Do you still feel an attachment to the anime writing commumity? It feels really sucky post pandemic, there always some drama that can be resolved privately, racism against black authors/ readers and overall less meaningful engagement. It has not been the same for quite some time and I am on my last straw with tumblr. May just deactivate at this point.
i honestly feel the exact same way, and even now i’m pushing myself to write but it doesn’t feel as rewarding, i guess? the satisfaction you get from giggling about an idea with your followers/mutuals, gaining inspiration to write, being excited to write, and being satisfied with what you’re posting has really gone down for me :( but i love tumblr and i love the people here that have created a community with me. i do agree that there’s this weird disconnect — we’re viewed as content machines which we aren’t, and in turn there’s a huge lack of interaction. as well as, larger writers and their spaces feel as though they are almost exclusive? idk !! but please, if you feel as though taking a break or deactivating might help then go for it by all means! but think long and hard before you do, just in case you regret :(
