit into this troupe almost perfectly. Akane being the red person, teru being the blue person
Akane often being described as passionate, driven, straight forward, and easily riled up. He is also associated with the color red (or at least something close to it)
Teru often being described as graceful, elegant, kind, and seems to know how to calm akane down. He is also associated with the color blue !
This might be a bit of a stretch but im pretty sure its enough to think about.
in some panels they really remind you of this troupe
Teru not only knowing how, but succeeding at calming akane down. In other words, almost being the ice to his fire.
Terukane will be real next chapter trust 🙏

Okay sometimes when im writing stuff i feel like im just writing it for my ship cus like yah i like them but when i stop and sit back and actually read what im writing i don’t make it up 😭 i genuinely sometimes feel like im just writing to make myself feel better, but im not?? People actually agree with me?? wait yes i do. The reason i think im making it up is because its crazy thats why. Everything ive claimed has been backed up, evidence has been given, although none of them have been proven, they also can’t be completely dismissed and that alone i feel says something.

Not exactly an analysis but possible parallels/basic comparisons <3
Comparing none other than terukane (teru x akane) and dangerously yours masquerade, a 1944 podcast/radio show, in summary is about a french spy named Catherine that is sent to make an American man Rudolf Stephan fall in love with her so she can kill him and gain information, but in the end she falls in love with him too, but he makes her think he never loved her so she can complete her assigned mission (or something like that?)
i saw stuff ab terukane and dangerously yours on tiktok and thought it was so interesting so i wanted to make a thing ab it 😭 FYI this is gonna be alotta words and like zero pictures so turn ur brightness down and don’t kill ur eyes
just the basis of these two are incredibly similar, two people from opposing sides forming an unlikely bond, originally unwanted but now shared?
Comparison/Possible parallel 1:

feels not like a parallel, but so uncomfortably fitting for them. from teru’s place, “dearer than i?” The “i” would pretty obviously be teru
the basis of being in between sides, not knowing which to chose but regardless of which you end up choosing you’re fucked one way or another is a common ground for both catherine and akane, especially with what happened in chapter 112
Comparison/Possible parallel 2:

also feels eerily similar to them aswell. Again akane in cathrine’s place and teru in rudolf’s. This also especially relates to what happened in the “betrayal” part between teru and akane. Again relating to akane not knowing which side he should choose.
in summary, the doomed lovers cathrine and rudolf have so much in common with teru and akane its kind of crazy. how could one possibly look at them and not think of terukane? Akane/Cathrine being inbetween sides (the two sides being their counterpart and their duties) and in the end choosing their duties but still hoping for a seemingly unachievable chance at their counterparts. Ive specifically avoided using words like “coded” or “heavily implied” because i’ve never been completely sure,
Taking it into account, AidaIro are Japanese, and in japan homosexuality isn’t exactly normalized. yes queer people are in japan, they are everywhere and always have been but queer people in japan often conceal their sexuality and from what ive seen simply mentioning homosexuality in the wrong crowd is frowned upon (although don’t take my word for it 100%, i don’t live in japan)
And from what ive seen, AidaIro are pretty “traditional”. Literally name one female character without a male love interest that isnt shijima mei or tiara.
although the whole “lemon and akane” thing happened, it really was just for fun and jokes, although it seems to be a running joke in their friend group that “akane likes lemon” so make of that what you will
queer people being in tbhk is very much possible, we’ve seen panels of boys wanting to be teru’s boyfriend, nene blushing at sakura and claiming she was duped by her gorgeousness, mitsuba constantly accusing kou of wanting to do “pervy” stuff with him, akane mentioning his confusion on how teru can attract both genders (when their current topic had nothing to do with that? Are you the male attracted to him akane?) and natsuhiko’s entire character, but the likeliness of there being multiple queer characters is much lower than just one, of course im not opposed to there being multiple, the more the merrier, but we need to remember homosexuality is not normalized, and in some asian countries homosexuality blatantly doesn’t exist. like you could propose to someone of the same sex and people would say “omg such bffs!!” and we don’t know much about AidaIro besides they’re both girls, both Japanese, one’s a writer and one’s an illustrator.
although this alone does not down-right dismiss the queer implications, it still makes you think. We can never be too sure

