i love this scene because on the surface it looks like they're flirting. maybe about to have a kiss. a little make out. but no, they're actually in the midst of a divorce and they have like 30 kids out front who don't even know they're married but are caught in the middle of this strange bitter sexual tension and this scene is one guy being like "hey i know you're going through something right now but i kind of still care about you a little bit and i can see you're self destructing so please let me help you" and then the other guy. emotionally rips him to shreds

Written for the Beach Blanket Black Sails Ficfest, the prompt was 'Betsy has kittens and Silver wants to keep them on Maroon Island.' It's really about Silver and trauma and there are sad parts but nothing bad happens to any cats and there is a happy ending.

I only recently watched this series and became aware of Ray Stevenson. And since then have seen him everywhere, even though I'd seen him before. In Thor, in RRR, in Starwars, and now recently in Black Sails. He plays the thoughtful brute so so well. I'm happy he got so many great roles before he passed.

Inara was relieved that it was a woman who greeted her at the entrance of the spaceship. She was obviously a fighter, with curious eyes but a taciturn demeanor. With a nod she beckoned Inara to follow her through the Walrus's metallic innards. The crew, an eclectic combination of class and skill at a first glance, paused in their actions to observe her. Their attire, scavenged armor and interesting modifications, told her all she needed to know that the tales of survival and defiance were true. She was brought into the heart of the ship, where there were several men at different screens. Inara noticed him at once - the man sitting in the middle of the room slightly slouched in his chair, tugging his beard, dressed in black. His face matched the stories she had heard - rugged, etched by trials, determined. Beside him stood a figure, more slight of frame and dark hair, who exuded a quieter kind of authority as he was showing him a diagram. "Captain, we have a guest," her escort yelled out next to her. He turned, slowly, to gaze down at her, and his eyes flickered with something. Recognition? Inquisitiveness? The man next to him turned his attention to her as well, setting down the diagram onto the table. His face was kinder, she quickly calculated. Inara made a small whisper of prayer to Guanyin before curtsying. "Captain Flint," she smiled her best smile, "It is a pleasure to be in your presence. Your tales and conquests are known far and wide throughout the Universe." Flint smirked. "I thank you for your compliments, my lady, however it is I who should be grateful to be in the presence of a Companion. To what do we owe this pleasure of a Companion, alone, visiting us?" Inara felt a tingle up her back and was acutely aware of the other eyes that fell on her. She saw the man beside Flint move closer to him, and noticed as he did so the light caught the shine of a prosthetic leg. "I am Inara Serra, and I come to you for your help." She tried to keep her voice from shaking. She was calm, she told herself, she must remain composed. "My crew, who have continued their fight against the Union of Allied Planets since the battle of Serenity, have been caught and are being held by a Governor Rogers on the planet of Persephone. I ask for your aid," she continued, "Not only because I believe our cause aligns with yours, but also because I can pay you handsomely for their return." Flint's face twitched at the name of Rogers. He regarded her slowly, and then stood. "Ms. Serra, this is unfortunate news indeed. But Governor Rogers, much to my own chagrin, is in an area and a place that is currently insurmountable, and I cannot not risk my crew currently." The man beside him took his arm, and the Captain looked slightly reluctant but leaned in so the other could murmur in his ear. "Fine," he muttered, "Ms. Serra, my husband Silver would like to hear more," he said, eyeing her and then eyeing back the other man with some frustration. "Come, let us discuss this over drinks."

to celebrate the 10th birthday of the show that rewired my brain and almost 7 years of me having to live with schrödinger's Flint, i decided to redraw a piece from 2017. this is a self-indulgent au where Madi convinces Silver not to shoot Flint/send Flint to Savannah and in stead they all run their little inn together okay? what's that? you're asking if Flint would be able to adjust to such a life? (would any of them?) of course he would, don't be silly, he could kick troublesome drunks out into the street, glare ominously at customers from behind the bar, pick fights, and threaten people who owe money :))) many happy returns to this fucking masterpiece

i am watching this panel on youtube and am DYING at toby schmitz joining in virtually 🤣🤣🤣

i’ve honestly been listening to this every day. it makes me feel sad but in a good way. i imagine all of the crew alive and reuniting.

listening to the black sails ost + ocean ambience mix is giving me such severe psychological damage like every time i hear the unreleased tracks i immediately get transported to the scenes they were used in. this isn’t healthy

ok i just watched 4.9 of black sails- what a fantastic episode.

those flashback scenes felt so fanfic in the best way, just how they bantered and referred back to previous conversations (i felt better having flint calling out silver’s response to thomas, like it WAS a weird response thank you). i just loved how it was an episode dedicated to the main dynamic and conflict of the show (they didn’t hug or kiss alas but it will have to do).

i feel slightly better with the show ending having seen that episode, it felt like a very fitting tribute to them and finally focusing on what the show has been dancing around (do i wish we had two more episodes just dedicated to them? yes).

i also want to shout out the scene where rodgers was trying to get madi to agree to his terms. i thought that was so so cool how the clicking of the crochet got louder and louder, with the reveal at the end he was seeing eleanor’s ghost. i got chills!

saving the final episode for tomorrow…

what i loved about this scene is that flint is so closed off (arms crossed, not really facing silver) and yet is extending out to him, showing that conflict within him of strength vs vulnerability. great acting.
