"Nothing I can't handle at least, how about you? That was either quite the fall or quite the impact." Astarion replied with a touch of genuine concern since it wouldn't do to have her be too injured to be of use to him. Especially since he knew little to nothing about surviving out in the wild like this.
He was about to comment about being from Baldur's Gate when their tadpoles seemed to notice each other. As much pain as he was in, he was rather surprised when she fell down like that. Part of him wondered if he had simply become so desensitized to pain that he didn't feel it anymore if Cazador wasn't the one causing it. Astarion wasn't sure how to feel about that thought.
When Karlach snapped with such rage Astarion couldn't completely suppress his flinch nor resist taking a slight step backwards. He had already been wary of making her angry and now that he saw how easy it was to potentially do so he was even more cautious. He was also wondering if he might be safer either looking for other allies or on his own.
"Those things did put something in my head, yes." Astarion answered carefully while watching her, not sure if her aggression had passed yet or not. "That was the first time I have experienced such a thing." He paused for a moment before deciding to question further. "In your meeting with this other individual, did you happen to learn anything else about these things in our heads?"
Tumblr media
Karlach chuckled as she waved her hand up and down. "well, at least your standing okay, not dizzy or anything, Soldier?" Karlach questioned as she kept space but had a friendly disposition. Astarion, huh, a unique name, sounded kind of royal if she thought about it. "Karlach," Her eyes widened a little in surprise at the bow and charming behavior, and stood there unable to figure out how to response. "You must be from a city or something, never had someone bow to me," But before she could speak more suddenly her brain swarmed.
Her hand reached up and grabbed the side of her head and the other dropped down to her knees and her hand caught herself from hitting the ground fully. Memories flashed, tons of information in less than seconds. She shook her head, and let out a dragon-like roar of aggravation, trying to shove the pain away. Her brain pulsed, as the parasite inside twisted and reacted to the connection. It felt pleased, like minds, as she panted heavily as memories were exchanged.
"How the hell am I supposed to know!" Karlach snapped back in turn as if she had an answer for it. "Somehow, our minds are linked. Got a little squirmy passenger too?" Karlach panted as she shook her head, as the pounding started to fade and her companion calmed in her head. Slowly she pushed herself back up to her feet, standing up fully as she huffed. "It happened briefly, once, while I was on the Nataloid with someone else. It's like the tadpoles make some kind of, mind meld with others who have it too. It's weird,"

