Sedarah鈥檚 introduction
I want to blog on this topic because there have been ample times where I wished there was a cooking or recipe website that showed all of the possible quick, easy, and cheap meals I could make. Also, being a college student myself, I know that college students are bust with assignments, due dates, and work and something thinking about what meal you are going to eat next is the furthest from your mind or you are just too brain dead to think of what to eat; therefore, creating a blog that does some of the thinking for you could help out a lot.

Do you ever go through the week and see that you running low on money and food. Well, wait no longer聽 because I will share with you some of my favorite meals that you can make for less than ten dollars.
Chicken Pot Pie
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 30 Minuets
Ingredients
1 package (about 14 ounces) refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts), at room temperature
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell鈥檚庐 Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup or Campbell's庐 Condensed 98% Fat Free Cream of Chicken Soup聽
1/2聽 cup milk
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 package (12 ounces) frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, green beans, corn, peas), thawed (about 2 2/3 cups)
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
Step 1
Heat the oven to 400掳F. 聽Line the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate with 1 pie crust. 聽Trim any excess.
Step 2
Stir the soup, milk, chicken and vegetables in a medium bowl. 聽Spoon the chicken mixture into the pie plate. 聽Sprinkle with 3/4 cup cheese. 聽Place the remaining pie crust over the filling. 聽Trim any excess. 聽Crimp the edges of the top and bottom crusts together. 聽Using a sharp knife, cut several slits in the top crust.
Step 3
Bake for 35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. 聽Sprinkle the crust with the remaining cheese.
Here is where you can get the ingredients for LESS than $10 like I promised you I would:
Pie crust $1.50 at Walmart.
Cambell鈥檚 Cream of Chicken $0.88 at Walmart
Milk (small carton) 1.30 at Walmart
Cubed chicken (raw) $3.00 at Walmart
Frozen mixed vegetables $1.00 at Walmart
Cheese $1.50 at Walmart
This is just one of the many meals I like to make and that you can also make for less than $10. My favorite time to make chicken pot pie is when it is cold and I have a taste for southern home cooked food. But, this is an anytime and anyplace recipe. I like to add some of my own home flavorings, which you could do to so that you make the meal your own.聽
You could easily find more by going on Taste of Home. They have a tab on their website that shows you 60 recipes you can make for your $10 budget.聽
If you have already made the chicken pot pie and all of the other 60 meals, I will not leave you hanging, there is a website that i love to use called Credit.com and they have tips on what you should do before grocery shopping to help you save money and make cheap meals.聽

Free food聽 Friday versus sweet Sunday
Who does not like free food. Well I can give you the 4-1-1 on where to get these free snacks. 聽
The University of Florida hosts this event called Gator Nights every Friday night starting sign-up at 7 pm. At this event, they have a segment called midnight munchies. At midnight munchies, you can get free food starting at midnight. They have different food on the menu every week so that you do not get tired of the same ol'. You can find anything from pizza to walking nachos.
聽At the event, you can also get free food throughout the event like popcorn and fruit. The only catch is you have to sign up for the entire event. All you need is to be a UF student, be a guest of a UF student, or just come to the event.
Another place you can get free food is at Mr. Famous. There is a Mr. Famous in Oaks Mall. There you can get free ice cream every Sunday. All you have to do is get in line, wait your turn, and ask for your ice cream. There is no age limit or purchase required. The sweetest part is that you can also add topping for free too.聽
Don't believe me, go see and check them out.
There聽are others ways throughout campus that gives you the opportunity to score free food like club meetings and social events on campus such as BSU meetings and tabling in Turlington.聽

Gator quickies
We all have walked around our college campus, contemplating on what you are going to eat. Most of the time, you kill your thinking time by just going with the same ol'. But, what if I tell you that you can broaden your taste adventures and not use a lot of money.聽
Instead of going to Wendy's or Chic-Fil-A (not saying those places are not amazing!), but stopping by a POD store on campus or look for places on campus that have weekly deals like Wing Zone or Subway.聽
Wing Zone have $5.99 deals where you can get an entree, drink, and side. Subway have there sub of the day that comes in a combo for only $3.50 for a 6-inch or $6 for a foot long. At the POD, you have more variety. You can get a sandwich or fruit, chips or a healthy bar, and a drink for approximately $6 or you can even get things to pop in the microwave from the POD.聽
But, if your appetite is bigger there are places such as Panda Express and Polo Tropical, where you can get full meals with starches and protein for approximately $12.聽
The average student spends about $10 in UF food court and dining halls. The extra two dollars I mentioned is just to cover taxes or if you have a little bit of a sweet tooth and want to grab something sweet.聽
So, if you are ever on campus and really want to grab a bite to eat, remember that you only need about $12 to full your stomach while you rip through campus.聽聽

Gator Greenback, Groupon, and the love for coupons!
At the beginning of every semester in Turlington, there is a representative of Gator Greenbacks that comes and hands out gator greenbacks booklets. Gator Greenbacks is a coupon booklet that have ample variety of coupons from different companies such as BTW (Burgers, Tacos, Wings) to IHOP to Mc Donalds. You can get as many Gator Greenbacks as you like because you can find them all over campus.聽
You will sometimes in the places you least expect like on a coffee table next to Starbucks. You can use Gator Green backs for a quick snack, a meal, or a to cater a party. Yes, they have catering deals!
There are more options for coupons than Gators Greenbacks. College students usually receive deals or have specials. Websites such as Groupon, you can find some quick coupons for meals around you, even at restaurants.
I mostly use pizza coupons and Burger King coupons, which I find in the junk mail that comes to my apartment complex. My favorite coupon code that I personally use the most is from Papa Johns. The code is OP599 and you use it when ordering online.
The coupon is for a two-topping medium size pizza for $5.99 when you purchase two or more. The key to the deals is if you make a Papa Johns account, you will receive points and sometimes free food you can redeem. Also, with this deal, you can make your pizza a large for just $2 more.
So, with coupons there is always a way to save money. I personally only eat or shop at places I have or could get coupons for. YouTube is a good place to learn couponing if you really like saving money, if you have the time!聽
