Name: Kassandra Kennett Superpower: Fire manipulation Age: 20 Gender/pronouns: She/Her Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Face Claim: Zendaya Coleman (+ loyal, honest & - hot-headed, withdrawn)
Bio:
The child of known supervillain Kato Kennett and his estranged wife, superhero Camilla Caffrey, Kassandra has always inspired fear with her name, before anyone has had a chance to get to know her. Kassandra’s father was captured and imprisoned when she was twelve, following a world-domination plot gone wrong. Since then, she has been raised by her mother, who separated from him following his arrest, though is still reeling from the shock and hurt that her father left behind.
Because of her father’s notoriety, Kassandra has struggled to form meaningful relationships all her life, and has resultantly become a bit of a loner. She expects people to expect the worst from her, so she has stopped making any effort with them. This has caused her to spurn a lot of people at Save U who didn’t intend to judge her.
In her junior year, Kassandra is already ready to leave college. Part of her is determined to move away from the reputation her father left behind and do something inspiring to save the world, and the rest of her is drawn to simply moving into the background, disappearing without a trace.

Name: June Joyce Superpower: Empathy Age: 20 Gender/pronouns: She/her Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Face Claim: Natalia Dyer (+ kind, clever, optimistic &- stubborn, inconsistent, duplicitous)
Bio:
(tw: mental illness, depression, attempted suicide)
It was always only June and her mom, living alone in a sunny Michigan suburb. Single parenthood was easy for Ms. Joyce: she and June lived syncronistically, following each other’s patterns and moods. June was an easy child: quick to please; clever; popular, but never cruel about it. They had a simple life, and that that was it, and it was nice.
Things changed when June was sixteen. Suddenly, June became moody, inconsistent, devastated one moment and overjoyed the next. June lost weight, and gained it back, she became dangerous to herself, spontaneous at moments, and then quiet and worried the next. These moods became increasingly concerning to June’s mother, but June could hardly notice them shift, caught up in their constantly fluctuating waves. One day, June left for school happy-- humming, grinning, kissing her mother on the cheek on her way out the door-- and came home and tried to kill herself. The next day, June was admitted to a mental hospital.
June’s stay in the institution only made things worse-- mind flooded with too much input-- mania and depression and worry and delirium-- that she couldn’t feel for herself anymore. Emotion, to June, was an external force and not her own. Treatment after treatment failed, until one doctor suggested a different cause for her problems. Had they heard of empaths? A super power-- the ability to feel the emotions of others. A gift. After researching June’s father’s history, they discovered that he, too, had superpowers. June was not sick, just unaware of her own abilities.June finished high school like a normal teenager, but was tutored, after school, to hone in her abilities. She learned to concentrate on the gaps between herself and others-- to open herself up to other’s emotions without them becoming her own. And once she graduated, she enrolled in Save University, where she hoped to master them, to do something good with herself, to make a difference.
At Save University, June made friends fairly easily, breaking the stereotype of hero support as losers. One particular friend she met was Calvin Corelli, a boy who, since they met on the first day of classes, had become essential to her own identity. It was halfway through their freshman year that Calvin revealed that he had a vision of her. A vision of her dying. A vision that repeats for him, daily. While June has full faith in Calvin’s ability to save her, she walks around with a ticking clock on her back, constantly counting down. She’s determined that, if she’s fated to die, she can at least do something meaningful in the uncertain time she has left.

Name: Calvin Corelli. Superpower:`Precognition. Age: 21. Gender/pronouns: He/him. Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual/heteromantic Face Claim: Logan Shroyer. (+Sharp, consistent, calm & -anxious, cynical, private)
Bio: (tw: parental death, suicide)
Away fighting in Kosovo, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Corelli missed the birth of his eldest son back home in New York City – holding him for the first time when he was five weeks old. He went on to miss his first word, his first steps, and his first day of kindgarten – too busy raising an army of soldiers to put in the work with his own family. More crucially than any of those milestones, Charles Corelli was out of the country at the moment of his wife’s death, fourteen years after that first missed moment. It was a moment that Calvin Corelli could never have forgotten – by then, he’d been predicting it for the last six years. As a young child, Calvin had been excited to discover what his power would be, hopeful to follow in his mother Ophelia’s telepathic footsteps and find himself marked as special and super. He was eight when he finally got his wish.
