Piper stared at him with those big brown eyes of hers for a moment, as if startled into shock by the simple question. She was overwhelmed by it honestly. There were so many things she wanted to tell him; years worth of things. Almost a decade worth of things.

She wanted that every time she came back for just a day or two to see her sister, she had stopped at the stop sign in front of the low down and stared at his truck, debating going in.

She wanted to tell him about that one time she had been drunk a few nights after leaving and called him only to hang up right when he picked up. She wanted to tell him she was how she had missed him. Wanted to tell him that she had kicked herself about it but told herself that if she just waited and enough time passed they would both forget. She wanted to tell him that she'd been so wrong about that.

She wanted to tell him how handsome he had grown up. That she wanted to pull on the curls on the back of his neck. How her stomach jumped when he grinned at her that first day they had met up. How he had been the last person she had very shared a real, genuine feeling that wasn't anger to.

But instead she just shook her head stupidly. "No..." The sound of her voice shocked her out of those very concious thoughts. She looked down at the food she was prepping instead. "No I can't think of anything."

Her eyes closed as his warm lips pressed against her clammy forehead, a sure sign that before he had come in the morning sickness had been taking alot out of her. More then she had been willing to admit. Still a little content smile came to her lips at his suggestion. She knew that it was a compromise. She got the distict feeling that if Devlin had his way she would be tucked safely into bed at 8:30 at night and be woken up with breakfast and some good old fashioned morning sex. One of the million books she was reading said it was good for the baby after all!

"I guess thats what I'll have to do eventually anyway isn't it?" She sighed, knowing he was right. She still had that content look on her face though, fingers trailing along his jaw. "I think you're the one person in the world I could never get sick of." She assured him and it was true. If it wasn't she would have run by now instead of sitting here, touching each other so tenderly.

Her eyed moved down to where he played with the locket he'd given her, his large fingers taking up the whole thing. "I know...and I love you and you shouldn't drive yourself into the ground either." She reminded him, knowing that if she let him he might do just that. She sighed at the question, trying to pin point it. "Right now? My body. I've always been in control of it and right now it's not doing anything that I want. I constantly want trash food which I never usually eat. Sometimes I feel tired but at the same time restless. I want to go running but everything feels sore..." She admitted, shaking her head. "I mean we can't even go to the gym together like we like and what if you get bored or annoyed or even grossed out?"

He leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering for a moment as if to convey his love and support. Devlin noticed by now that just being there was enough for Piper to relax her nervous system, for which he was glad. "I understand that feeling of needing control, especially when everything else feels chaotic. Why don't we find ways to balance things? Like, you don't have to just cut off everything at once, but take it slower, and work on listening to your body's needs. It's not going to be easy alone but that's what I'm here for, constant reassurance. Maybe you'll get sick of how much I'm around you," he laughed, trying to make this conversation feel lighthearted.

Devlin's grip on her hand tightened ever so slightly, his thumb tracing comforting circles on the back of her hand, and then he reached for her locket hanging on her neck. "I worry because I care, Piper. But I trust you, and I believe in you. You're strong, capable, and resilient. But Piper, can you tell me what specifically makes you feel most out of control right now? Is there something specific that weighs on your mind or causes you the most restlessness?"

Piper laughed. "No!" She kissed the other womans cheek and hugged her. "No I like Piper Viper! Its fierce!"

Piper looked over her shoulder as she heard the rustling of bushes by the little lake that night. She hadn't been able tot stop herself. It had been so long since she had done this and been back here- a place that used to be used multiple times a month to swim in, sneaking off in the middle of the night or away from classes in the humid summer sun for a dip and cool down.

She wondered if it was still used by the kids and teenagers. But it didnt seem like it seeing as how it would have been the perfect night for them to.

What a waste.

Seeing the big dark creature with golden eyes, her breath caught. It had been so long since she had seem one, it felt like a dream. "Lou?" She asked, waiting before dipping her head back in the water. If it wasn't, it wasn't like she would be able to run fast enough.

