This fukcing guy ok story time. I'm a hunter and I spot a rabbit in the field so I go up to it all sneaky but it jumps in a hole. I stick my rifle in the hole and shoot. Little do I know that the rabbit had escaped out another hole positioned right behind me. My rifle, bending like a rubber hose to pop out of the other hole, was now in the perfect position to shoot my asshole

Things I don’t get about betta keeping and betta keepers in general:

I don’t understand why everyone is so insanely invested in cycling tanks. I have never once fully cycled a tank, except for a 20 gallon two years ago. Never have I had a fish die because the tank wasn’t “cycled”. Every betta I have had lived happy, healthy, and normally even after being put into a “brand new” tank.

I don’t understand the hype about huge tanks. I think a betta tank should be at least 2.5 gallons. But saying 5g, 10g is the minimum is extreme. My first betta grew up in a 2.5. When I put him into a heated, covered, well-planted 10g he slowed down, stopped eating and became depressed. Shortly after putting him back into the 2.5 he was happy and cheerful once more.

Overly frequent water changes (more than once a week) have harmed my fish more than helped them. The more I water change a fish, the more they would develop ich, become depressed, or loose their appetite. Water changes every 2 ½ weeks suited them much better. In fact, the more nit picky I was about their tank, the more often they became sick.

I don’t agree with over medicating fish. Betta fix and salt dips have helped all of my fish at some point. The expensive medications seem to harm more than they help. At a certain point, clean water and good food does much more good than stressful medication.
