Insomniac Sevika headcanons

Okay so we all know our girl hasn't had an easy life and even now she is often plagued by both the past and present.

Now Sevika doesn't sleep not because she can't but because she doesn't want to. For all her fears and trauma manifest into frightening and spine-chilling nightmares.

Before she met you, she often dreamt of her belligerent and violent father and how he shaped her into the person she is today in harsh and undoubtedly cruel ways. As much as she is aware that she is not and could never be as brutal as he was, she sees him in herself every time she grinds her teeth, raises her voice or loses her temper.

She dreamt of her little brother and the inhumane way in which the enforcers took him from her. For that, she sees herself as a failure and attempts to atone for it every single day. Her role of a protector is something she guards relentlessly as she never wishes to have someone she loves and cares about be taken from her ever again.

After the explosion, she dreams of the pain. The hot, searing and blinding pain of losing a piece of herself she could never regain. As much as she likes to show off her mechanical arm and as grateful as she is for being able to have one of such quality, late at night she wakes up in cold sweat and clutches a part of her that isn't there anymore.

Because of all this, she tends to gamble, smoke and drink away her nights away at the Last Drop because she knows that her aching body and fatigue will weigh down on her as soon as she enters her cold, lonely apartment.

Now the situation takes a turn once she meets you.

You, who unabashedly and without restraint show her all the kindness, love and comfort that she deserves. You, who teaches her that she doesn't always have to be the strong one and that she deserves to be held and comforted. You, who slowly knock down all the walls and defenses that she built around her fragile and fragmented heart over the years.

With time, she learns to confide in you. She tells you about her hopes and dreams for Zaun's future, about her past, her worries, fears and ultimately, her nightmares.

Despite being aware of how inherently good and kind you are, it will take time for her to allow you to hold her and comfort her when she cries. But when she does, she will cling to you with all her might, let you caress her hair, wipe away her tears and kiss her forehead so softly that she thinks she imagined it.

She isn't as scared of her nightmares now that she has you. She'll go to hell and back as long as that means that she has your embrace to come home to.

Whatever happens, come hell or high water, she vows to never let you leave her side and, little does she know, your heart signs of the very same promise.
