Im not sure if everyone already put 2 and 2 together, but I just realized the scene where Tommy was giving Buck a tour, and Tommy asks him if he wants to transfer from the 118, and Bucks like

"It would be different"

And tommy replies

"There's no rule that says you can't get certified and stay at the 118"

This is a metaphor for bisexuality.

I had been considering the point of this scene of tspecifally them talking like this when I realized what they were talking about. That Buck can learn to "fly a plane" or be with men while still "being a fire fighter" or being with women and that Tommy can teach him, show him how to "fly a plane". THEY EVEN REFRENCE THE OFFERED LESSONS SECONDS BEFORE THE KISS!!!

It just goes to show how amazing the writing on this show is.

Can someone tell me how to feel about 9-1-1 now. Dont get me wrong. I am SOSOSOS HAPPY that buck is officially queer, and I am suprisnly okay with it being Tommy instead of Eddy, but this is what I am conflicted about. This is a completely new territory for any show. Really, no show as popular as 9-1-1 has actually made the main character gay before, not in a way like this where it wasn't palnned from the beginning, at least as far as I'm aware. So I dont know how to proceed now that Buck is gay and going out with Tommy because I was hitched on the Buddie train for so long, as so many of us were. Because Buddie was my OTP for this show, but now some one I like has entered the picture but its still a gay man, which has never happened to me before, how am I, are any of us supposed to go on after so much build up with Buddie, sure some of us will stick wth it, but what if tommy and buck are endgame? That is an eventually none of us really saw coming, and now buddie fans are left without direction, so please tell me how tf to feel now.

Aren't 9-1-1 parallels crazy.

I'm re-re-re-watching 9-1-1 for the release of the new season (YAY!!) and I realized something. Buck, in the first episode get temporarily fired for driving the fire engine without permission. Then much later he nearly dies in an explosion while properly driving the fire engine. This one act of doing something he loves (driving the truck is representative of him being a fire fighter) has nearly taken him away from his beloved work twice. And maybe everybody already knew this, but I just found it interesting.

The thing about the ending of secret life, is that Scar was not allies with Pearl. They were friendly, but Scar was friendly with every body. So when Pearl offerned for Scar to kill her, Scar didn't. Instead he shot her from afar, in an impersonal manor, and he didn't even realize he killed her. GRIAN had to tell him he won. Some one he really did care about, enough to die, told him. It's not just a parallel its a contrast.
