Malex and baby Nora
I haven't posted a short fic here in a while, but I love this one so I thought I'd share.
Alex tried to pay attention to his book, he honestly was but he kept getting distracted by the cooing/giggling and the baby talking coming from Michael to actually focus.
It was well into the afternoon and since Alex had gotten up early with Nora and had her bathed and fed her breakfast Michael insisted he do lunch while Alex relaxed. So Alex took his book and a glass of sweet tea and laid on their bed. But he was immediately distracted by his husband and their daughter.
“Ooo, ya wanna try some peas my little star.” Michael said, in that sweet baby voice Alex fell in love with instantly.
Nora cooed and he could hear her slapping her hands on the tray attached to her highchair. Alex put the book down and just listened to them interacting in the kitchen.
“Oo some yummy pea- oo that smells bad,” Michael tried to mutter quietly, Alex laughed to himself, not being able to fight back the smile. “I mean.. mmm yummy.”
Their little one made a happy gurgle, clapping her hands.
Alex listened as Michael made some type of munching sound, “ Nom nom, is that good bab-”
Suddenly there was a spit sound and pop followed by several small splats. Alex sat up a bit, waiting. There was only silence then Michael called to him.
“Babe, can you get a towel?!”
Alex held back a laugh, “ Yea… what happened?” He asked as he got out of bed and went to their bathroom grabbing a towel and wetting it with warm water. Coming out into the dining room he laughed out loud this time. His husband was covered in baby food and splats of it scattered around. The jar looked nearly empty.
Michael looked at him, one eye opened and the other closed due to baby food being right on top.
“Nora doesn't like peas.”
Alex laughed looking at their daughter, who was simply laughing at the mess she caused.
Michael smiled, laughing a bit now. Alex smiled, taking the wet washcloth and wiped the baby food off his husband's face. Michael smiled gently, taking his hand and leaned up to kiss his cheek.
Nora let out a happy squeal almost slapping her hand into the baby food mess, Alex stopping her in time.
As Michael got up cleaning up the mess Alex got her out of the highchair, Nora's legs kicking immediately.
“Okay, wiggle worm slow down.” He chuckled, taking her to the guest bathroom and wetting another cloth to wash her face. Wiping her face, Nora squirmed trying to get away making huffing noises. Michael came into the small bathroom, catching her back and holding her into place.
Alex wiped the rest from her face and neck, finishing up kissing her nose, making Nora giggling. Nora cupped his cheeks making a happy noise.
Michael watched them both, his eyes soft and full of love.