Sevika watched him move around the room with a stoic expression. So far it was sounding like she still had a job with him. Good, it would be easier to save up for a prosthetic that way. It also meant that she would be able to build her reputation and possibly land a better offer even without an arm. Granted, if Silco actually did succeed with what she knew of his plans then there weren't likely to be any better offers. Unless he turned soft and a stronger leader was needed. They'd have to be good though.
Speaking of those plans, he seemed to be talking about them again. Sevika listened without changing expression, resisting the slight urge to roll her eyes at his phrasing. She was glad that he wasn't interested in pretending that she had protected him because he cared. That said, she didn't have nearly as much belief as he seemed to think. Sure, an independent Zaun sounded good in theory, but so did a lot of things. She wasn't interested in theory or blind belief. Silco did good work and had showed her respect so far. Because of that, she would work for him. She would protect him if given that job again.
Was she loyal to him however? She mentally scoffed at that. About as much as she was to any employer although the fact that he was acknowledging her actions and the implications of them had earned her respect. True loyalty took time. That said, she wasn't going to betray him without a damn good reason so maybe that was good enough.
As for Vander, that was complicated. Sevika respected the man and what he'd achieved but he'd grown soft, unable to make the hard choices anymore. She hadn't joined Silco because he stood in opposition to Vander but because Silco had offered work that let her actually get something done rather sitting around.
Given the directions of her thoughts, she was rather surprised by his offer to pay for her prosthetic arm. That was far more than she ever expected him or any other employer to do for her. Granted she had saved his life but he had also likely saved hers by making sure she got medical attention. Still, she wasn't going to turn down such a generous off although she did wonder what he would ask in return.
And there it was, wrapped up as a job offer. A deal with a devil that was too good to refuse. Sevika wished she had a smoke and instead leaned back with a sigh.
"You talk a pretty game boss. I'll give you that. I'd be an idiot to refuse what you're offering. I'll warn you though. I don't have much experience at leading. Hasn't been much call for it until now. But I've lead smaller teams, protection details mostly. I know how to run a tight ship and deal with those who don't like it." She stated seriously while looking down at where her remaining arm rested across her lap. She flexed her fingers and rolled her shoulders, testing her body and what she was capable of at the moment. It would be tough but she could get the job done. "If you're still offering the job, knowing all that... Then I accept."
Tumblr media
"Good. We need you back on your feet as soon as possible."
Silco's mismatched eyes drifted over Sevika as she sat there and shrugged her arms - both of them. Even though she was currently resting in her bed, with a blanket up her legs and a bandage around the stomp of her missing arm, she exuded raw confidence, driven determination and a willingness to get things done. She was not a leader by any means, but she was damn competent and confident in her abilities. People would listen to her.
Tumblr media
His wandering made him halt before the window. Peering out into the Pilt, Silco could make out the sleek, massive bodies of Giant River Otters passing by underneath the waters. Their angular snouts opened wide, whiskers bristling, and they snapped for fish swimming by. One of the otters was missing one of its hindlegs, yet it slammed its tail sideways in the water, keeping up with the bevvy. Silco followed the mammals with his gaze for a few seconds.
"You did a very brave thing back there", Silco said, "There are few more ultimate proofs of true loyalty than risking your life for someone, you just met." He peered down at Sevika, briefly smiling. "I am not going to pretend you saved me because you somehow care for me as a person. I already have a wretched reputation. You didn't save me because I am the familicide killer. You saved me because you believe in the independence of the Nation of Zaun as much as I do. You are willing to risk everything for it. That's why you left Vander."
His hand placed itself on the railing of her bed. Nodding towards her stomp, Silco said: "Even paying for your prosthetic arm can hardly begin to encompass how much I owe you for the sacrifice, you made for me. Know that you have my gratitude for it, until the day I die. However, we also should not kid ourselves. The current hold, we have on The Last Drop is fragile. Very fragile. Vander still has some folk loyal to him and they will fight for this place. Furthermore, my gang is missing a pivotal element for me to be properly taken seriously and accepted as the new leader of the Lanes. Without it, my own men might turn on me at any given moment. Without it, I will always be second best in the eyes of the other Chem-Barons."
Tumblr media
"My gang needs a deputy", Silco spoke, "I need someone, who is willing to share the burdens with me, sweat and bleed for the Cause. You have shown dedication in ways, that most of that ragtag bunch wouldn't even be able to understand. You seem to be a strong and scary lady, someone who not only can take a lot but whom others could follow. I want to reward you for your sacrifice, Sevika. It just so happens that my reward might also solve a problem for me. In a way, we would both win. I need a deputy and I would very much like to announce you as that role, if you permit me."