For all his anticipation, Calvin quickly became afraid of the future. A hug from his mother one morning brought him a vision of her death, a future that he may or may not be able to change. At first, the visions started off small and ordinary. A fall at home. An incident crossing the road. Normal, mundane deaths. Calvin kept his mother away from them, saved her life every chance he could. But the more his mother avoided her fate, the harder fate fought them. One car turned into a pile-up, and then a bridge collapse, and then a bombing. Each time, Calvin saved his mother – but fate chased them. He blamed himself for each incident, watching the news report scores of dead, knowing each time that fate had sent each disaster just to take his mother from him. But Calvin couldn’t let it. As he grew older, he realised he could change things – visions would disappear, or turn to static. Some just wouldn’t come true. There were timelines that could shift, and moments that were fixed. If they could keep running, they could avoid his mother’s death. He could see the future. He could stay one step ahead.
Calvin was at school one day when he was filled with a growing sense of dead. Searching, as he often did, for the next vision involving his mother – he found his mind blank. Anxious and panicked, Calvin rushed home, finding EMTs at his house, police marking off the scene. For six years, they’d run together from fate. But finally, crucially, his mother had run towards it – taking her own life. The voices in her head had got too much, her note explained. Charles, home for five days of leave for the funeral, burnt it before Calvin had a chance to memorise the last words from his mother. His father quickly returned to fighting overseas, and Calvin and his brother moved in with their aunt in Brooklyn. All it took was one jackpot rollover to make them rich – Calvin split $40 million with his aunt and brother, but no amount of money could ease how stuck he felt, trying to forget his past and trying to ignore his future.
If Calvin was afraid of the future before then, he grew increasingly fearful after. He loathed long-term visions, avoided people and touch in the hopes of avoiding seeing their futures. He focused only on the short-term, on minutes, or hours, and avoided dealing with years. The distant future clouded a little, but his sense grew clearer, and he grew more confident. At school, he focused on sport to keep him busy, playing soccer and taking part in athletics. It was while playing tennis at a local club that Calvin realised he could use his powers to predict opponent’s moves, giving him a clear advantage. It was this aspect of his powers he focused on to get onto the Hero Track at Save U – using his short-term precognition for combat and agility. Things got easier once he was at college – moving to LA finally allowed him to breathe, reinventing himself as a hero, not a prophet, and Calvin finally began to put the past behind him. He was no longer marked in the same way.
That plan worked until he met June Joyce. Shaking her hand on the first day of class, Calvin was hit with a vision of her death – an arm, a gun, and a shot at point-blank. For all the anxiety he felt, he befriended her, curious about the mystery and even more curious about the girl. Now his best friend and his partner in all ridiculous schemes and adventures, Calvin is determined to save her, knowing he can get it right this time. He is haunted by potential futures and visions, and is closed-off as a result, sarcastic, cynical, and touch-averse. Calvin carries a weight on his shoulders, the burden of the future, but tries to hide his growing panic under the guise of being cool and collected. He plays sports, tells jokes, goes to parties – but beneath it all, he remains fearful of all those he can’t save.

Name: Wyatt Walsh Superpower: Super-Speed Age: 21 Gender/pronouns: he/him Sexual Orientation: bisexual Face Claim: Dylan O'Brien (+charismatic, +personable and -uncertain, -impulsive)
Bio:
To the world, they were Wonder Flash & Femme Battle, but to their family & friends, they were simply William and Wendy Walsh. Two of the worlds most well-known superhero’s who had fallen in love and pledged to fight crime together forever. They welcomed their first son, Wyatt, their pride and joy, and expected great things from him. He became the oldest of three when his parents had twins, his sister Willow and brother Wiley three years later. Wyatt loved being an older brother and was curious about why his parents always had to disappear at the drop of a hat, but wouldn’t find out the truth until a few years later. While he was exploring his house one day shortly after his tenth birthday, he discovered his parents’ secret bunker full of their superhero equipment. They sat him down and explained everything including that he most likely had powers, too, though they might take a while to expose themselves.
