Favorite Thiam Fics in 2018

🎅🎄🎊🎁 Merry Christmas, dear members of the Thiam pack! Since I was already forced to pick a favorite fic from this year, I decided to do the extended list, too. I know, I know, some of you might feel like there are stories missing in this. I might not have read them (yet). These are simply those that I kept on my mind (in my heart) especially. Here it goes:

Am7 by offbrandgizmo (3k, Complete): Where the sounds of a piano echo through Beacon Hills High. Literally the most aesthetically pleasing fic I’ve ever read.

astripta by @marauders-mess (T, 3.5k, Complete): Liam saw black and white since he had memory.Theo sees things, feels things, tastes things the way they’re not supposed to be. - “You’re not a freak. You’re a miracle.”

Baby Gay’s Big Day by @ajp-37 (T, 7.3k, Complete): Thiam meets Queer Eye. Teenage lacrosse star Liam is struggling with his sexuality and feelings for his roommate. The Fab 5 help him to get the courage to ask his man to prom and start living his best life.

Desolate by @glitter-cake20 (E, 60k, Complete): Liam involuntarily becomes an Alpha. He refuses accept the new wolf and instead runs away, leaving Beacon Hills behind, and takes to a small cabin in the Colorado mountains for refuge, mostly from himself. He subdues the alpha wolf in him… Until one day when he has absolutely no choice but to let it out.

Don’t Forget to Breathe by @snaeken (E, 24k, Complete): Formerly a professional ice hockey player in the NHL, Theo suffered a career-ending injury on the ice which resulted in the loss of everything he held dear to him. No longer able to cope with his teammates pity, and the speculation from the media and the general public on how bad his injury really is, Theo runs away. He goes back to the hometown he left behind when he turned pro, hoping to find solace in a place which has previously caused him so much pain. After a chance encounter in a graveyard of all places, Beacon Hills local Liam Dunbar slots himself into Theo’s life, wanting to aid him in both his physical and mental recovery. Theo quickly discovers he’s not the only one who has demons, and when feelings become involved… well that’s just inevitable, isn’t it?

Isn’t Something Missing? by @xtarmanderx (86.7k, Complete): Liam knew something was missing from his life. Why did everyone else have the name of their soulmate and his was missing? - Season 6A re-write and it’s honestly so good!

Lean On Me by @tabbytabbytabby (E, 103k, Complete): Liam feels pressured to step up as stand-in-alpha now that Scott and the older pack is at uni, but ends up stretching himself way too far and majorly over-exerting himself, to the point where it starts affecting his health—enter concerned Theo, stage left.

Matching Colors by @osirismind (G, 12.7k, Complete): Corey and Mason set up artist Liam with writer Theo. With extra positivity and a little something special to take away from it.

Message Not Sent by @vorsakh (E, 23k, WIP): The one and only Thiam sexting fic featuring dick pics. Must read for all lovers of smut.

Mix Tape by @extrasteps (T, 5.8k, Complete): The one where Liam gives Theo a CD to listen to during a longer car ride, and you break with him while reading until Liam makes everything whole and good again.

Ocean Eyes by @trash-writes-thiam and myself. (M, 84k, WIP): I usually wouldn’t put my own works in here, but I got to experience half of it as a reader, too, and I freaking love it. Snow White AU with Liam as Snow White, Theo as the prince, Brett as the evil queen and the McCall pack as the seven dwarfs.

Red by @ajp-37 and @extrasteps (E, 126k, WIP): Where Theo returns back from hell with a red string connecting him to Liam and all of Season 6 is changed for the better, because these two know what we truly deserve.

Rivals AU by @thiamlife (83.5k, WIP): Theo, captain of the Football team, and Liam, captain of the Lacrosse team, and they both claim they can’t stand each other and it would be all so easy if it weren’t for the fact that both find their counterpart more than just attractive and maybe one of their screaming matches on the field ends with them furiously making out under the shower after everybody else is gone.

Safety of the Dark by @snaeken (T, 39.5k, WIP): Precious big brother Liam falls in love with skater Theo. There are so many animal facts in it and the writing is serious incredible. I will never stop telling every Thiam lover to read this. It’s a must. Do it. Now.

Sculpted Vision by @all-thoughts-thiam (6k, Complete): Liam and mascara. There’s this feeling of being insecure, and beautiful, and invincible. There’s Theo, too. Who turns the world around.

Sense8 by @theodorerr (14.7k, Complete): Liam suddenly finds himself telepathically connected to seven people. One of them is particularly annoying. Thiam and Sense8 combined - what’s not to like?

Shirts Off by @extrasteps and @snaeken (M, 10k, Complete): Theo is chubby and self-conscious, and Liam wants to prove to him there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

The Boyfriend Experience by @extrasteps (E, 53k, Complete): Theo is a self-made alpha werewolf. Liam works as and escort. Theo books the boyfriend experience, but what happens between the two is far more than what people usually pay Liam for. Also this fic is literal perfection.

the insufferably cruel life of Theo Raeken: an anti-love story by @marauders-mess (M, 27.5k, Complete): Theo isn’t dumb.He’s read enough books, watched enough shows, seen enough movies and spiralled into fanfiction enough times to see where this is heading. He completely refuses to fill whatever Person A’s role is stored for him in life.No sir, that’s not his thing. Person B can pretty much suck his ass.

Tougher Than The Rest by @glitter-cake20 (E, 44k, Complete): Theo is horribly self conscious about his body, but a pair of blue eyes sees him for what he truly is. Filled to the brim with positivity and important messages.

Unholy by @lovelylittlegrim (E, 40k, WIP): Liam can’t keep himself from wanting Theo even though he really, really shouldn’t. Theo doesn’t seem to mind though, he loves secretly pulling Liam into rooms to make him beg for it. Especially, when there’s the chance of being caught.

We Who Wait by @wolfenboyb (T, 49.7k, WIP): Liam is the son of a local preacher struggling to get good grades, to fit in, to live up to his father’s expectations. Every spare moment is spent at the church or school, much to his best friend’s annoyance. So when Mason drags Liam out to an underground all-ages punk rock show he’s thrown into a world that frightens and excites him. Especially when he meets Theo, the pink haired, in-everyones-face vocalist that gives no fucks and causes trouble where ever he can. And he has a close eye on the preacher’s son.

Sirius: Aaaand… It’s James Potter walking downs the charms corridor, look at him go! You can see the confidence in his eyes. Frankly, it’s surprising he didn’t give up years ago. Thoughts, Moony?

Remus: An incredible sight Pads, just incredible. We all assumed that he was done after attempt 380, I mean, the lad still has scars! But, Mr. Potter just will not give up! He better soon, or I’m out 10 galleons.

Sirius: And Potter nearly collides with Emmeline Vance, but swerved just in time to catch a certain short, feisty redhead!Will attempt number 381 be the one? Go James Go!

Remus: This is Remus Lupin with a quick update. I am currently watching a very angry Lily Evans hexing both James and Sirius, what a sight. We’ll see you next time, on attempt 382, Potter guarantees it.
