And that’s a wrap. Our rocketman shoot is over after 2 fittings, 2 makeup trials, multiple clothing design ideas to our end result. Model looking stunning in her silver jumpsuit with her white high heeled boots inspired by Eltons boots with the stars,and also the accessories to compliment the look. we used a keyboard as a prop showing the musical element of rocket man also using alcohol bottles as in the movie Elton drank his tears away a lot. The feathers and dramatic makeup really enhance the Elton John look. I feel we all did well giving our ideas to the model and photographer doing our best for everyone to put their own input in. I am very happy with the end result for our magazine cover inspired by rocket man the movie!!

Here is our lighting brief we have decided to go for purple spotlights with green also. Purple giving that euphoria trend vibe. These colours also give the dramatic effect we are going for with the bright colours

Only a few days left before the shoot and we are doing a try on and practicing poses. we have used different props which we think will look good on the day. we have used the piano to symbolise the music in Elton johns life and used the lights for the extra colour.

Our sparkly jumpsuit is not only inspired by the 70′s and the movie ‘Rocketman’ it also is in fashion today and was in 2021 Louis Vuitton runway show in a suit and straight eg trousers in the same glittery sequins as our jumpsuit. 70′s fashion is coming back in 2021 and we’re loving it!. some more designers that have taken on this fashion is Lelah which have the same concept with the same print and style clothing. also this high end brand Schiaparelli which have done the 70′s wide leg trousers with funky prints.

Some of the poses we want our model to do on the day of the shoot. We will be showing this collage to the photographer to get all these interesting poses. we chose to do weird and different poses as we were influenced by brands like ‘zara’ they use interesting poses for there model pictures on there website of there items of clothing to be promoted. there weird and different poses intrigue people making them show other people which gives them word of mouth publicity and more social media shares making people take a look at there website and ending up buying items from being intrigued by there poses giving a positive outcome. This shows how important the poses are in clothing photoshoots. We also wanted to make the model look bold and confident as Elton always looks confident in his poses when taking pictures.

Today we went to the fabric store and bought this silver metallic material. The images here are the different ways we are thinking of different ways we could style or use it for our ‘rocketman’ styling shoot.

As a group we decided that our look wasn’t enough and added some feathers to the shoulders placing shoulder pads in the shoulders and then sewing the feathers on top of the shoulders. I think this really makes out Elton john ‘rocketman’ inspired outfit giving 70′s disco vibes.

Our model has come in for her first fit check and makeup trial run. it went well as the outfit fits perfectly for the eye catching Elton John look. with he makeup we focused mainly on the eyes using gems on the eyes to make it look extra cool and different and extra. we have glued gems all over the classic Elton John glasses for that extra colour and sparkle. on the day of the shoot we want the models hair to be as curly and crazy as possible to embrace her natural curls but also fitting the over the top look we want. In my research i found many makeup looks using gems from Tik Tok instagram and google which is why we decided to use them.

Hello, and thank you for being our model for the shoot of Rocket Man!

The above collage is attached to help give you a feel and vibe of the photoshoot before the day, so you don’t feel as confused as to what to expect! Our photoshoot is all about Rocket Man the film which is based around Elton John! We’re exploring the journey he shows throughout the film into our shoot, some key points being his drug miss usage, his alcoholism, his vibrant and exaggerated clothing attire and energetic attitude. These are just some of the things we wish to highlight in the photoshoot with the help of lighting, camera angles, props and clothing!

Below are some requirements we have for the shoot day, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to be in contact with us!

1) Hair as curly as possible before the shoot, we can fix and tweak this on set. (See the photographs on hair and makeup above)

2) No fake tan/ neutral nails 

4) Bring own foundation, brushes and anything you’d prefer we’d use on your skin for makeup.

5) Let us know any food requirements, any allergies or preferences, we will be providing food for you.

6) Provide us with clothing and shoe size so we can document this

7) Be at Victoria building for 8am, we will begin hair and makeup at this time ready for the shoot at 10:30am for 45 minutes

8) If you have any dramatic lashes please bring them, if not this is not an issue we can provide them on the shoot, please make us aware if we need/ do not need to provide them.Lastly, thank you again for modelling for us and we look forward to seeing you on the photoshoot day!

We have been inspired by bold rings as they are fashion right now also we have been Elton John throughout the movie wear different jewellery. Chunky jewellery is very much in fashion right now with high fashion brands like DIOR bringing out chunky bold jewellery so we took inspiration from Dior and other high end jewellery brands. 

today is a new day and we have been given out a choice of all these wonderful colours for our backdrop in the photoshoot. we chose the Burgundy red as that colour symbolises sadness and grief which what we think Elton has gone through a lot throughout the movie ‘rocket man’ 

We have tried on our outfit and accessories that we have bought today and it looks perfect just small adjustments to the jumpsuit will be needed to give it the wow factor of Elton Johns looks in the ‘Rocketman’

We made it to town market and have found some gems! they have a variety of jewellery on discounted prices. We opted for this gorgeous blue stone ring and a cross ring. we have also found our outfit that we will use for the shoot and also bought some high heel boots to go with the fit. Excited to see how the look will all come together in the end.

Another day, another Starbies. Just getting ready to head down to town to see if we can find an outfit for the styling shoot. We are going for a 70′s disco look which is one of the most stylish eras of all time with vibrant colours and sequins which fits into the movie ‘RocketMan’ as it was also very vibrant and different. 70s vintage fashion is very in style currently and has everyone wearing flared pants, small bags and big boots. our outfit ideas would fit well as it is going to be something we would wear today, but also has the exaggerated aspect from the movie and some vintage styling elements from the 70s incorporated into it.
