Making fan comics about Jon and Martin helped me work up the courage to finally take the plunge into writing my own original webcomic. well and truly enamored w the fact that martin seems to define the term ‘monster’ not along the lines of avatar vs. human, but along lines of cruelty vs. kindness. 

jon might have given himself to the eye, but martin has never seen him as a monster like elias or peter or jude or any of the others, because rather than gleefully and freely hurting people for his own gain, jon works so hard to not cause anyone any pain. as soon as it’s pointed out something he’s doing because of the eye is causing harm, he stops, even at great personal detriment. he tries so hard not to spread any more hurt

in martin’s eyes the only thing that truly dehumanizes someone is not their proximity to the fears, but their capacity for cruelty and i think that’s really special

Thinking about how scared I was Jon would die after having lost himself to the Eye or lost all memories of who he was or something along those lines but when it came down to it, despite being a literal Eyeball god, his death was so deeply human. Making spur-of-the-moment decisions, trying to save the world, saying “I love you” as his last words. The world tried its best to take Jon’s humanity away and yet right up to the end he still managed to stay Jon and that is so important to me

Literally I love how Elias was back on his slimy boss bullshit like “Oh, Jon, stop being so dramatic you know you won’t go through with it” but Jon just pulled out the knife like “bet”

it’s been almost two days but I am still blown away by the fact that jon and martin’s story ended in the most dramatic, romantic, tragic way possible. that shit was so fuckin choice. grim souffle my ass, that scene had chocolate torte vibes. imagine the devotion required to kill the one you love because he asked you to, because he needed you to. imagine trusting him, trusting the universe, so much that you follow him into an uncertain future, because to be apart would be worse than any fate you could share. imagine pressing your lips to his skin and then pressing a knife into his heart. the absolute capital-R Romance of it all. pure decadence. this is the best goddamn podcast i’ve ever listened to

Thinking about Jon sneaking away while the others are asleep to go to Jonah and end it all...taking one last look at Martin fast asleep and kissing his forehead before getting up and walking away...thinking that’s the last time he’s ever going to see the man he loves...just thinking about it

I want to know who had to convince the other to put the kiss in.