A little smile pulled at Pipers lips, guessing that Sophie wouldn't have done to one anyway. "Well I could drive you 45 minutes but....I dont want blood in my car." She half joked as she cleaned up the area around the wound and without warning started to clean it itself. Warning her would have just made her tense up so it was better just to 'rip the bandaid off' as it were.

She snorted at Sophies reasoning. "Well I know that when I have a good time, violence tends to break out so thats not much of an arguement." She reasoned as she made sure it was clean before reaching for the butterfly bandges. If she could she would use the liquid skin but not until she knew what had attacked her friend. If there was poison she didn't want to seal it in. "You're in the wrong town if you aren't looking for trouble." She reminded her.

"What was it? Just to make sure? Vampire? Ghost? Were-whatever?" She asked, pressing the gauze into it. Piper had no experience fighting monsters but that didn't mean she had no experience with monsters; in this town that wasn't possible. "No matter what you're going to need a few days of sleep. This is super bloody."

"Just saying, I think this town needs a hospital way closer than that," maybe Sophie was spoiled, given that Shreveport had more than one. Not that she would have ever used one. She would have fought Piper if she would have suggested it, even if she had thought about it.

"I didn't even start it this time. I was just minding my business, I just wanted to get drunk and have a good time," she hadn't planned on being on a hunt, which was was they were able to catch her unaware. "I'm real tired of trouble always finding me."

She didn't want to look how bad it was--she was gonna live, but it was gonna leave a nasty scar, to go with the other ones littering her skin, one right near where this one would end up being. Her head shook, "No. Not that I know of. Unless they poisoned the tree limb they threw me into."

Piper roller her eyes though it was still with a little smile on her face at the excitment that both of them had and the way 'Cheeto" was sitting in between them, little tail whipping back and forth. "God now shes going to want actually cheetos with lunch." She snorted.

Her hand squeezed his shoulder before her fingers moved to run through his hair affectionally at the statement about their new growing family. Slowly the word was starting to sound less and less scary, though it still needed to settle in a way she doubted it would until the baby was born and they were settled into a routine. But she noticed how he slipped in those little reassurences and knew it was helping...though that realization had been grudging at first. "How about you go get the leash Cassie and we'll take him on our first walk all together-" She was cut off by the doorbell, eyebrows furrowing. "We'll get get the leash and harness on him." She agreed, taking Cassies hand and patting her leg to see if she could get the puppy to follow.

At the door a blond, regal looking woman was fixing her lips stick in a little compact, surprised that her key didn't work and that the door was locked. When it opened, the first thing she saw was the puppy who had broken free of the girls to guard the house with Devlin. "What the hell is that." It was punctuated with a click on her compact before her eyes traveled up the legs of the absolutely gorgoues man standing in the doorway. Her tone instantly changed to an intruigued, bordering on seductive tone. "And who might you be. Not that I mind when beautiful men are in my house." She moved past him without a care, nudging the puppy out of the way with her four inch heels in distaste.

Devlin chuckled warmly at Cassie's suggestion and looked up at Piper with a playful twinkle in his eyes. "Well, Cheeto does have a certain ring to it, doesn't it?" He reached out a hand to gently pat the puppy's head, earning a wag of the tail in response. "But you know, Cassie, puppies are a lot like Cheetos. They're both full of surprises and can bring a lot of joy into our lives."

He looked between Cassie and Piper, his voice softening. Something seemed to be in Piper's mind, and from how much he knows her so far, he knows he must say something to help soothe her. "And you know what? Just like how we're not supposed to have puppies made of Cheetos, sometimes the best things in life are the ones we never expected. Being a family, taking care of each other, it's a lot like that too. We're figuring it out together day by day, and that's what makes it special."

Just as Piper, Cassie and Devlin shared this moment, a sudden ring of the doorbell interrupted them. Devlin looked at Piper with a raised eyebrow, his curiosity raised. "I wonder who that could be," Devlin pondered aloud. He wasn't expecting anyone. He walked towards the front door, glancing at the peephole and then opened the door.
