Little detail in NPMD that’s living rent free in my mind (spoilers ahead!)
I know the fandom has been obsessing over figuring out the lyrics to everyone’s favorite chaotic™️ scene but I wanna acknowledge something in the choreography that caught my attention💃🏻
Okay so first off MASSIVE PROPS to Lauren for choreographing this so amazingly. If you pay close attention you’ll notice that each of the Lords in Black has their own cute little 8 count dance related to their character (some more clear than others).

switching back and forth between his hand and the mask (I’m assuming representing him wanting to block out every voice that’s not his own).

… okay honestly this one tripped me up but it fits the vibe
Okay so this alone was a cool discovery, but THEN I noticed that the Lords in Black cycled through each other’s choreography throughout the scene. After a million watches that I absolutely don’t regret I’m pretty sure I figured out the pattern to be: Wiggly➡️Tinky➡️Nibbly➡️Blinky➡️Pokey🔁 in a looping order. There were a few discrepancies in this pattern (I think possibly either due to choreography mistakes or maybe it was just to make the choreography look more symmetrical?) but this was the order that most commonly persisted:
Anything in parenthesis is what I think they were supposed to do because it’s a simple switch that fits the pattern (Corey never did Tinky’s dance but did Nibbly’s for 2 cycles, Lauren had Nibbly and Tinky’s reversed).
Anyway this may already be a thing because I definitely need to get caught up on Hatchetfield lore but I’m wondering if there’s any significance to this order?
It almost matches the order that we were introduced to the Lords in Black in (Blinky being the one out of place):
Wiggly (Black Friday)
Blinky (Watcherworld. NMT Season 1, episode 1 part 2)
Tinky (Time Bastard. NMT Season 1, episode 2 part 2)
Nibbly (Honey Queen. NMT Season 2, episode 1)
Pokey (Yellow Jacket. NMT Season 2, episode 4).
It almost matches reverse order to when we were first introduced to all of the dolls in The Witch in the Web: Pokey➡️Blinky➡️Tinky➡️Nibbly➡️Wiggly. Nibbly and Tinky are reversed, which could maybe be connected to Lauren reversing their dances in the order but I feel like that’s too far of a reach:
It also almost matches the order that the names are read from in the black book (again reverse order and Nibbly and Tinky are switched):

It makes sense that invoking the names ends with Wiggly since it’s been implied at multiple times that he is the most powerful and terrible of the Lords in Black but other than that I’m clueless.
One moment that perfectly matches the pattern in the dance if you reverse it is the one real picture we have of the dolls from Nick’s Twitter:
If you start with any of them and go backwards it matches the (most consistent) pattern from the dance perfectly: Nibbly⬅️Tinky⬅️Wiggly⬅️Pokey⬅️Blinky
There’s more stuff that shows up in the choreography throughout the dance that intrigued me but this post is already way too long and I’m guessing with my luck there’s probably 0 significance to the order that the dances were done in buuuut yeah I’m driving myself insane on this so if anyone has any insight let me know!

Pokey:
Pretentious second oldest brother who rambles about Shakespeare and renaissance art to seem ‘unique’ amongst his siblings
Tinky:
Chaotic middle child who wants to watch the world burn and will probably cause the burning
Blinky:
Second youngest brother who’s just living for the drama and watching everything go down whilst not participating
Nibbly:
Family baby (excluding Webby) who hasn’t quite figured out his powers yet, he just likes to eat - head empty… heart also empty but stomach very full

