after i made a post saying i wasnt going to treat myself like a machine to update fics i felt better about taking my time on updates until i kept seeing people constantly complain about other author’s updates not being frequent enough. how a fic that hasnt updated since november is "dead." or how they want an update so bad from an author who left the fandom and theyre so frustrated with them. and this is your reminder that authors owe you nothing. so stop complaining about this. you’re sending a message to every fic author who sees that message that we are worth nothing but what we create to you. a fic that hasn’t updated in a couple months or years isn’t dead until the author themself says it is. give fic authors some fucking grace & time and stop guilt tripping us. we do this for free.

i will admit, things have been... good,, mostly. there have been many rough patches, but i'm pushin' through! i haven't had a ton of time or energy to write as of late, especially since most of my writing energy is being used academically, but i've still been greasing the wheel in a fiction writing class. so that's nice! if i ever like one of my little prompts enough, i'd love to share it on here. for funsies. but yeah! just been busy time for me. thank you for this sweet little check in, i'm so glad you're still enjoying the fic even without anything new. i hope you're doing okay. :)

writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.

hello! so, there has been lotsa talk about my fic today and i just realized i'd forgotten to post a holiday fic for new year's that i wrote... last year, haha. it's team rancher. as to be expected. but i have a question! and i'm gonna use the poll feature because why the hell not.

i figured i'd put out feelers since i'd been really active today and my posts might actually show up LMAO. tell me what you think! i really love the fic, personally, but i know it's past the holidays now and no one might want to read a new year's-themed fic.

i'll keep the poll up for a few days and see what the results are, then go from there. <3
