Love the "Tyrion should be killed for being forced to marry Sansa but Tysha being gang-raped was deserved" logic.
Also, I wonder what Jaime thinks about Tyrion being married to Sansa? If only there was something in the books to tell us how much of a good guy Jaime is.

is this a fucking joke
i am asking sincerely

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

Not to defend booktok weirdos but the amount of people in a comment section saying "these people who are obsessed with smut books are literally porn addicts" is insane because if you don't see the difference between smut books written by some random woman and a multi billion dollar industry built on the exploitation of women and minorities and the commodification of their bodies... idk what to tell you. Obviously those books aren't your critical thinking skills.

Truly love the number of people I've met that have been like "Well I went to a Catholic school as a kid, which is to say I'm not Catholic" like damn Catholic schools really out here doing the exact opposite of missionary work.

there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism
if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

I have often said that asoiaf would have ended halfway through the first book if they all had cellphones and I was right.
one thing that's great about the song of ice and fire books is the way nobody ever knows what the fuck is going on. like somebody in a bar will be like "long live good king renly!" and somebody else will be like "oh he died. like a month ago. yeah lady catelyn stark stabbed him" and somebody else will be like "actually I heard he was stabbed by a shadow his brother fathered on a priestess" and a fourth person will be like "wait didn't renly literally just win the battle of king's landing last week" and then they're all like "well, whatever. long live good king whoever it is now. next round's on me"

Fictional stories and inside your imagination are the only places where you explicitly do not have to be responsible, careful or thoughtful of others.
Do whatever you want in fiction and your imagination forever. No one is harmed. You are not harmed. No others are harmed.
The rules and laws of real life do not and never will apply in fiction or your imagination.

My take is that "forced diversity" in media very much isn't a real thing but there is a trend of diversity with 0 thought put into how characters' identities affect them & if it makes any fucking sense what they're doing in the story. And also everybody forgot what tokenism is

Once you start harassing people over their tastes in fiction, you've gone too far.
You should not be sending anon hate.
You should not be telling people to kill themselves.
You should not be contacting people's family members, job, or school.
You should not be sending people gore.
You should not be telling people that they deserve their trauma.
You should not be attacking people over liking something fictional. At that point, you're the problem. Not the person making things you don't like, YOU. Harassment is never acceptable.