the possible future of the hatchetfield series: hatchetfield halloween party livestream full rundown
again apologies if someone has already done something like this, but I’m procrastinating doing my coursework and just want to talk about hatchetfield I want everyone to be aware of this exciting stuff that was announced in the stream so here you go:
the next starkid musical to be released will not be in the hatchetfield universe.
the guy who didn’t like musicals will soon be ready to license.
nightmare time 3 was originally planned to be released in the same year as nightmare time 2 and will wrap up the overarching nightmare time stories (which seem to be miss holloway and the foster sisters respectively).
if they did a fourth hatchetfield musical, it would be about miss holloway and her backstory. it is already written. I am very very extremely normal about this fact 😃
there is a possibility of a hatchetfield movie, and workin’ boys was sort of a test for this concept. it would be a slasher murder mystery centering around the hatchetfield community players (zoey chambers and the cast of workin’ girls, possibly also with ruth, hidgens, alice and any other theatre-oriented characters but that part’s just my speculation). the transcription of the teaser description can be found below the nmt descriptions.
ok so here are the transcriptions of the nmt3 episode descriptions:
Story #1: Bottle Imps
Bill Woodward has been chosen to test CCRP’s latest and greatest product; Bottle Imps. These reality-bending buddies will bring their owner the one thing they desire most. When his new imp, Lovely, leads him to his soulmate, Bill decides to use his magical companion to play matchmaker. But to help Charlotte find the man of her dreams, Bill will have to bend the Imp’s rules. Rules he’s been warned, must never be broken…
Story #2: Frankenruth
Desperate to see a naked body, Ruth Fleming and Richie Lipschitz volunteer at the morgue of St. Damien’s Hospital. Their terrible plan becomes exponentially more terrible, when they become unwitting subjects in the experiments of the body-snatching madman, Doctor Laszlo, who claims to have conquered death itself. If Hatchetfield thought Ruth was bad before, then they will cower before the unspeakable horror of… Frankenruth!
Story #3: Becky Barnes Climbed a Tree
Becky Barnes is on top of the world! Not in a literal sense, of course. She’s deathly afraid of heights. After years of struggle, Becky’s life is finally everything she dreamed it would be. She’s engaged to her high school sweetheart, Tom Houston, and the two have a surprise baby on the way! But, as the couple prepare for the arrival of baby Marie, a shadow from Becky’s past returns to haunt them.
Story #4: Devil’s Night
Tim Houston has a crush. Unfortunately, it’s on his older, mature and totally cool babysitter, Grace Chasity, who he fears will never see him as anything but a snot-nosed little kid. But when a devilish maniac with murderous designs on Grace attacks Hatchetfield the night before Halloween, Tim must protect his beloved, or join the killer’s growing body count. It’s another slashing adventure on the night HE came home… Devil’s Night.
Story #5: (long special episode) Miss Holloween
It’s Halloween in Hatchetfield once again, and Miss Holloway is celebrating the same way she’s done for decades, staving off the horrors that go bump in the night. But when Duke gives her an invitation to his wedding, the dejected Miss Holloway begins to chafe under the terms of a contract forged many years ago. She strikes a new bargain, but unfortunately her creditors are known for their tricks, not treats. Just as Miss Holloway gives up her powers in exchange for a mortal life, a monstrous new threat rears its ugly head. As All Hallows Eve descends, and all Hell breaks loose, Miss Holloway must save the town or die trying… for real this time.
Story #6: (long special episode / season finale) Orb Weaver
Lex Foster had a life once. A home. A boyfriend. Now there is only the road, and her sister, and the fear of the men who are hunting them. As Hannah Foster watched Lex sink deeper into despair, she is certain of only three things: Webby is gone. She cannot help them. They are alone. apologies if someone has already made this type of post, because I’ve had the tag blocked for a couple days as I’ve only just been able to watch the stream, but here is all the new hatchetfield lore we learned in the hatchetfield halloween party livestream (sorry if I forgot something):
greenpeace girl’s name is harmony jones
in 2005, wilbur cross murdered douglas keane senior (duke’s dad), who was the sheriff of hatchetfield at the time. we have no idea why or how.
pamela foster refused to go to the hospital when giving birth, and hannah almost died in childbirth. lex psychically felt her dying, and activated her powers for the first time, reaching through the black and white and teleporting her outside the womb. by saving hannah, she apparently saved the entire universe
ted has died the most times out of any hatchetfield character but we all knew that. every time the world ends, he dies twice (main ted and homeless guy).
doctor laszlo, the doctor who sewed hannah’s finger back on in yellow jacket, is a mad scientist who claims to have “conquered death” and will feature in the possible NMT3 story “Frankenruth”.
bill has a literal soulmate, though we don’t know who it is (sylvia?? his ex-wife?? TED?? no idea)
in at least one timeline, becky and tom are engaged and have a baby called marie <3
hidgens is either haunted by the ghosts of the workin boys, haunted by evil creatures pretending to be the workin boys, or insane and hallucinating ghosts of the workin boys. they seem to be led by chad, who is confirmed to NOT be pokey in the workin boys short film, chad was genuinely just a guy hidgens liked, but it is unclear whether or not the chad the ghosts talk about is the real chad or something else.
tim houston has a crush on the “mature and totally cool” grace chasity
duke is getting married to someone else and my life is over and nothing will ever be okay again 👍

I saw Nerdy Prudes Must Die live with one of my friends, without any previous knowledge of the Hatchetfield universe. I loved that it’s very comprehensible for a newbie, but what absolutely baffled me was hearing about these Lords in Black and they showed up as the most neon bitches I have ever seen in my life