Small analysis focused on something other than terukane (still mentioned tho) 🤍
i dont like aoi’s stance in the “sunflower trio” (akane, teru and aoi)
okay i know how this sounds but hear me out, i like the characters, i just hate aoi’s stance/position in the trio. We’ve all seen the stereotypical highschool love triangle “handsome jock and weird nerd fall in love with this really pretty girl and everyone thinks the handsome jock and pretty girl are gonna get together because they’re popular but she ends up with the weird nerd” the handsome jock being teru, weird nerd being akane and pretty girl being aoi.
this is very very stereotypical. I think? Im not sure about what word to use here but i think you understand what i mean. The girl and her two love interests and the only importance for the girl in this love triangle is that she’s going to end up with one of them.
the rest goes to them fighting over her. Which funnily enough actually happens
Which aoi deserves more than that. Shes not “just a girl” and her only purpose in this love triangle should not just be the girl one of them’s gonna end up with. She’s her own character and yes, she has much more than that but im talking about in the trio, her actual character has alot of depth.
Not to use ‘powerful language’ here, but it feels borderline misogynistic. Whenever i think ab this trio i get so weirdly mad and i think thats why 😭
something i think would be refreshing to see, would be she chooses none of them, has her arospec girlboss moment, and the jock and nerd get together <3 (this is not biased please)
But regardless of the fact that i ship terukane, just their places in the dynamic are cute together regardless of their characters.
i love sunflower trio but aoi deserves better than being watered down to simply the love interest</3

ever since chapter 108 tbhk has been getting progressively worse, after reading chapter 112 i had to take an hour long lap around my room before i could write this 😭

Mei’s alive, which kind of confused me because she died due to illness?? But i guess not if shes here
This page really intrigued me, not because of kou or anything but because of what aoi says
She refers to teru as “teru-kun” differing to that of what she used to call him
Which i guess means she’s close to him too
after kou runs back to the stand it shows this
Kou and mitsuba??? HE’S ALIVE?? This is literally all we get of them so i don’t have much for this part
Nene singing at the play, having a thought just at the back of her mind, thinking she was wanting someone to watch her, but not sure who
Until they’re finally done, everything’s quiet, she looks up at the crowd to see
Hanako?? Im not quite sure if he was actually there or if she was hallucinating or something but she remembered him, enough to remember his name. ALSO HE KEPT HIS PROMISE AUGH 😭💔

Teru is distressed, he’s fucking devastated, he feels betrayed and hurt by the only person he’s trusted as much as he has, teru reacts impulsively when it comes to something that weakens him. akane was right when he referred to him as a little kid, he is like a child, he does not know how to control his emotions since he wasn’t taught, and sure as hell not having a mom made it worse
also his face 😭 my mans is HURT
Him not knowing if he should treat akane like a human or like a supernatural hurts me. this reminds me of the picture perfect arc with hanako and nene, akane being in hanako’s place and teru being in nene’s.
akane making the decision for the greater good that he doesn’t even fully believe in, just as hanako did when he made shijima make the painting

The tension goes CRAZYY but also wtf
The demotion from “aoi” to “clock keeper” back to “aoi” shows he really doesnt know. Also showing he really did trust him, but now that he’s done what he did, he doesnt know how to feel about him. The “you really let me down” again suggests he didn’t at one point, and he did like him. GOSH AidaIro sleep with one eye open tonight
Akane looking worried like that shows he really did care about teru too, and what he thinks of him, i mean like look at him he looks disappointed too, but in himself

again, reminding me of the picture perfect arc, with the whole “be here long enough and you’ll forget your past life” with again, akane in hanako’s place and teru in nene’s
Akane says this could be a better present for Nene, and we see her initial hope of being popular come true (also taking aoi’s problem away, as stated at the beginning)
but he also says this could be a better/more preferable present for teru aswell, which makes me want to see how teru’s life changed, and what akane considered something teru would want, and what he lost to gain it. (like how nene gained popularity but lost hanako and the connections she made bcs of meeting him)
Fuck i just realized something. Akane was under the impression teru has a crush on aoi so what if he made them closer as in like dating closer SHE CALLS HIM TERU-KUN is this what akane meant by “some people might prefer this ‘present’ over the former one. could be you president.” HUUH
i have a problem with saying “this will never happen, i know it wont, and i wont even consider it” and genuinely will be under the belief that it wont, but then it fucking happens and if thats what happened here i might as well archive my acc
Back to the current topic, as a wielder of time, an important part of making this present, is making sure there is no way his memories will be replaced too, or so im guessing. He says "some" and “their” instead of "we" or “people like us” when talking about the people that will forget the old present. Meaning if akane des remember, he will be so indefinitely alone and self aware (him knowing so much more than the rest of them) and have to play along with everything. Everyone else has the comfort of forgetting, which will make it much easier to adjust, meanwhile if things stay the same, akane will be the only one to remember and will be like this for as long as they stay like that.
Which i like this new one, as mitsuba and kou can be friends without one of them literally being dead, and how aoi can be more open and is closer to nene, but if this is how it ends (obviously not this chapter but if it ends with them staying in the new present) tbhk is so fucked.
its kind of a win-lose, lose-win type of thing, but either way akane’s cooked.