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Sky guessed that he was getting dressed by the way he was moving while thinking on her words. She didn't press the matter, she had made her case. Now she just had to wait while he considered it and voiced his thoughts on the matter. She thought she had offered a logical argument for why should go with him rather than be left somewhere.
She could sense his discomfort about wearing his brace and frowned to herself. She wondered if she could refine her energy enough to be able to take the place of his brace and if he might prefer that if she was able to do it. She added the thought to her list of things to work on later.
"The Hexcore itself will still have to hide in your bag and I learned with the shower that my energy has to flow around solid objects rather than through them." Sky explained thoughtfully as she considered the knowledge that her energy was visible. Perhaps if she thinned the flow of energy to a thin enough thread then it wouldn't be noticed running from his bag to his shirt sleeve.
At his suggestion she began to carefully wrap her energy around him, aiming for a thin layer that would fit between his clothing and skin. This was another new skill but her previous experiments had refined her control enough that she managed it. However when she tried to support him with the layer she found it wasn't dense enough. So she increased the density while checking in.
"Does the glow brighten or get stronger the denser the energy is? I've manage to get the layer thin enough to fit but I'm worried that the density needed to support you will make the glow visible." She asked, thoughtful and a touch worried. A justified worry since there was a connection between the density of her energy and how brightly it glowed. However even at the density that would allow her to support him the glow could still be hidden due to the number of layers he wore, they would just have to be careful.
Tumblr media
It was just like her, to create something out of a failed project. He did the same thing, too. Unlike Jayce, who tossed out what he found to be broken or failed, Viktor's Zaunite origins had culturally instilled in him the urge to never let anything go to waste, whether it be food, water, medicine, or scrapped inventions. His own apartment was littered with half-finished projects and tools -- 'failures' he'd brought to home from the lab, waiting to be repuposed.
Her words sank into him, filling him with the ideas of some guard Enforcer, or Jayce finding the Hexcore before he could explain the evolution. She was right, again. Even here, she wouldn't be safe. Someone would come looking for the Hextech assistant eventually. Jayce would understand, wouldn't he? He lifted his head, raking his fingers through his hair to get it out of his now resolute face.
Viktor dried himself off, leaving his damp hair to air dry as he started to put his brace back on. It had several buckles to secure, as well as the safety release latch on the lower right side. Once it was on, he felt its restriction to his movement again, like he was being held in one piece by it. With a sigh, he bent down to grab his underwear and pants, just as she mentioned that she couldn't see herself. He sat up straight as he pulled the underwear and pants up together.
"Well, you glow. It's actually rather beautiful. But..." he looked himself over, noticing her wisps of light lingering around him and close to his skin. "But we could hide you against me. Under my clothes." He was certain he wore enough layers to cover the light, and if she stayed close enough to him, she could brace him, too. He certainly didn't mind the sensation of her holding him like a blanket. Perhaps it would even help him through the meeting, itself, to have such a comfort. "Here, try hiding under my shirt," he suggested while tugging his shirt back on, one sleeve at a time.

Sorrow and Solace || Closed
At first Halsin had been sure that Jaheira must be mistaken when she spoke of Isobel protecting the Last Light Inn with Selune's blessing. Isobel had died long ago, long even before the Shadow Curse had taken hold of these lands. In fact it could be said that her death was what started her father on his dark path.
Even more than a century since that day, Halsin could still picture it so very clearly. The folly of his youth as he strove to master his Wild Shape. His lack of attention to nature's warning signs that it was not the time. His devastation when it cost him one of his dearest friends.
Thus, it was with a heavy heart and heavier step that he climbed the steps on the Inn. He knew not if he would find an imposter or perhaps some specter in the form of his lost friend but he needed to face this as he hadn't been able to in the past.
Yet even as resolved as he was to right or at least face all the mistakes of the past that this land bore witness to, he was not prepared for the sight before his eyes when he finally beheld the one called Isobel.
Halsin stood stunned on the threshold of the balcony, watching as the friend he thought slain by his own paw enacted a Selunite ritual to call down the Moonmaiden's blessing to strengthen or perhaps maintain the barrier that kept the worst of the curse at bay from this place of shelter.
"Isobel..." The name fell from his lips, barely a whisper of sound, one so soft that he did not even fully realize he had spoken it at all. He felt at once a youth again and as if he had aged centuries further in that moment as he waited for a reaction from she who had once been one of his dearest friends.

Halsin Headcanon
Warning! Contains spoilers for Baldur's Gate 3
In the Early Release version of the game there exists the idea that Halsin was responsible for Isobel's death in an act of self defense and that the glaive 'Sorrow' which is received as a reward for saving the Grove in Act 1 was the weapon he used for it.
After talking with @faerunscursed about their Isobel, I have decided to do my own interpretation of this aborted lore.
As far as Halsin knows he killed Isobel while he was a young druid, still mastering his Cave Bear Wild Shape. It was while he was spending time in his bear form that he encountered a female bear during mating season. Upon refusing her affections he was clawed across the face before managing to get away. Isobel found him in this state and with his instincts still so close to the surface he lashed out and killed her before he was able to regain control.
The truth is far different. Halsin did in fact have a run in with a female bear that resulted in the scars upon his face, but he never harmed Isobel. His memories were altered to make him believe he had in order to hide the crimes of the true murderer.
Who this murderer is while be plot dependent but will default to either Isobel's uncle, Malus with her being the victim of his experiments. Or to an unnamed Sharran assassin who's goal was to cause strife between the Druids of the area and the Throm family.

