I went with the classic nerite snails and the very cute ember tetras. I've only just turned the tank on so they are trying to adjust to the light being on and so aren't as active as they were with it off. I love them so much♡ The shop were very violent getting them into the bag and all of their fish weren't very well looked after so they are very white. But changing tanks does that to them anyway. I like to think I saved them! They have so much room to explore and they're so sweet. Seriously an underrated fish. My snails have a lot of algae to get through but at least I don't have to worry about it spreading anymore.
Video quality isn't the best so I put filters on to make it look better🥲
Obviously it looks better in person. (My camera quality, photo skills and angle are terrible)
I put beneficial bacteria, ammonia drops and used an old filter to cycle and as soon as I did a water test it was cycled!!!
I'm not going to put fish in yet though, since I still want to let the plants grow more and put a few pieces of wood and put a black back on. I learned from last time and won't put any fish in a tank that is this bare despite the plants.
My heater has broken🥺 So even if I wanted fishes I couldn't until I get one.
If anyone has any recommendations for fish I'm all ears.
I was thinking about a Betta or Gourami but the tank doesn't look appropriate for that right now.
Maybe Cloud Mountain Minnows or some other small shoaling fish. Definitely Shrimp though 🦐 .
I love how octopus mums are so dedicated to their young that they would die for them. It makes me cry everytime but it's so sweet how devoted they are to their babies. We need to appreciate octopuses more♡