You could make an analysis abt how Teru acts subtly jealous of Aoi.
He said he hates how Akane acts around Aoi, he interrupted their kiss, he looked sad when they were talking at the fireworks party, and there’s other examples that I don’t remember aswell of him seeming salty about things that could signal jealousy.

Item A: teru disliking the way akane is around aoi
i’m seeing a reoccurring pattern of teru showing a disliking for akanes crush on aoi.
Now this is really interesting, because why tf would he dislike how he likes her?? Outside of a shippers perspective its pretty confusing right? Maybe because we have to look at it through a shippers perspective.
what other logical explanation is there for why he dislikes it other than “wishing downfall on their relationship because he hates fun and love” than him quite possibly liking one of them? And by one of them, i mean akane.
he not only knows akane more, but seems to be quite comfortable with him. Akane being teru’s only actual friend, if he can even call him that. We’ve seen panels of teru pictured with other kids in frame, yet alone himself
Showing he’s never really had friends. Yes he’s had people he talks to, but no actual friend friends. But then, akane came along.
he’s the only thing aside from school/exorcism he has going on, leading to him constantly being on his mind, so much so to the point of him literally talking ab him to his siblings when it seems clear no one asked and he’s talking from his mind
Back to teru’s crush, teru doesnt even know aoi. I mean he knows her, but doesnt know know her. On the other hand, he knows and likes akane alot so teru liking akane would make more sense than him liking aoi.
Item B: teru disliking when aoi + akane are together w/o him
he was eavesdropping in on their ‘moment’ here, but as soon as akane was ab to kiss aoi thats kinda where teru drew the line and interrupted.
Playing it off as him simply running into them.
later after saving aoi, when akane and her were back together again, teru was moping ab it being seemingly jealous.
he was SO jealous that just seeing them hold hands like that gave him the motivation to get up and walk down there (motivation he hasn’t had for at least a few days)
Him also asking aoi if she wanted to hangout at the festival with him (presumably because he didnt want her and akane to hangout together, but she ended up rejecting the both of them)
we dont have many one on one teru and aoi interactions so i didnt have much to go off of. Pls excuse me if any of this is poorly written, or if i Interpreted anything wrong 😭

