I used to hate the word faggot but now I realize that it's probably one of the only things that the gay community has left that isn't being sanitized, shined, and sold back to us at a premium by deceitful ass companies who claim to like us but then vote for policies that kill us. you're not gonna see a bank in a pride parade with banners that say "we love faggots" but you sure as hell will see a gay person saying "I love being a faggot" it feels so more real.
and I want it to stay controversial too because if a bank ever feels like they have the right to say "haha faggot right guys? 😏🏳️‍🌈" we should be able to publicly execute their ceo

Anyone else playing Lancer for the first time on roll20 and notice how annoying it is that the hex tokens you spent hours working on just don't fit the grid very well or don't align perfectly? Yeah, me too, so I figured it out and made a tutorial on how to fix it.
Also this might in part be a cleaver ploy to try and get a couple subscribers on my old dead youtube channel. See, I'm about 22 subs away from 3k, and at 3k subs I can apply for a free copy of VoiceMod, which is a voice changer and sound board that a lot of people use for their roleplay groups. So If I can make a couple helpful videos and get a free $100 piece of software that makes me sound like a mech pilot or whatever else I need to be for various TTRPG sessions, I'll beg for subs. I promise I won't clog up your feed, I only post randomly every few months and the channel is pretty dead. Hell, you can even unsub if I start posting again, so long as I hit that 3k and get my free stuff first.
Even if this video is motivated by getting free stuff with my fake youtube clout, I do hope it helps some of you figure out how to use roll20 better. I'm really hyped that Lancer seems to be picking up steam and becoming more popular too, because I'm kind of obsessing over this game.

Hey, I just noticed something. So I've been blocking bots by the dozen every day, as I'm sure lots of you are. And normally it's a pretty fast and painless thing, just open their blog to make sure it's a bot, and then block them. Then I realized, there's an ad on the right side. Normally my adblocker is up so I don't notice this, but for whatever reason my plugins didn't start up today and I saw it.
Now this might be conspiracy levels of thinking, but I wonder if this is intentional? The person making the bots must know we all check new followers and block bots regularly (which has almost turned into part of tumblr culture at this point), but if we have to click on the blog to check it and block it, then we count as a view for that ad.
The way ads work with google adsense is the space posting the ads gets paid per thousand impressions (CPM) and if someone clicks an ad they normally earn more (CPC). It's normally not much, the average CPM is around $3 per thousand, but if you're a bot following thousands or 10s of thousands of people per day, and even one thousand of those people click the blog to block it, that bot is making $3 a day. Now, how many bots have you gotten today? That all adds up pretty fast over the hundreds or thousands of new bot accounts out there.
Now, I have no idea how ads work on tumblr. I know you can enable ads to make money from views (I think I have this enabled? Maybe on side blogs? I have adsense from youtube so I think I enabled it since I already have an account. I'm not a big enough blog to get paid either way), but I don't know if that payment goes through tumblr in any way, or if they just enable the html to automatically link your adsense ads if enabled. So I don't know if getting an account banned even stops payment or not. Like, if tumblr is hands off and just enables the html so you can do your thing and earn something, then every view before ban is recorded by google, not tumblr, and that counts towards earnings. So they might not care about being banned, because the money is already earned.
Now, I'm not saying we shouldn't keep blocking, but it does make me wonder if they're playing to our need to keep blocking with that in mind from the start.
I'm going to add here, I could be completely wrong. 99% of my adsense knowledge comes from my youtube channel, which works a little differently. It's possible that the banner ads are only CPC and not based on views, but I don't think that's the case from my experience. And honestly I don't even know where to read up on how non-youtube ads work specifically. But, it's definitely something that I think might be possible. If anyone knows more about this, feel free to add to the conversation. Maybe some big blogs who actually earn anything? Does those even exist on here?

People say chickens don't like being petted? My roosters DEMAND to be petted and loved. One of them had a spot on the deck railing where he would jump up and sit down in front of me until I petted him and he'd fall asleep. I could pet him for hours.

So I just found out that if I get 3k subs of more, I can apply for a free copy of VoiceMod, which is a neat voice changing program that could be a lot of fun for DnD and making videos. I'm currently at 2970 subs. So if my tutorials helped out any of you (near 1 million views on this one) or you don't mind helping out a semi-retired adventurer who doesn't really make videos very much any more, I'd appreciate the help. Feel free to sub and completely ignore the single video I put out once in a great while or occasional series when life is slow and I have time to actually record.
I just need 30 subs to finally break 3000, which is also a goal I pretty much gave up on years ago, but that would also be cool on top of getting something new to play with.

