"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.’’ - Edward W. Bok
Somewhere far away from the stresses of normal space and time stands the highest point of elevation in Florida. Over looking rolling hills of green, one's self could almost imagine Italy, but instead of olives and grapes these hills are homes to orange groves and many many lakes. Atop this "mountain" stands one of the most enchanting and beautiful singing towers known as Bok Tower, name after Edward Bok, the mastermind behind this magical place. The tower was built in 1929 and holds 60 bells which are played live daily. Something of it reminds you of gothic Europe, yet more exotic and tropic. Instead of gargoyles perching over there are Herons. Made of materials found in the south such as Georgia marble and Florida sandstone. Edward Bok was a rare creature with a heart for world peace, women's rights, and mother nature. He created a safe haven for plants and animals. All life is protected here. Laying in the grass listening to the bells and gazing up reminds one of the beauty in nature and a real sense of human spirit. -Omebi

Exploring a 1800's Artesian Well in Jacksonville, FL. Possibly the only accessible 'spring' in the city. The water coming up smells and feels of mineral not sulphur. Research via the historic Villa Alexandria estate.