When he entered high school at the age of fourteen, he was upset because he hadn’t been exhibiting any superhero-like powers and felt like a failure to his mom and dad. That was, until he joined his high school’s track team. It was the championship race that would determine whether they would come in first after multiple years in the bottom, or add another loss to their record. As he neared the final turn on the track, something within Wyatt stirred, and he felt his legs moving faster than they ever had before. Next thing he knew, he was standing in the winners circle getting a gold medal placed around his neck. it was then that he knew his superpowers had just made themselves known and he (literally) ran home to tell his parents; which only took him about a minute to get there from school.
With his new-found powers, Mr. Walsh put some pressure on his oldest son to carry on the family legacy to protect the citizens of the world from danger. However, Wyatt had just begun attending meetings of the photography club on campus and was developing a keen interest in it faster than his own power of super speed had developed. And he was quite gifted at it, too! Between school, homework, chores, and photography lessons, he was being trained by his parents on the basics of becoming a superhero; needless to say, Wyatt had a lot on his plate. Deep down, he knew that his true passion was photography and dreamed of traveling the world one day taking photos, but his destiny seemed to already be laid out in front of him.
Accompanying him as a civilian, Wyatt followed his dad along on one of his missions and witnessed him getting injured by a villain. It took months for Wonder Flash to recover, and Wyatt knew in that moment that he didn’t want that life for himself, but also knew he had a duty to use his powers for good. His father recovered quickly & without any long-time injuries & was back in his suit the next time someone put the world in danger. To appease his parents, Wyatt decided to attend Save University to further develop his superhero skills. He gets along fine with his classmates, is captain of the track team, and even started a photography club! His biggest concern, however, is figuring out how to tell his parents that he has no intention of becoming a superhero after graduation. Until then, he’ll work as hard as he needs to to keep his grades up, all the while deepening his love of photography.

Name: Freddy Hua Superpower: immortality Age: 21 Gender/pronouns: he/him Sexual Orientation: homosexual Face Claim: Miguel Herran  (+confident, charismatic, charming, bold & -naive, oblivious, dumb)
Bio: (tw: death and parental death)
Freddy’s parents were well known heroes but tragically both died on a mission when he was six. Family friends, the Hua’s, took him in and adopted him and he grew up always knowing he was truly considered a part of the family. He’s always been mischievous and a bit of a joker, and he absolutely loves any and all attention. Because of this he’s always been a bit of a daredevil, even before he realised his power was immortality. He’s known for never turning down a dare, and will do about anything if it means garnering him said attention.
From a young age Freddy has been actively seeking out what his superpower could be, and although he wouldn’t admit it, it was one of his biggest fears to not have a power, especially considering that both of his birth parents were heroes. When Freddy was fourteen, his friend dared him to jump a gap between two tall buildings. Freddy underestimated how big it was and let’s just say he didn’t quite make it across. As he was falling he remembered thinking maybe my power is that I can fly and then thinking no I definitely cant fly I’m 100% about to die omfg. He woke up 24 hours later in a funeral home and had to find the undertaker and explain that he thought he was immortal. This was all after, of course, screaming “IM FUCKING IMMORTAL!” the second he realised what had happened when he woke up in a coffin.
Freddy is on the hero track at Save U, and he is focused on honing his fighting skills in as many ways as possible. He’s very athletic, and is a member of martial arts, boxing, and ninja warrior club. He’s roommates with Felix Faber and has a kind of major crush on the golden boy, but he doesn’t want to risk ruining their friendship and so he hasn’t taken said crush past his usual flirtations. He’s been best friends with Wyatt Walsh since freshman year and also has a friends with benefits thing going on with the other boy.