I admit, I felt like this was an attack at first because "I'm like… y'all are free to disagree. But y'all will also be the ones continuously fucking up your interpersonal relationships, not me. 😆" sounded like judgement and mockery if I didn't know you were literally saying "I made this mistake in my relationships."
And while I felt a little insulted the only reason I didn't take it more seriously was because I know you and your content pretty well after a few years of following you and and listening to your videos and podcast, so I know you didn't mean it in a fucked up way. If I didn't know you I might think this was an ableist red flag because a lot of the people disagreeing are saying they're on the autism spectrum, myself included, and the stereotype of "autistic people have to explain everything and suck at relationships" is very much a thing. Like, I know you're not ableist, but if I didn't know you and didn't have the context of this post, that comment could really come off that way. I'm not sure, but don't you have ADHD or something? I might be misremembering, but I feel like that was mentioned at some point.
Anyway, this whole thing prompted a discussion with my friends and almost unanimously we agreed that we're in camp explanation, and the only person who wasn't was like "yeah, it's fine to explain if you lead with an apology first. As long as it's not you trying to get off the hook or lie, and you're just clarifying the situation, you're good." And that person is the closest person in the friend group to neurotypical. I feel like this is very much a thing of the circles you travel in.
I'm sorry that you had it rough in the past with people who didn't value that form of apology, or maybe they way you explained yourself was misconstrued into something you didn't mean for it to be. I appreciate the advice from your bad experiences, and I understand that some people don't want to hear explanations. They view them as excuses and ways to get out of trouble, or maybe the timing just isn't right for them. I know how to conduct myself around people who think that way, and even if the apology I get from them isn't gratifying or helps me, I understand they're trying in the way that works for them. And I know how to apologize to them without explaining, even if I feel like it would help the situation if I were in their shoes. I hope you understand, likewise, that there is not a universal answer. If it was, this whole heated debate wouldn't have started, we all would have just agreed that there's one right answer and that thread would have a dozen notes.
The replies to me about the apology/explanation post have been interesting.
I think people keep assuming I'm the kind of person who doesn't want the explanation.
Or that the reason I'm sharing the advice isn't because I've spent a good chunk of my life being the person who needs to explain why they did something, and that this is in many ways a reminder to myself that this isn't a helpful thing a lot of the time and part of me is doing it just because I feel bad.
Like, y'all, I'm giving this advice because I maybe fucked up a lot of relationships earlier in my life being that person myself. Also, some folks are seeing it as an attack. Like saying something that they do might be a little selfish makes them a bad person.
We all do selfish things sometimes. Purity of self is a fiction no one can achieve. The world isn't black and white, and acknowledging that in general is the only way to grow.
And maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there really is an altruistic reason you'd explain yourself to a person you've hurt who doesn't actually want to hear it.
But I sure can't think of one, and it doesn't make it helpful.

so here's your regular reminder to not spend any money on this woman or her garbage franchise -- that means no videogame, no books, no movies, no direct-to-hulu specials -- even pirating the content gives her hatespeech more of a platform & exposes more people to her fascist propaganda.
consider, instead, donating a couple dollars to a trans woman in need, or a charity aimed at supporting trans youth.

I feel like we need to list out the facts of these horrifying chimps.
They don't have blood and cannot bleed out
They continue to function after taking severe damage to skeletal and muscular systems
They are FAST
They don't feel pain in a meaningful way
They don't fear death
Their nervous systems are vulnerable to damage which can result in impairment
This leads me to biological questions.
Do they even have vital organs? Like, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, those all are very blood oriented organs and those are the gotos for making something less alive, excluding the brain from that list.
Do they still have similar organs that are not related to blood, but still perform similar functions? for example some kind of lung alternative that transfers oxygen to some kind of transfer system to allow metabolic functions? Doesn't have to be lungs, it could be spongy muscle in their ass to let them breath like a sea cucumber, but if they don't have blood, do they need O2?
How damaged does the brain need to be to kill them? If they can't bleed out, then the brain can't bleed, and the brain bleeding is a big reason things die from minor brain damage. It causes problems from putting pressure on other parts of the brain, to starving the brain of O2. So are we scrambling chimp brains?
Let's do some testing. Let's say you've pinned one of these bastards to a wall with your harpoon, maybe even pinning a few in to hold it secure, and I've got the grizzly task of learning. I take out my combat knife and start cutting and poking. How much and what parts do I have to remove or pierce until it's considered dead?
I'd argue, based on the answers, these could be a lot scarier than zombies.
If chimpanzees didn't have blood, meaning you couldn't kill them by bleeding them out, what sort of equipment would you want to hunt and kill a chimpanzee?
Let's say the chimp is in an urban environment, like an apartment building, possibly an abandoned barn.

TIL that the reason lead levels in children’s blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.
