HELLO!!! 😁 I'm Rozel Punsalan, 20, from Quezon City. I was born in Quezon City, but I was raised and grew up in Cabanatuan City, my mom's hometown.

I have a younger brother, his name is Wilson. I love him so much. We are close to each other even though we have big age gap. We like to watch movies together. My father is an electrician, and my mom is an employee in an eye company. My father is a supportive father when it comes to my hobby and interests. Also my mom, when it comes to my decision in love and life. I'm so lucky to have them as my family. They are cool and supportive. As well as my brother, he is so overprotective to me. He's also thoughtful and supportive when it comes to my love life.

I love travelling with friends. I've been to Baguio, Boracay, Cebu and Bicol. I enjoyed the sea and the mountains there so much, the Philippines is really mesmerizing. There are lots of beautiful places in the Philippines that I wish to visit soon.

I have lots of friends, those from my Junior High School years, Senior High and College friends. My junior and high school friends were the best even we're not on the same school anymore. They are the one whom I spent the night out with, the one who knows my family well, and who knows me better. My friends now in college are also the best, they are the one who's helping me to survive on the most stressing part of my life.

WHY I CHOSE BTLE-ICT?

Simply because I love algorithms and logic. I want to explore the computer and the internet. I want to have lots of knowledge about how the computer works and how will it benefits us humans in the present and the future. I know someday, I will become an IT expert. I will become the next Elon Musk, hopefully. I want to explore more the media and the digital world.

I'm enjoying my specialization because I'm learning new things not just about computer but also other things and new concepts in connection with TLE. I chose BTLE-ICT because why not? We are the jack of all trades! ☺

"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all". The quotation from the great Greek philosopher Aristotle stated what exactly my view about education. Defining education based on dictionary, is the systematic process of improving learning, knowledge, skill and understanding about anything at school, college, university or other educational institutes which gives us an enlightening experience. But for me, education can't always be found on school, on books and not even on lesson plans. Education is what's inside our hearts and our soul. For me, we should shape our character first and the rest will follow. What is intelligence if you do not possess kindness? What is degree if your heart is empty? Knowledge can easily acquired in school. You can open your books and gain knowledge, browse the net and gain knowledge. Knowledge is everywhere, it is always there but being a good person, it can only be found in our hearts. As for me, I've been inspired by my teachers not only because they were good in teaching but also because they have good hearts. Good hearts that touched my life and leads me to the idea of being an educator too. I had my first teaching experience in my alma mater during our Work Immersion. Teaching demonstration was one of the requirements in the subject. I was excited and really nervous before the demo but when I started the class and observed that they were all participating and listening to me, the nervous feeling changed into an unexplainable joy. Being a teacher for a day I realized that this is really what I want. I then imagined what kind of teacher I would become someday. Teaching is the noblest among all the professions since all professionals underwent education with a teacher. It’s also a process to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals and workers like politician, engineers, doctors, policemen, priests, educators, legislators and good citizens. Well, teaching for me is not only a profession or a process or just merely a job, but it is a calling. I believe that my calling is to discover and develop students that will grow and shape the future. I believe that being a good teacher shapes the mind and the heart of each and every student. I believe that a good teacher knows and understands students on their strengths and weaknesses to which they develop and learn. I know that students do not all learn in the same way. And I believe that it is my responsibility to be an effective guide in discovering and developing their skills based on their interests and abilities. I want all of my students to achieve at high levels but I do not want them to compete with each other. I want my future students to learn and enjoy during my class hour. As a teacher, I do not want my student to feel pressured on my subject. I want my students feel the excitement everytime I will meet them on my class and not to fear me as if I am a witch whenever I am in front of them. Finally, I want them to address me as the coolest teacher they ever meet and treat me still with high respect. As a future teacher, I will not always rely on lesson plans but focus more on life lessons. Life lessons that my students will surely bring and remember as they walk towards their future.
