It makes me laugh when s*ssr*nners say “you don’t understand Kagura’s character, she’s not the type of woman who wants to get married or having kids”… well, if you want to judge a character in such superficial way, if there is a character who always gave the impression of being NOT interested at all in romanticism, who only spent his life traveling and fighting, that is SESSHOMARU. Yet you never had any doubts that he might want to get married and have children just because you’re attracted to him. Finally, if Sesshomaru got married, surely it can happen to Kagura as well.
The second nonsense is when they say that Kagura wanted freedon and not a man… so can’t a woman want more than one thing in her life??? And what connection is there between wanting to be free from slavery and wanting a man or not? The two things simply have nothing to do with each other! Kagura was happy that Sesshomaru was with her during her last moments, so it’s much more logical or natural to think that she could have been happy also to live with Sesshomaru.
Third nonsense is calling SessKagu “toxic”… I guess you didn’t pay attention to the typical dynamic of Rumiko Takahashi couples going through up and down moments, quarrels and apart from once Kagura got angry with Sesshomaru for a moment of frustration because it was about her life and her freedom, their relationship has practically always been one of mutual respect. Even 100% canon couples like InuKag and MirSan had their moments of misunderstanding. So I really don’t see where this “they would be a toxic couple” comes from. Among other things, the two of them have a lot in common.
I’ve been wanting to write this post for a while in defense of SessKagu and finally I did it! But we know why they say such things, they simply don’t accept the fact someone may want to ship Sesshomaru with another woman who is not Rin and they don’t accept that Sesshomaru may have appreciated another woman.
