no dude, i'm not talking about punks who exclude bigoted punks from their spaces, it's the insistence that punk as a whole subculture is and was inherently politically progressive (to the point where there are people who are forgetting the "music" part of it). politically progressive punks are kind of a minority of punk in history if anything (most founding punk bands weren't even left-wing; the main "messaging" point of it for a lot of them was just being shocking).

punk is just not an inherently politically progressive genre; there are certainly subsets of punk that are, but that has never been what all punk is like. people like denying that and just calling punk's bad history with bigots "fake punks" and shit which is just false and a way of not actually reconciling with punk's history with bigots. there's a difference between "nazi punks fuck off" and "nazis can't be punk".
