I’m nowhere near as active on this blog as I’d hoped i’d be so here’s a fun little re-work of an OC i had based on Destiny. HYDE/Polemos.

Originally, HYDE was the name of an Warmind A.I That lived in Shayde’s head that came out during Joker’s attempted take-over in order to protect him. He then gained his own body and went his own way, and would’ve later helped out Shayde during the events of Forsaken, Beyond Light, and later the rest of Apocalypse.

I’ve since reworked his story a little bit in order to have it mesh a little better with RH and Destiny as a whole: 

In the beginning, HYDE was created by the man who transferred the boy who would become Shayde into an Exo body to save him from a deathly illness - Levin Kevechko. He was once a member of Clovis Bray, and sought to assist on the Warmind project, and was the one of the few people outside of Ana Bray who knew about the SIDDARTHA GOLEM Protocol Rasputin had. Using this knowledge, he created a Golem called HYDE that would be installed into Shayde’s body and protect him in the case that he was in grave danger. 

Clovis I wasn’t too fond of someone using his family’s work without authorization and had Levin killed...The Exo that would eventually become Shayde escaped, and lived long enough to have enough lives that HYDE went dormant. Centuries later, Shayde would come to be, and somehow...HYDE remained. His story remains largely unaltered until about the time of Destiny 2′s Red War campaign; He parts ways from Shayde and makes himself scarce, wandering the earth and helping settlements outside of The Last City when he could. He made his home in the Exo-Mind lab where he and Shayde were separated...copying his memories and experiences in case of an emergency. When The Red Legion conquered The City, he found himself overwhelmed by their forces, eventually taking fatal wounds saving a child from Cabal aggressors in a village close to the lab. His sacrifice led those people to move to the city and help in it’s reconstruction, as they believed he was a Guardian. Stumbling back to his home, HYDE left one final memory behind for those that might stumble across his body: The child’s face as he rescued her.

Devotion to protection.

Bravery in the face of impossible odds.

Sacrifice for the innocent.

Death for the sake of others living.

A Ghost named Erini stumbled across his body around the time of Osiris’ return, and chose him as her Guardian. Curious as to his surroundings, the new light scoured through the memories left behind by HYDE...and accidentally became aware of his past. Though he chose to follow in the footsteps of his old life, this new guardian considered himself a new person: Polemos. Built for War, but fighting for Peace.
