So, Iβve been playing DQIX on my phone recently thanks to the official Delta release, and:
I did not think these could spawn in the overworld???? I thought they only showed up alongside other enemies!!!
#of the starry skies π©β‘πͺ#gameplay tag#that works for the moment#I *am* playing a rebalance patch so I donβt know if that would have affected things at all#but I didnβt think it affected anything to do with spawning enemies or anything?#so who knows!!#..it ran away at the first opportunity before anyone else could move because of course it did#but.. now that I know they're down here.. perhaps I can try and hunt for them a bit!!

Noctua, Guardian of Swinedimples is finally presented, along with his teacher, Macaria !
He got himself a furcoat because he got cold. But instead of negotiating to be assigned somewhere warmer, the stubborn Celestrian stayed to solve all the teenage drama going on around the school (which turned out to be a Sisyphean Task, not that he minds...).
Noctua used to be cold and a bit grumpy, but after comforting so many children over the years, he got much softer and very protective of his charges. Before the Observatory got damaged by an evil beam, he would often discuss with the ghost of Sir Sternivus Swinedimple often, trying (and failing) to convince him to rest in peace and reassure him that the students weren't being troublemakers.
The dead Headmaster was worried when he saw that the Celestrian had mysteriously vanished after the big earthquake that made the entire Protectorate tremble.

RIP Toriyama. He may not have influenced it quite as much as Dragon Ball, but his art gave Dragon Quest so much of its charm, and IX in particular means a lot to me.

Dragon Quest IX: INNS POLL
Since my last DQ9 poll went so well, let me try this again.
Honourable mentions to the healing place at the Observatory, and the Dormitory at Swinedimples, it's cool that they're free (seriously if you heal anywhere other than Swinedimples after finishing the quests in that town, you're doing something wrong), but they aren't technically inns.
Dishonourable mention to Porth Llaffan, Tumblr polls only allow 12 options, and this charming seaside inn was too boring to make the cut.

Had a sudden idea... do Celestrian change outfits from time to time ?

Macaria, in her outfit from 300 years ago !
Something, something about her wearing an outfit that was less suited for combat... and also, she smiled a lot more.