◈ NAME ⋯ Rune
◈ PRONOUNS ⋯ she/her
◈ MOST ACTIVE MUSE(S)? ⋯ Stolas, Astarion, Sky
◈ RP PET PEEVES? ⋯ Assumptions being made about my muses and then the other person becoming angry when I offer a correction. Replies that are more poetry than normal writing, making it hard to understand what is actually being said.
◈ EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS ⋯ I've been rping on Tumblr for a bit over 10 years now.
◈ FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT ⋯ All of it, usually all at once with one leading to another and another.
◈ PLOTS OR MEMES ⋯ Both are good. Memes are good to get muses acquainted or when not in the mood for plotting. Plotting is wonderful for longer threads and are good for both established muses and for first meet ups between muses.
◈ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES ⋯ Both honestly. It depends on my rp partner. If I'm working with someone who prefers longer replies then I will adjust mine to match or at least close enough to be respectful. If they prefer shorter replies then I will match that. In generally however I tend to give longer replies to plotted threads and shorter replies to memes.
◈ TIME TO WRITE ⋯ I mostly write around my work schedule and based on whether or not I owe any replies. I tend to reply significantly faster than most of my rp partners so often I will have time and inclination to write but nothing really to work on.
◈ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) ⋯ Yes and no. I have put the most of myself into Sky since she doesn't have much canon development at present and is unlikely to in the future. I almost instantly connected with Stolas since he is such a nerd but is also both smooth and awkward in equal measure. I am the least like Astarion, although he will likely pick up some of my traits as I rp him more.

Astarion had to resist giving the Tiefling an annoyed look. He wasn't being that loud, he knew how to pitch his voice to only carry as far as he wanted to. But, he had to remember his plan. Well as much of one as he had. Which boiled down to getting the Tiefling on his side as a protector.
"Ah, apologies. I'm fairly sure I took at least one blow to the head during all that." He replied as if embarrassed and reached up to rub at his head, which did hurt a bit now that he was thinking of it. He put the discomfort from just mind, just as he had so often in the past.
"My name's Astarion, and you are?" He asked with a bit of a bow and a smiled that had charmed more than a few people into following him to their doom. While his goal was different he was hopeful that it would have the same effect on her.
He was just about to say more when he felt a piercing pain in his head. He cried out as images flashed through his mind. What he thought was Avernus, some sort of vast battle, and the Tiefling before him in the very center of it. The vision and pain passed as quickly as it had come, leaving him gripping his head and shaking a bit.
"What in the hells was that!" He cried, just barely keeping his voice down. He looked to the woman to see if she had experienced the same thing while trying to make sense of it. The tadpoles perhaps? It would make sense if she had one too. Gods damn it all! What the fuck was going on?
Tumblr media
Karlach grumbled, her head splitting like an axe had rammed through it. She remembered falling, but then she hit something, flying debris or something along those lines, and then nothing. She remembered a voice though, gentle, protective, encouraging. Whatever it was, she couldn't quite figure out what it was nor an explanation for it either. Her fingers scratched at the top of her head, ensuring she wasn't injured (and hoping to elevate some of the pain) as she started to scan her surroundings. First thing first was to make sure there wasn't an illithid anywhere near her, those damn creepy crawlies could stay far away as far as she was concerned.
Her excitement though was hard to contain. There was fresh air, the smell of the salty water, the warm sand underneath her feet. "I'm home," Karlach whispered, as she nearly grew giddy over the fact that she was back in the material plane. She dropped down to her knees, pushing her fingers into the sand as she just allowed herself to feel the sense of relief that she finally, FINALLY, escaped Avernus. "Guess those damn creepy crawlies were good for one thing. Gods, it's so good to be back," But then her engine rumbled, as she was reminded of her curse. She could feel the heat licking against her skin, the fire softly blazing through her red and black hair. In her distraction though she suddenly caught the scent of something else. She sniffed the air, as she then heard someone crying out.
Either the person was stupid or coy; why call out for help when they were right next to their prisoner ship? Karlach glanced around, finding her great axe as she put it on her back in case of danger, and stood back up to her full height. The wildheart barbarian shifted around the trees, careful with her steps as she made out the white-haired elf. "Hey soldier, you might not want to be shouting at the top of your lungs. For all we know, we aren't the only survivors, those squidies could easily survive too," Karlach mentioned as she lifted her finger to her lips in a soft hush, hoping he took the hint to bring his voice down.
"What's your name?" She asked, unable to come close to touch his shoulder to comfort or ease. But at least it was nice to talk to someone who wasn't a demon, imp, or devil.

