“makes no difference to me. i just get to look pretty on the side,” dajeong said with a little shrug. “unless you want to trade! i can be lifted, and you can do one of my parts,” she giggled. she liked being the center of attention. and also just the center. what was better than being the center and being lifted?

“i was tired so i went to sleep early! i thought i was gonna wake up early too, but i slept through my alarm,” dajeong whined. “i’ll pack everything tonight. or at least the essentials. if i need to borrow clothes, i’m sure people won’t mind......”

“please tell me you’re joking– you’re not packed yet?” wes asked, a bit of panic in his voice. “the plane is early tomorrow. we have to leave the dorm by 5am to make it on time. you don’t have time to pack before we leave,” he insisted @rvmissy​ @rvdahlia​ @rvbiyi​ @rvmelody​ @rvdestiny​ @rvjiwoo​ @rvyujeong​ @rvhinata​ @rvzria​

“well, i guess its better to be early rather than late, yeah?” junxi pointed out with a sheepish shrug, sliding out of their coat and outdoor boots and putting them neatly to the side, all while taking out their sneakers and beginning to do them up. “maybe it’s just us…. that might be better, you know. i don’t think two new age groups could fit in this studio, let alone all of them.”

“i think so! you can always take a nap and fill the time, but imagine missing half the choreography-- that would be a nightmare,” dajeong laughed. she shrugged. “no one tells me anything. not even my own group members. i think some of them are coming, but i really have no idea at all..”

“whatever your sister told you, clearly it wasn’t the truth,” sumi said, trying not to be too offended. it was the rumor mill. this was how it worked. “really. if it were about money, i wouldn’t be here. i make way less with byulbit than with daizee.”

“whatever. infamy doesn’t pay off. i hope you didn’t flush your career down the toilet with this bad move,” dajeong warned.

“dna doesn’t care about pink eye. you’re germy. scram and get your own– you’re an idol in a big group. you can spare the 30$,” yujeong retorted.

“i don’t even have pink eye, though! my eyes are brown,” she whined. she sighed. “what if i take a bit on a q-tip and try? i just want to see if it’s my color...”

“i’m not your personal servant,” minjeong answered, trying to hide how offended she was. “if you want to use my rewards card, just ask– i’ll give you the number. but i have stuff i need to get done today..”

“no, but you have connections and a rewards card! and you’re not promoting like i am, so you have more time than me,” dajeong said with a little whine. “please? i don’t think i’ll be able to get through my schedules today without caffeine....”

dajeong got dropped off way too early for this stage, but she supposed it made sense. most of the girls were walking over from the dorm, and the rest had schedules elsewhere. still, she had no idea what she was doing, and being alone made her feel kind of out of place and awkward. she almost breathed a sign of relief when another person came in. “i have no idea-- but if you are, so am i,” she answered. “i just got dropped off by my manager and told to come here... i’m clueless.”

when junxi was told that new age was planning a company-wide collaboration stage for a special edition of music bank, they weren’t sure what to expect. that stage needed to be huge– the smallest group in the company was twelve members. the smallest. but when they opened the door to the practice room, and all they saw was dajeong? they were shocked. junxi awkwardly stepped through the door, adjusting their windbreaker. “hey, uh… am i early?” @rvdahlia​

“you’re naive. it’s cool until you get brain damage from lack of sleep during your formative years. or until you get preyed upon as a kid by sleazy executives,” seola said bluntly. 

“none of that has really happened to me, though. wes takes good care of terra,” dajeong said with a pout. “and i get tired but....it’s worth it. i’m young. it’s not that bad. and i’m an adult.”

“are you sure you don’t have time to get me an iced coffee?” dajeong begged sweetly to her twin. “it’s your job-- you’re really good at it! plus you have that rewards card and can get a discount!” @rvchase​

“yujeong-ie, you’re really not being fair,” dahlia whined, hands on her hips. “we have the same dna! germs on makeup isn’t that big of a deal! i want to try that eyeshadow so i can know if it’s worth getting for myself!” @rvvia​

“i don’t know... my sister’s told me about what you did,” dajeong said, frowning. “and it’s really not cool. i love my group-- i could never imagine betraying them for money.”

her heart fell– she knew that look. this person didn’t know her, but they saw all the headlines. they’d never seen her as an idol, but they saw dispatch labelling her a traitor. all the thai fans calling her a deserter for leaving her group behind for byulbit. “hey, wait, can i explain?” she asked softly. “it’s really not what you think.” 

“i can help you!” dajeong said excitedly. “i’ve always wanted to try acting! i wonder if i ask new age, if they’d consider letting me try out for a drama someday.... i bet i’d be a great actor...”

“if you’re too busy, it’s okay… i won’t be upset,” goeun insisted softly, hugging her script to her chest. “i just need to have this script memorized for my eval tomorrow and thought it would be easier if someone ran lines with me but… i can ask my sister. maybe she’s free…”

“i like the music show circuit! the lights and sets are so cool.. and the fanchants make me feel famous,” dajeong replied dreamily. “our songs aren’t about that, though, so i guess i can see the difference.”

“i don’t know what dispatch fuckin expected,” seola snorted. “my last song before this release was about sex. like, explicitly. you really think that if i want to make that kind of music i can go on the music show circuit? not a fuckin chance.”
