dare i say most of the bsd villains could have been saved by just forming a genuine fucking friendship. like yes its a common theme in bsd that connection saves a person but REALLY

like maybe dazai was right and if shibusawa did have real friends to quell his boredom he’d be alive. if instead of having this parasocial fascination with the perfect ability (atsushi), he made a FRIEND, then maybe atsushi wouldn’t have killed him. and maybe if shibusawa had gotten off his ego and just accepted friendship hed be ok

fyodor too! because ive said this before, if fyodor had allowed himself to form genuine trust and connections (especially with nikolai) then maybe he would have LIVED because that helicopter would have been portaled to safety by his friend. but no fyodor you think youre the best so youre DEAD now

i also think that the opposite proves the friendship theme. friendship saved dazai. it saved kyouka. it saved atsushi. it saved yosano. it saved sigma too trust me guys

well i hadnt for a while but now i am. i still think ivan had severely untapped potential both in character development and power and i also think hes a victim of bsd’s insane power scaling that prioritizes a character being the best in one area and if they arent theyre kinda discarded after a couple scenes
