Singapore Flyer mascot
I can't find their name unfortunately, and they don't seem to still be in use today. Nevertheless, they are still very adorable!

GAkids' 'edutainment' mascots, Titoy (left in image above) and Morchoo (right in image above) (source)
Titoy
Tumblr media
Quick and curious, Titoy is able to get out of trouble just as swiftly as he gets into it! Though one of few words, his cheeky, easygoing personality endears him to many. The precious dew in Titoy’s leaf possesses powers of healing and refreshing, which helps to enrich many with the gift of life. (source)
Morchoo
Tumblr media
Pretty in pink Morchoo is everyone’s sweetheart. Kind and down to earth, she is amiable to all who crosses her path. Morchoo’s trendy ponytail also serves an important function: in times of trouble, it spins her up into the air and to the rescue! (source)
Fun fact: Titoy and Morchoo have also been featured in the Sir Fong's Adventures in Science comics, by a local illustrator Otto Fong! (I have fond memories of reading when I was younger)

I am sure if you have been watching YouTube recently (Or Cartoon Network), you may have seen a short advertisement featuring Merli the Merlion!
In the first episode "Sky's The Limit", Merli is featured as a balloon in the Marina Barriage! (Source of Image on the right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This new series is part of a wider partnership between Warner Bros Discovery and the Singapore Tourism Board to collaborate on content that will spotlight and inspire travel to Singapore. (Source)
As the mascot of Singapore Tourism Board (STB), it is no wonder Merli would be featured in this cartoon!

Water Wally & Sally Club ruler
Tumblr media
Apologies for not posting for so long! It is currently my exam week(s) now, so I just wanted to share a ruler I brought along as a lucky charm for my exam!
Tumblr media
As you can see, this ruler is a piece of merchandise from the Water Wally and Sally Club.
I got this on 15th September 2023 from my classmate who had gotten it from her younger sibling, we sat together during a lesson once and I noticed she had this ruler. I was surprised to see it had one of my favourite Singapore mascot's print on it, so I immediately asked if I could buy it from her and handed her my 1 dollar coin. She was probably confused at my sudden request but she sold it to me anyway lol
I do not really have much to say about this, and I do not know when this merchandise was released but this ruler is 1.5 milimeters thick. It is of an opaque white plastic (most likely from an acrylic sheet) and the only side that is printed is the one that is pictured in both images. When I got the ruler from my friend it came with a thin protective plastic layer to be peeled off on the back of the ruler.
I will do a separate post on the mascots Water Wally and Water Sally respectively!

Happy 58th Birthday Singapore! 🎉🇸🇬🎊 (9 August 2023)
Some mascots were featured in the Singapore's National Day Parade 2023! This is a post containing a short description of the mascots seen in NDP. (included links to official websites for more information)
Mascots spotted in chronological order: Sharity and Friends, Water Wally and Sally and Singa the Lion.
1. Sharity and Friends
(Image from: https://www.comchest.gov.sg/brand/sharity/Sharity-Club)
Tumblr media
(From left to right: Flappy the Pigeon, Spikey the Hedgehog, Buddy the Dog, Sharity, Felicity the Cat, Cheeky the Monkey)
The group of mascots were spotted during the first performance (or Act?), dancing near the stage!
Sharity (the pink Elephant in the image above) is the Community Chest mascot, and was first introduced in 1984! His name is a combination of the words "share" and "charity".
More information about the mascots: https://www.comchest.gov.sg/brand/sharity/Sharity-Club
2. Water Wally and Water Sally
(Image from: https://makeeverydropcount.pub.gov.sg/waterwally-and-sally/)
Tumblr media
They were spotted during the contingent march (?), featured in the flags the group carried.
Water Wally was created in 2005, and is the mascot of the Public Utilities Board (also known as Singapore's National Water Agency). Water Sally is the younger sister of Wally and was introduced in 2020. This year is also PUB's 60th anniversary!
Link to more information about Water Wally: https://www.pub.gov.sg/about/waterwally
A website which includes an animated video, introducing Water Sally: https://makeeverydropcount.pub.gov.sg/waterwally-and-sally/
(These are one of my favourites, I will make a post more about them in the future! I have some more links to add but then the short description I planned to add to this post is too long)
3. Singa the (Kindness/Courtesy) Lion
(Image from: https://www.sg101.gov.sg/resources/connexionsg/singathelion/)
Tumblr media
The Emcee even mentioned his name! ("Oh, remember Singa the Lion? Everyone say HI SINGA!!!!") He was first spotted on a float, depicting one of the Total Defence Pillars, Psychological Defence.
Singa the Lion was introduced in 1982 as the National Courtesy Campaign’s (NCC) mascot. In 2014, he received the biggest redesign, which I remember seeing him most in during my primary school years!
Link for more information about Singa: https://www.kindness.sg/who-we-are/singa-the-kindness-lion/
I watched the NDP 2023 through the live broadcast on television, the official live stream is also up on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsT2D03KTMM).
Sorry for the late post! (Posted on 10 August, one day late)
