Iowa Wild is playing Texas Stars
And my job won’t let me wear this.
(Which I totally understand)
It’s an old Iowa jersey when we were affiliated with the Dallas Stars. I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet. Mainly b/c I work pretty much every game and we can’t wear other team items. One day I will get to wear this.

Actual Baby Goalie Alert
My team has something called “Blue Line Buddies” where young hockey players get to stand on the ice with the big guys during intros. Tonight we have a baby goalie and it was amazing. I’m sharing for @halliewriteshockey

IOWA WILD HOCKEY IS BACK
It’s our preseason warmup. This is a night, kinda like a dress rehearsal. Next week is our home opener, so tonight is the night to get out the kinks.
We have a new head coach and new graphics.
There are changes, but I am excited for this season!

Hockey Boys Doing Good
My 13yrs participates in an adaptive Baseball league. Every week they have “Angels in the Outfield”, which is usually a high school sports team volunteering to accompany the players during the game. Today’s angels are the Capitals, a local competitive High School team. Lots of flow! Lol.
I really love seeing young athletes supporting other young athletes.

Working. Watching a Thai BL romantic drama. Crocheting a hat probably no one wants. Rewatching Red, White, and Royal Blue for the 10th… maybe 20th time. Reading books that would make most people embarrassed (while waiting for my favorite author to release her next book. ;-p)
Oh, and waiting for hockey season to start so I can make more money. Lol

I need help. I haven’t asked in awhile for a lot of reasons, and things are finally on the upswing with the new job, but I’m paying rent on two places now, as well as moving costs, I won’t see commissions on my sales until the season starts and I have $13 in the bank. I owe a friend $500 I can’t give him. I emptied my account to pay the rent and utilities, and I’m just. I’m bled dry
I’ve been saying things will get better for awhile now, and I finally believe that they truly will, but the question has now become, can I hold on until they do
Simon’s book is 2/3 done, and given a fair wind and a following sea, I could have it completed in a month. But instead I’m drowning. Every atom of energy is focused on keeping us alive, and that tends to burn out creativity really fucking fast
I have a couple copies of Power Play and Blindside Hit, and a credit with Stamps.com. If anyone would be able to help, I would be honored to mail you an autographed copy of either book
The only reason I’ve survived this long has been through the kindness of those around me. I do not take it lightly, and I am shamed to my core at having to ask for your generosity again. But we’re so close to being on dry land again. If you can help, I would be grateful beyond words

This is so amazing. Congrats!
Des Moines Buccaneers are in the USHL, which is kinda like the BCHL (I believe). We have had a few drafted, but not many. Usually the players are there to move up the ranks.
Can you explain with this news means? For those of us who may not be in the know.
Basically, the team I work for was in the BCHL, which is a league for players focused on getting scholarships for college. Some do make it to the NHL but it’s more about getting into college for most of them.
But we are now officially in the WHL, which is major junior hockey and drafts the most NHL prospects out of any league in the world. It’s a huge step forward for us, we’ll be playing the teams I’ve been following for years and it’s incredibly exciting!

I second Robo. He played the Baby Wild a few times and you just knew he was going up.
Along with that, Matt Boldy for the Wild. We had him in Iowa for, maybe, 2 games before he got called up. He was a force to be reckoned with.
i saw levi play earlier this ncaa season and he did the kneeling thing during all breaks. he scared me a little with how good he was, totally shut out my school. first player i saw where i was like “oh he’s going pro no question he’s almost wasted here”
glad he’s doing well for the sabres !
It’s so fun seeing a player you KNOW is destined for good things. I saw Jason Robertson play when he was in the AHL, and I distinctly remember thinking, “oh, he’s going places” and he was called up a few weeks later. I felt like a proud mom 😊
Also I’m delighted that Levi does the kneeling thing always, I love goalies being weird SO MUCH