Sky had never seen any equipment that could actually perform a proper blood test although she knew such tests existed from her reading and what she had learned helping out at the clinic. She knew she would never be able to afford one however. But, if she could become a student at the academy... Well, she could always find a way to use the equipment she needed after hours. Although there would be a whole host of new issues since she would rather to find a way to return to Zaun periodically for more of the flowers.
For find a supply of blood. No. She couldn't think like that, not when she didn't actually know what effect the blood had. She couldn't even be certain it was the blood she had reacted to at all rather than something in the fog. She would deal with maintaining her supply in Piltover if she actually got that far.
For now she focused her thoughts back on making sure the jar was out of sight, she didn't want anyone else to end up going through what she was. Even if there were benefits, there were too many unknowns. And those benefits might come at an even greater cost that she was yet ignorant of.
She smiled and blushed a bit when he held out his arm but took it anyway. She thought it was a rather sweet gesture and a smart way to subtly ask for support. Support she would willingly give as she walked with him back the way they had come.
"I'm sure it is. I'm honestly not too worried. I know it can be dangerous for a woman alone but I'm not exactly defenseless." She replied shyly but with a hint of something darker in her eyes. She actually had little pouches of a sleeping mixture and a few poisons hidden in her clothing that she could throw at would be attackers as well as a knife hidden in her bag. She preferred not to use the knife but she would if she had to.
Tumblr media
Blood tests weren't very common in the Undercity at all. He'd only ever really seen the facilities and equipment required for such science in the lab of the doctor. There was no going back to that place. He worried what tests poor Sky would be subjected to, should that man get his wiry hands on her and her unique situation. That left Piltover as the only option, and at such expense, is was an option neither of them could afford. He frowned at the thought, but kept quiet on the topic. Perhaps, if he was able to get into the Academy, he would be able to help her.
Viktor noticed her tuck the jar away, wondering if she was protecting her stash, or if she was protecting others from the temptation she had fallen to, herself.
Her logic was sound, keeping herself to such a low dose. Not only would it allow her to stretch out her supply for as long as possible, but it would keep her reliance on the substance to a minimum. He smiled softly toward the bag, nodding. "Very smart."
The fact that she saw through his request to the intention of spending time together behind it brought a hint of blush to his cheeks. He glanced to the side and smiled a little wider. "Let's go, then. My home is close enough to yours, I'm sure." He left his mask off, beginning to walk back the way the came. He would slow to make sure she was beside him, even going as far as to extend out an arm for her to hold onto. It was just as much for his support as hers, admittedly, but he hoped it was gentlemanly to do, regardless.

