The SILCCO made an appearance at the location Baptist Church's car show. There were lots of cars and a very wholesome event.

After nearly two years of sitting around because of carb and power steering issues, the SILCCO is out and about again. It appeared at my church's Trunk or Treat in West Columbia, SC on 10/28/23. It was a big hit. Most people have never seen anything like it. People took selfies inside.
The other event it has been to was a Trunk or Treat in Walterboro SC on 10/31/23. The department of social services used it as a prop in their display. They decorated it with a giant spider on top. Again, it was a hit with the crowd. Many people asked about it. The local TV station that was there covering the event did a little spot on it too.
I know people make fun of this car for the way it looks, probably justly so. However, this car gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes. People find it so odd yet they can't take their eyes off of it.

So the SILCCO has been laid up due to carburetor and PS issues. In the meantime I retired from teaching and moved back to my home state. At the earliest opportunity I had the SILCCO shipped to my new home.

The pandemic and a leaking power steering hose had the SILCCO sitting in the storage yard for months. I got the old girl out yesterday and took her to my church for Trunk or Treat. It was a hit.

So as we cross Red Mountain north of Silverton one of the tires went flat. Embarrassed, but caught w only a space saving spare and an inflator that had not been used in 41 years. With no cell signal we had to wait for a tow truck to happen by. Luckily one did about 45 min later. We finally arrived in GJ about 10 hrs after leaving Durango. It was a long day.

The SILCCO is heading to a Lincoln and Continental Owners Club meet in Grand junction Co. We spent a night in Durango, Co then through a tourist trap called Silverton Co.
