Niles' younger brother Neilos looks rather upset today. He grabbed a paper and wrote down what was wrong. Neilos didn't talk these days. Not since he lost his parents and moved in with the Andersons. 'Devon at school said I look ugly because of my scars. Am I ugly?'

Simon watched the younger boy quietly. Since coming out to his parents he’s been living in the fort in the woods but right now he was at Niles’ house. He’d noticed Neilos looked upset over something and now he was going to learn what it was. But he wasn’t expecting that.

“What? You’re not ugly!” He opens his arms for a hug, hoping it would be accepted. “I think you’re a handsome boy. Or pretty if you prefer. Whoever told you that is just being mean to get a reaction.”

It had been hours since the home invasion. Mayson had already been pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital. However, the doctors were still fighting to save Lana. Finally someone came out to talk to Niles and Simon. "I'll be honest with you. It's bad. I'm sorry Mr Anderson... Lana might not survive the night. We've done what we can but she's still very weak... Would you like to see her?"

Simon was holding a crying Hannah on his hip and baby Hope in a carrier in his other hand. He nearly felt numb. Mayson, his precious son, was dead. Such a young life snuffed out and his eldest daughter was soon to follow.

The blonde looks to his husband with the heartbreak plain in his expression. “I have to be with her. I don’t want her to be alone when-“ His voice breaks as the tears flow freely again and Hannah hugs him around his neck. She keeps asking where Mayson is and if Lana’s okay and it just makes it harder.

Lana was sitting in a chair in one of the precinct's conference rooms. Gavin figured it was good to keep the lost girl away from the main bullpen while they waited for her father. Thankfully she knew her daddy's phone number. Gavin's jacket was dropped on her shoulders and a snack sat in front of her. Anyone who didn't know Gavin would never know how much of an asshole he could be just by looking at how he acted around the child. He was soft for kids. Androids? That was another story. A drastically different story. So when the blonde entered the scene Gavin nearly bit his tongue with how fast he jumped to an insult "Oh great someone let another tincan in here. The fuck do you want?"

Simon had been quietly going insane trying to find Lana. He didn’t understand how she’d gotten lost but the call from the police telling him his daughter was there had his racing thirium pump calming greatly. He had to thank whatever higher power existed that his little girl remembered to find the police if she’s ever lost.

Once he reached the precinct he told the receptionist why he was there and was directed to where his child was sitting with one of the precinct’s detectives. The blonde was taken aback by how the man was speaking to him for a moment and then he was angry.

“I’m here for my daughter. I was called and told she was found and brought here.” His eyes landed on Lana and Simon’s stress melted away instantly. “Lana, baby, are you okay? No one hurt you, did they?”

A cry of pain comes from the bathroom. Mayson. Inside the younger android was removing his LED. What should have been easy and painless became a bleeding mess when he miss and dug into his frame instead. The scissors fell to the floor with a 'tink'

Simon heard the pained sound and immediately rushed to the bathroom. When he opened the door, the sight nearly left him speechless.

“Mayson?! Baby, what on earth are you doing to yourself?” He held a towel to the wound on Mayson’s head and looked his little boy up and down. “Sweetheart, what happened?”

The kids are on the phone with their friends. Josh and Simon. Niles speaks up first. "We're all three gonna buzz cut and bleach our hair." Niles says. Carter pops in "Well... You shouldn't say all three. Connor is the guinea pig. If I don't like it on him I'm not doing it."

Simon frowned on his end of the line. “But.. you look nice the way you are.” He wasn’t against trying new things but.. the three boys were cute with their brown hair. Not that they can’t be cute blonde! He just really likes how they all look. Especially Niles.

A phone call from his husband. "Si... I'll be home late tonight. I found a damaged YK at work today. She's currently at the technical center but poor thing doesn't have anyone. I don't want to leave her."

He knew all about finding broken and damaged YKs. There had been so many at Jericho over the two years before Markus came. The last two he’d cared for hadn’t made it out when the FBI showed up.

“Poor little dear.” Simon sighed. Both of them knew he’d agree to taking her in in a heartbeat. “Should I set up a cot? I think I have a few plushies and things for her to hug, too.”

Niles is sobbing on the floor an old bloodied children's shirt clutched in his hand. It was the night shirt Lana had been wearing the night their home was attacked. The shirt somehow ended up scrunched and forgotten about under the bed. The pain of losing their eldest daughter suddenly came rushing back to him. That night was still too raw.

Simon was trying to be strong. They had a baby to take care of so he couldn’t lose himself to grief the way he had that night. He couldn’t hold his children’s favorite toys and sob for days like he wants. He has to be a dad and a husband and it’s harder than ever to be either.

He hears the sobbing from where he is in the livingroom and puts the baby’s toys down on the couch to go check on Niles. “Ni? Baby, are you okay?” He kneels beside his husband and tears fill his eyes the moment he sees the cloth in his hands. Lana’s night shirt. The blonde wraps his arms around Niles and holds on tight. “I miss them, too.”