"That would make logical sense although given what I saw outside this place I doubt it remained completely free of pollution. However I do agree that the location has kept the worst away and allowed the tree to adapt. I will be sure to let you know the results once I have examined the samples I plan to take." Stolas replied thoughtfully while bringing one hand up to his break as he concentrated.
Tumblr media
A moment later his hand lowered to pull his phone from his pocket before freezing midmotion, just then realizing that he hadn't seen anyone else with a phone since he had arrived.
"Well.... not exactly. It's.... well... We have a special device where I'm from that is a much smaller camera that can display the images of the pictures taken." He explained haltingly as he navigated to his photo gallery and just that before showing a picture of his daughter.
"This is my owlet Octavia, my dearest Starfire. She will 18 soon, the time has passed so quickly. Some days it feels like she hatched just yesterday." He explained with a soft smile that made him look less like a bird of prey and more like an ordinary parent who truly loved their child. "I would love to meet your daughter if you are comfortable with it."
Tumblr media
"From what you've told me of this Shimmer, it does seem like it is the purple liquid from my vision or at least connected to it. As for this Silco person, if he is as connected to Shimmer as you claim then it is likely he's related in some way." Stolas replied calmly before taking a deep breath. "If there's a place I can see the stars then I can try for another vision tonight to see if I can get more details. I can't make any promises but I can try."
Tumblr media
"My guess is that is that this area has been so blocked off from the rest of Zaun, even before we found it. Away from all of that is poisoning everything else out there. Like it exists between Piltover and Zaun." Ekko had a love for their home, for its beauty. More than that, he wanted to protect it from the pollution all around it. "And don't worry, Scar is just protective. We've put a lot of heart into this place to make it home. To get as far away from out there as we could."
Despite his young age, Ekko had taken to be being a father quickly. In fact he openly welcomed the feeling of it now. Becoming a father had been the second best thing in his life, outside of meeting scar, and he wouldn't take it back. Though, this was the first time he'd interacted with a fellow father.
"I don't know what you mean by showing pictures, unless you're talking about a camera?" Aside from the camera he knew Caitlyn carried, there was no other way to do that and from what he could tell, cameras were bulky. Ekko saw no signs of a bulk on the bird. "But of course, I can find her. In fact, trinket loves new people, so she would love to meet you."
Tumblr media
Any brightness on Ekko's features disappeared as he found himself reminded of his struggles thanks to this prophecy. "Both Scar and I struggled with shimmer, for different reasons, and we both were in it deep for a long time. I met him while we were both trying to break away from it, maybe that's what it meant." Ekko glanced down at his hands, were a few of his blackened veins stood out. "I was a kid then, only fifteen and even younger when I started shimmer. I had lost everything then."
Ekko cleared his throat at that, not sure if he wanted to revisit his own past. "Even now it's hard for all of us. Soon shimmer will take over everything, if Silco gets his way. Not to mention he intends to go to war with Piltover with his monsters.. Then it will no longer be safe for us, for our young..."

Cold Hands Warm Heart || closed
Astarion regretted ever letting himself be talked into this. He could have been nice and comfortable in camp at this very moment if it weren't for a certain Tiefling and her thrice damned strength dragging him from said camp to go on an 'adventure' while the rest of their merry band was investigating the Gith Creche.
He had been quite happily reading when Karlach had come over and somehow convinced him it was a good idea to go exploring. He thought there might have been an offer to help him catch another bear somewhere in that conversation but at the moment he didn't care what had been offered.
And why was that? Because presently they were stuck in a cave. In the mountains. With a BLIZZARD going on just outside the entrance. A storm they would still be out in if he hadn't managed to spy this cave which thankfully was deep enough and had enough of a curve to it to offer them actual shelter from the storm.
That did not, however, change the fact that he was bloody freezing his ears and was afraid his teeth would shatter from how tightly he had them clenched to prevent them chattering. It also didn't help that he was soaked from the snow and didn't have enough blood to properly regulate his internal temperature. It wasn't likely to kill him fortunately or perhaps unfortunately but he was going to be miserable for the foreseeable future.
Such misery reminded him all too keenly of his past which made him quite when he normally would have been complaining quite vocally. He could barely even look at his companion as he settled himself on the ground in as tight of a ball as he could manage to try to conserve whatever warmth might remain in his deathly cold body.

How to Bed Your Dragon || Closed
Astarion woke in a daze but then he supposed it was to be expected after getting hit in the head and falling from a crashing Mindflayer vessel. That shouldn't have been an excuse for how long it took him to realize that he was laid out on a beach. In. Full. Sunlight.... and wasn't turning to ash... Nor, was he even in any pain come to think of it and he really should have been come to think of it given the crash. Not that he was complaining but it was... unsettling.
He was used to a certain amount of predictability in his life. He knew the rules and expectations as well as the consequences should he break a rule or fail to meet an expectation. This... newness and lack of all that was unsettling. He wasn't sure if he liked that feeling for all he was glad to be away from Baldur's Gate.
But enough of such thoughts. There was no telling how long this boon of standing in the sun would last. Which come to think of it, what was protecting him from the sun? As far as he knew the only thing that had changed was the worm in his skull. Could that be it? It was the only thing he could think of. Best not to dwell on it.
First he needed to see if he could find anything or anyone that could be of use to him. It was as he was looking around that he spotted the dragon. A dragon. Laying on the beach. The gods must truly hate him. Finally able to walk in the sun and now he was going to be eaten by a bloody dragon.

