“What?” Sebastian choked out, nearly spilling the drink in hand as he looked down to find Magnus down on one knee. It was unexpected to say the least, especially with the way things had been going with them lately and Sebastian was unsure of how to react. “You’ve lost your mind, Bane.” He spoke, unsure of himself, unsure of everything in the moment because the more he considered Magnus’ preposterous request the less insane it seemed. “Why me? You and I both know, I’ve never really been the committed type, Magnus. Hasn’t a century of dating me told you that?” Though ‘dating’ seemed an odd word for the relationship they had.

He wasn’t sure how long they’d been like this, Magnus still on his knee, Sebastian gawking in surprise, “I thought we...I though you...” He stopped himself, stepping back, his mind sweeping over years, decades, centuries of memories. From the time Magnus had taken him in as a teenager, through wars, through...memories they’d long since forgotten but still held dear. “Yes.” He choked out, his thoughts returning to the present, staring back down at Magnus and nodding, “Yes, I will marry you. Of course. Yes.” He hesitated before lowering himself to meet Magnus’ eye level, cupping the older Warlock’s face in his hand and trying to find a smile, his emotions conflicting but quickly turning to excitement, “I don’t know why, why you want this so suddenly, but how could I ever say no to you? I never could. And I never will.”

Sebastian shook his head and glanced away, he couldn’t do this right now, he didn’t want to. It had been decades since that confession of love and he had tried so hard to forget it. To forget that he felt anything for the Warlock who thought he was being kind by ‘letting him down easy’. Kindness would have been to put Sebastian out of his misery, but in time he did start to heal. But for Magnus to bring this up now? Just when he was okay again? Unfair. “I’m not talking about this, Magnus.” He turned his back to Magnus, finishing off the liquor left in his glass and setting it down. “Besides. You and I both know that question never needs asking. My answer hasn’t changed. It won’t change.” He sucked in a deep breath and closed his eyes, “But, you already gave me a pretty definite answer at that Queen concert….when you left with Freddie.” He turned back, giving Magnus a look of indignance. “I thought we agreed we’d stop digging up the past, Magnus?”

Me.” Sebastian walked back over to Magnus and fixed his tie before nodding and giving a small pout, “You promised. And I promised I’d let you do that thing after the benefit.
