Organza saree
In the recent few years we have seen a surge in the demand of dupattas ā€“ be it Banarasi, Bandhani, Patola, Kantha, Chikankari, Organza, or a heavy handwork dupatta.
Earlier girls used to buy a full outfit which included a lehanga ā€“ choli and Dupatta or Salwar ā€“ Suit and Chunari. Never would anyone had thought to shell out so much money for a dupatta. But in the recent past, women have gone creative and they want to design their outfit by mix and match. This brings out a unique combination and truly the outfit stands out.
One of the favourite combinations these days are a plain silk lehanga or suit with a heavy banarasi dupatta. Or a lakhnavi chikankari lehanga or suit with a bandhani dupatta. A good anarkali goes so well with any dupatta be it bandhej, chikankari, banarasi, Patola, Kantha to name a few.
Even girls are carrying heavy dupattas on sarees. Recently I got request from a dear customer of mine to make her sets of sarees and matching dupattas. Was a tedious task but truly so rewarding seeing her sense of style. So what is your take on these changing fashion trends. Do check out our gorgeous collection of Dupattas. Sharing a few of my favourites below.