Sevika didn't know all the details for why Silco and Vander parted ways but she didn't believe all the propaganda that had been spreading around ever since the battle on the bridge. She hadn't been able to participate in the battle but she had seen the aftermath and been part of the clean up.
She did know that things had drastically after the battle. Somethings improved and some things had gotten worse. Not a net positive in her opinion but it could have been worse. Things could have been handled better but they also could have been handled worse. She didn't expect perfection from a leader, she was too jaded for that. She did respect a leader that made the best of a shitty situation however and that was what Vander had done after the bridge.
Now they were in another shitty situation however and he wasn't handling it well. She wasn't fully sure what the right way to handle it was but she knew something needed to happen that was different from Vander's pacificism.
"Peace is always temporary. Someone always gets greedy, or has enough of being treated like crap, or loses someone that pushes them over the edge." Sevika replied with a sigh while crossing her arms over her chest. "As for Enforcers, who's to say? We don't need them but if we can use them then we should."
"And what truth would that be?" Sevika asked with a hard look. She wasn't terribly impressed by his speech so far but she was still listening so that was something at least. "What makes your truth better than Vander's? You're not the first to talk about change. Why should I believe you can actually make it happen?"

Everyone in the Undercity knew who Silco was by now, even they didn’t know him by name. Thanks to the peacekeeper most of his reputation was that of a a monster underneath children’s bed. Vander had even gone as far as to blame him for starting the battle on bridge, completely denying the role he himself played. For the most part Silco didn’t mind this new reputation, in fact he openly embraced being the monster. If being a monster meant that he could what Vander couldn’t and truly do what’s best for the underground, than so be it.
Before that day at the Pilt, Silco had not quite been the cold-hearted, cruel man he was now. Before he hadn’t been alone, he had Vander and together they had strived to for the undercity’s independence together, for the nation of zaun. They had each other, then, but both willing to do what most would not, including murder. Silco lost count of how many times Vander had sent enforcers home in bodybags or boxes. Vander wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and fight for the cause, for him. Back then they would have done anything for each other.
It was that reason that Silco had went on the bridge in the first place, the peacekeeper having convinced him it was the only way. Create enough noise, cause enough violence and they would get their attention. Catch their attention, make a scene, and it would earn an audience with the council. Only their actions had only proven to make things worse, leaving those they cared about dead. For Silco it had been a heavy loss, and it was then that he knew that it wouldn’t be enough. Vander had the right idea, but had gone about it the wrong way. Unfortunately the battle had the opposite effect on Vander, whose guilt was eating him up. It was these changes that lead to Silco’s near death in the Pilt.
While Vander had been too busy fostering children and making deals with the sheriff, Silco had been preparing the means in which they would truly achieve their goal. To prepare for the crumble of the peace that was only temporary. Only through base violence, through action would the Underground earn their freedom. Slowly but surely he was opening the minds of others to see it that way. Something in which he was hoping to do with Sevika now.

A fierce, striking orange eye flickered Sevika's direction. The woman was smart, he had known that much, but to catch onto his motives? Well he was even more convinced he wanted her in his employ. "Perhaps enforcers have had their uses in the past but how long do you think this will last?" Silco nodded in acknowledgement before letting out a sigh. "Whose to say the next sheriff won't cause problem for us like the one before this one? Peace is only temporary."
"You're an intelligent woman, you see things differently than Vander does. You see the truth." Silco put his hands behind it back, both eyes on her now. "This peace is nice, but what do we gain from it? We're still suffering, aren't we? They will never give us the freedom we deserve, so intend to take it by whatever means necessary. I have the means to do so."