Name: Felix Frances Faber Superpower:`Water manipulation/aquatic adaptation Age: 21 Gender/pronouns: he/him Sexual Orientation: pansexual Face Claim: Darren Barnet (+disciplined, loyal & -jealous, vain)
Bio:
Felix Frances Faber grew up knowing more likely than not, he’d have some kind of powers. With a mother who could fly at supersonic speeds and a father that could manipulate metal, his genetics meant he was destined for something special. So it was to no one’s surprise when one day when he was four, he dove into the family pool and didn’t emerge until his panicked babysitter dragged him out ten minutes later. That was only the beginning — along with not needing to breathe underwater and being able to withstand much higher water pressure levels than the average person — in the years that followed, Felix started to figure out that he could manipulate and even conjure water in all its forms.
As far as superpowers go, it’s a cool one, and Felix has enjoyed figuring out the limits of what he can do, and he’s worked hard learning to master his abilities. So it was only natural he wound up at Save U. Along with acing his classes, he’s captain of the swim team, and also does martial arts, boxing, ninja warrior and debate. Having grown up with supportive parents who’ve done nothing but encourage him, Felix carries himself with a quiet, but steady confidence. He knows he’s good. And hot. And powerful. What’s not to be confident about? He works hard and plays harder, and though he may not be the loudest member of the popular crew, he’s hard to miss.
Still, no one’s perfect and while Felix is loyal to a fault to those he lets into his circle, he can get jealous and overprotective, and his need to care for the people he loves get make him overbearing sometimes. Sometimes you need a friend, not a nagging mother, right? And he spends way too much time admiring his hair and his abs. Like seriously, Narcissus would be ashamed. Despite that, it doesn’t stop half of Save U’s population from swooning a little over their golden boy.

"Okay, everyone, time to take your seats.” Professor Graham, better known as Wraith, announces at the start of class. Once everyone is seated, he begins.
Tumblr media
“Welcome to this week’s seminar. Next year, you will all be starting field experience. It’s exciting to finally get out there and use your powers in the real world. But before you do, we need to work on your alter egos.
Superman, Wonder Woman and Iron Man. What’s one of the many things they have in common? An iconic costume. When people picture you, the suit is going to be the first thing they notice. It says a lot about you and what kind of hero you are. Take the Comedian, for example. His look is very practical. It’s not flashy, its purpose is to protect him and supply him with weapons. On the other end you have Starfire, who mostly wears revealing leotards and thigh high boots. But one of her superpowers is durability, so armor isn’t something she needs to think about.
“There are many elements to a good superhero costume. Color schemes, silhouettes and clothing pieces - shoes, gloves, capes, masks, and logos.
Color schemes vary. The most popular one is any combination of red, blue and yellow. But, when it comes to choosing your super suit’s palette, anything goes. It’s the same with silhouettes. Do what makes you feel your best, and look your best. But there are no hard and fast rules about what shape your costume has to be, nor do you have to run around in tights and underwear unless you want to.
“Make sure your shoes are practical. Ladies, I know heels look great. But can you chase a suspect or run into a burning building in those things? You need to be able to run and fight in them, and they need to be durable too.
“Capes....they look cool, but unless it’s fireproof, bulletproof, et cetera, it’s more of a hazard than anything. Masks are a great way to hide your identity, or to look more threatening, but they can limit your vision, or slip in a battle and blind you.
So, for homework this week, I want you to design the first draft of what you’d like your superhero costume to look like. Don’t worry about logos yet - we will have an entire class dedicated to insignias in a couple weeks. Come back with your sketches next week, and we will work on editing them into your final looks.”
This week’s task is to create a superhero costume for your character using this game and post it. Once you have done so, please link to it on discord under the #tasks channel. Have fun with it, and I can’t wait to see the designs everyone comes up with!