Terukane analysis <33
one of my favorties because it really shows how much they care and more about THEM less about how teru looks at akane or things like that
like i said in my last last LAST post, i wanted to write an analysis on what happened between terukane just before the severance so here i am. Writing this at 8:15pm on a sunday.
after getting back to the ”human realm”, akane realizes aoi isnt there with him, turns around in confusion, and sees teru with a saddened look on his face
Teru looks saddened while explaining what happened to aoi and how she couldnt return
Akane asks if teru knew the whole time, teru confesses to having had known that she wouldnt come back but didnt say anything, leading to akane being very clearly distressed and upset
Akane grabs teru by the shirt/jacket or wtv hes wearing and punches him and shoves him against a wall
Akane’s done with attacking teru, and turns around to try to go back and get her, falls to the ground in pain, his untreated wounds getting worse by the minute, gets back up to get her, teru forces him down, akane’s lying on the ground, disappointed and sad
Yadayadayada idrc what happens after this thats not what we’re focusing on, now that im done with the ridiculously long recap lets break it down further
As seen here, teru is both feeling and looking, extremely guilty. He’s guilty ab not telling akane, but knowing he kind of had to keep it a secret
Something you need to know ab terukane to really understand it, is their relationship is heavily built around their trust in one another so when teru hid how aoi couldnt come back from akane, he was hurt and confused as if he had never seen it coming, like it wasnt even a what if. He knows teru tries to be “perfect” to everyone else, but had never even CONSIDERED that he might lie to HIM.
The reason this hit like a fucking global pandemic is because akane trusted teru so much he didn’t even think ab the “what ifs” and even if he did, him lying wouldnt even be on there
and since he was really hurt, he lashed out and punched him. Teru knew he was hurt/betrayed and let him punch him, feeling guilty at himself for keeping this from him. Gosh they really do care about one another
As seen here, akane tries to get aoi, but in his damaged state, he literally cannot. Teru knows this, and hurts inside seeing him like this, him having to literally shove him to the ground to stop him.
Akane seems to be at like rock bottom rn. Just lost his childhood bsf and this dude he swears he hates just lied to him ab something this srs. my mans really going through it
Forgot to add but teru looks especially heartbroken here looking at akane, it literally hurts him to do this to akane, but he knew he wouldnt leave aoi there so he did what was best for him, and brought him back. Also not to mention he literally travelled through the most notorious school mystery’s boundary (also the god of fucking death like wdym) just to save akane like what the fuck
teru’s so obvious istg if AidaIro doesnt make terukane canon thats one thing, but if they dont confirm or at least prove in some way teru has a crush on akane, my entire life is a fucking lie
pls give me ideas or stuff ab terukane that you’ve noticed and i havent im running out of analysis ideas 😭😭🙏

Another mini terukane analysis :P
so we’ve all seen the picture of teru’s hand on akane’s head right? Seen it, loved it, yadayada
but if you actually look into it, this is so cute.
i mean for one, thats his sword hand. From previous panels we’ve seen him use his right hand on his sword. While he is pictured with it in his left, when he actually fights, its in his right (old vs recent)
“what about that being his sword hand” well, if you couldnt tell, theres a literal demon right infront of them, so he must be on high guard right? nope its in his left LMAO
His better/dominant/more skilled hand is in the most gentlest way, comforting akane, rather than fighting the little shit off. Almost saying, he’s more important right now, akane’s comfort is more important than his own safety, reserving his better hand for him, rather than the stupid demon thing
then after he hits it, it shatters to glass, fading away. His face changes to that of a worried expression, and quickly turns around, takes akane by the little of his shirt he has left, and starts dragging him
Clearly doesn’t give him any time to react, seemingly extremely worried ab something. but as the chapter progresses, we see supernaturals fading away such as hanako, and mitsuba. The bells signaling the start of the severance
We can obviously put two and two together and realize teru thought akane was gonna fade away 😭 MANS WAS SO WORRIED
He was happy to leave aoi, defenseless, alone, in a realm he cannot reach, surrounded by countless evil entities, with very little time to save her, while she was clearly extremely unstable, with his only way of knowing if she dissipated or not being a little bell bracelet that he doesn’t even wear
yet he immediately turned around, full on dragged him/gave him ZERO time to get up, rushed him to the clock keepers asap without even time for akane to react or anything. Like gosh dude can you be more obvious.
him being that worried about akane is so interesting to me, because like, why? Shouldnt he hate him for liking his so called “crush” (aoi). Since he’s planning on going back and saving aoi why cant he just get akane when he’s going back for aoi? Why go through the effort? Lets think of a few reasons why
Reason 1. Calling back to when he stopped them from kissing, he mightve realized if he’s alone with her there, they’d sit on the train and bam they’re dead, gone forever.
Reason 2. Maybe he at one point, had the idea of overall just leaving her there. Giving her the bell bracelet as a false sense of hope so he doesn’t seem like a bad person. And if akane’s sent there, he has to get him, and of course they’ll be together there so he’ll have to get aoi aswell. Why he might want to leave aoi? No clue but its an idea that came to mind so i put it down
Reason 3. Maybe he cant do it alone. He’s always been the “i fight alone” type, but when akane’s there he’s never fighting alone. So maybe he doubts his ability to save her by himself, and wants akane by his side throughout the whole thing
Reason 4. Maybe he just cares about him and/or maybe might like him a little more than he should
i wanna write one ab what happened with teru + akane JUST before the severance SO BAD THERES LITERALLY SM I HAVE TO SAY but i lost all motivation and there being too much is both good and bad 😭 (bad as in im too lazy to do it)
